ROTTING CHRIST IN CONCERT:

Greek black metal pioneers Rotting Christ unleash the sounds of the apocalypse every time they perform their monstrous metal jams in concert. If their name didn't clue you in, these guys hail from the dark end of the metal spectrum, and their legendary live shows always take fans on a hair-raising romp through the macabre. Performing in all black with pentagram insignia blazing, the band fires on all cylinders right out of the gate, tearing through morbid anthems like "Nemecic" and "Sign of Evil Existence" with staggering intensity and precision. Frontman Sakis Tolis leads the charge, hitting the crowd with savage screams and guttural growls while the rest of the band dials in hard-hitting guitar, bass, and drums. Ticket buyers looking for a dark, decibel-shattering metal experience won't want to miss the chance to headbang along with Rotting Christ any time they conjure up their bludgeoning sound in concert.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Rotting Christ was formed in Athens in 1987 by brothers Sakis Tolis (vocals and guitar) and Themis Tolis (drums). The band cut its teeth performing in the city's grindcore scene, but soon they were helping pioneer the black metal sound that was sweeping Europe in the late '80s. Their acclaimed 1991 debut album Passage to Arcturo established them as one of Greece's premier metal bands, and in 1993 they got international exposure on the F*ck Christ Tour with like-minded acts Immortal and Blasphemy. A string of ambitious albums followed in the '90s and '00s that saw the band continually push their sound in new directions including gothic and industrial metal, and in 2007 they celebrated their 20th anniversary with the 2DVD + 2 CD compilation Non Serviam: A 20 Year Apocryphal Story. With their 2016 album Rituals still fresh in fans' minds, Rotting Christ has black metal fans everywhere ready and raring to thrash to the new material in concert.

Great venue. Very intimate with free seating for GA tickets. Amazing performance by all the bands. Carach Angren and Uada stood out as I have never heard of them before but should definitely be checked out.

    Absolutely Amazing

    by R. D. on 3/13/23Gramercy Theatre - New York

I have been a huge fan of Rotting Christ since 1997 (A Dead Poem), yet I have never seen them play live. I finally caught up with them in NYC at Gramercy Theater. It was absolutely amazing! Technically perfect and very entertaining.

    Absolutely murderous lineup

by Ezra on 3/13/23Gramercy Theatre - New York

Everyone was completely on point, Carach Angren stole the show, but Uada, and GAEREA ran a really tight set. GAEREA was like watching theatre, it was really beautiful and dark. Haunting. Uada are a really great bunch of dudes, took a group photo outside with them. Have a great backstage crew as well. Merch guy was really cool. Rotting Christ always delivers. The Tolis Brothers are just some of the most down to earth coolest dudes in the music scene. I loved their performance.

    Amazing show

by CM on 5/11/22Baltimore Soundstage - Baltimore

The devastation of the nation tour was a pretty solid show. Rotting Christ was on top of their game and pulled songs from all their albums. We will be seeing them again next time they come through (as with Borknagar and Abigail Williams).

    Rotting Christ - Atlanta

by ZloStar on 4/11/11Masquerade - Atlanta

A great gig from start to finish. I was pleasantly surprized to see 4 bands perform for over 4hrs for $21 a ticket. As expected Rotting Christ rocked the house.
