Mr. Bungle on Tour

Inventive and experimental rock band Mr. Bungle's avant-garde style includes a unique blend of of instrumentation and genres that can include ska, death metal, jazz, lounge, pop, Middle Eastern, surf and funk, and more. Mr. Bungle's  hybrid sound invites  listeners on a sonic rollercoaster ride, hopping from genre to genre. This unique sound has amassed them a global cult following.

They released their first studio album, Mr. Bungle, after signing with Warner Bros in 1991. Their next album, Disco Volante, was released in 1995, followed by California in 1999. The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo was released as a full-length album in 2020.

With their genre-defying, sonic experimentation, there's never a dull moment at a Mr. Bungle concert.

Mr. Bungle Live in Concert

Having reunited in 2020, Mr. Bungle's lineup includes Mike Patton (lead vocals), Trey Spruance (lead guitar), Trevor Dunn (bass), Dave Lombardo (drums), and Scott Ian (rhythm guitar). Ian was a member of the pioneering thrash metal band Anthrax, and Lombardo was Slayer's former drummer and has worked with hardcore punk groups like the Suicidal Tendencies and Dead Cross. Patton and Spruance are original members of Mr. Bungle.

Originally formed in Eureka, California, by high school buddies, the first iteration of Mr. Bungle consisted of Dunn, Danny Heifetz (drums), Theo Lengyel (alto saxophone), Clinton McKinnon (tenor saxophone), Patton, and Spruance. The band's name comes from a '60s children's educational film that was later featured in Pee-wee Herman's first HBO special. Mr. Bungle reformed in 2020 for what was supposed to be three shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Brooklyn. The plan was to perform their 1986 demo -- The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demo -- in its entirety, but demand for tickets was so high that additional nights were added, and the spark to tour was ignited.

Mr. Bungle's unique sound has influenced legendary artists like Korn, System of a Down, Incubus, and Uncle Kracker.

Don't Go if You want to hear the Old Good Stuff

    by notafanofthebunny on 11/25/23

Bungle is apparently mainly focusing on their thrash period. I saw them in Oakland and though it wasn't advertised as a bunny show every song was thrash. they didn't play anything off their main studio albums until the last song. if you are really into their thrash then you should see them. but if you want to hear something off their self titled or california or the other more complex and harmonic songs then unless you see a setlist from a recent show then take your chances.

    Unforgettable night!!!

    by C.A. on 11/15/23

Amazing show at the Welmont theater. Saw them in 2020 but the band was really having a good time during this tour. My kids got guitar pics from the crew and we left with memories for Mr. Bungle. Ive seen Bungke in 95/99 but this show was just pure enegy. Crowd was surfing and there was a tribute to Pee Wee Herman. Five stars 🌟

    Best ever!

by Jules on 9/23/23The Fillmore Detroit - Detroit

I upgraded to a table when I arrived, like I normally do. I generally don’t like sharing a table but the table I wanted already had 2 people at it and I was worried who would be seated with us. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Doug, a season ticket holder introduced me to Matt, who is the director of premium sales and service. Couldn’t have been a nicer guy, and look forward to seeing him again. Thank you Doug for the generous gift you gave me before we left! And let me tell you about the sound. The sound guys had everything sounding fantastic! And the bartenders were FABULOUS! Top 3 concerts of all time.

    Pure Metal

by MAccilien on 9/19/23The Fillmore Detroit - Detroit

Such a good show! These guys played some face-melting metal, everyone in the band was "on". I overheard a couple younger guys complaining about the newer direction the band was taking and wanted to hear the material from their Warner Brothers albums which I get, but you can't play "Pink Cigarette"with Dave Lombardo in the band.....take in the lesson, kids!

    A blast

by DukeRoberts on 9/17/23MTELUS - Montreal

Very heavy show in the best sense! Full Wrath album played, plus a medley of oldies and a few kitch songs. A Super Group at its best!

    Mike Patton Was Epic!!

by MadMan Malloy on 9/16/23History - Toronto

Mr. Bungle put on a great show. Trey was fascinating to watch, Scott Ian was NOT! bad, Dave Lombardo slayed on drums and the bass player was good too. However, as per usual, Mike Patton was on fire. His vocal range, his intellgence and eclectic comedic genius were on full display. Thanks Mike!!!

Nice energy but it's not the Bungle I wanted to see

by Raph on 9/15/23MTELUS - Montreal

Sound was good (and very very loud). Mike Patton was on fire. But the song selection which was 90% from their latest album was a bit sad for me. I was expecting Mr.Bungle but ended up listening to the New Mr.Bungle (maybe they should just have a new band name?) Which was all Metal all the time. Meh. Happy to have seen them live for the first time. Sad it was mostly new material.
