Judas Priest on Tour
British heavy metal powerhouse Judas Priest has released 22 albums over four decades. They laid much of the groundwork for the heavy music of the 80s with their two guitar attack of revved up blues-based riffs They continue to tour, treating metal fans to extravagant live shows and spirited renditions of their unmistakable anthems. Ticket holders are sure to get to a concert early because they don't want to miss Singer Rob Halford's stage entrance. He emerges from a cloud of fog riding on a Harley Davidson, clad head to toe in leather-studded S&M gear. The band released a live DVD of their Epitaph World Tour in May 2013, which well received and features 23 tracks covering most eras of the bands storied career.
Judas Priest in Concert
The group formed in 1969 in Birmingham, England and released their first album in 1974 entitled Rocka Rolla. This was soon to be followed by Sad Wings of Destiny in 1976, which gained the group a wider audience in the UK. The group's next three albums: Sin After Sin, Stained Class and Hell Bent for Leather were released in 1977, 1978 and 1979 respectively, and showed a band evolving its sound into shorter songs that still retained a heavy metal punch. Next came the album British Steel in 1980, which featured "Living After Midnight", "Breaking the Law" and "United" — all earning regular radio play. Point of Entry was released in 1981, followed by Screaming For Vengeance in 1984, which went double platinum. The 2008 concept album Nostradamus found them pushing boundaries by challenging their listeners to consider how "metal" the man of prophetic talents actually was. Over the next four years the band toured relentlessly and they show no signs of letting up, with an impressive schedule of tour dates on the books for 2014.
Judas Priest and Sabaton=fantastic! You will not be disappointed.
This was my 3rd time seeing Judas Priest and also the best. We were supposed to be in Section 219 and through fortuitous circumstances and maybe divine intervention we wound up FRONT ROW CENTER!!! And not only that, Jim Breuer from Saturday Night Live was directly behind us with two of his friends providing some of the most hilarious heavy metal energy. He elevated what was already and epic experience. I can't even describe how good JP was. Rob Halford was still hitting all the high notes perfectly. Truly a special evening.
Judas Priest, and Rob Halford, after 50 years can still put on a great show! The venue was great. The sound quality was excellent. The stage set up was impressive. I’ve enjoyed every concert at the VBC. Keep the great touring bands coming to Huntsville.
Incredible show! Rob Halford is amazing! He sounds as good as he did 40 plus years ago! Both guitarists were fantastic! Sabaton (opener) put on a great show and set the tone for Judas Priest. The VBC is a nice venue with easy access and control.
Energetic performance, such an honor to witness these legends.
First time to see either Sabaton or Judas Priest, and both blew us away. Sabaton came out and played like a headliner, not an opener, and the crowd was definitely behind them. I highly recommend seeing them if you get the chance. As for Priest, the Metal God and his crew came out and put on a show that had to be seen to be believed. With a mix of new and old material, there was something for everyone. Rob and Co can still melt your face off. Make sure you don't miss them if they're in your area.
During this concert, Rob said he is 73 and age is only a number. He proved that during the show. He moved all over the stage during the entire 18 song set. His voice sounded great for the entire set. Definitely didn’t disappoint!
All in all the concert was wonderful. The only complaint I had was people moving into seats that was not theirs and blocking other people's views.
Great Rock show from Judas Priest. I loved the energy, from their performance! They played a mixture of their older music, along with several from their new Album, Invincible Shield, opening up with Panic Attack!
Wow Judas Priest and Sabaton were both amazing. Rob is a powerhouse with his voice at 72 years old😮
