Judas Priest on Tour

British heavy metal powerhouse Judas Priest has released 22 albums over four decades. They laid much of the groundwork for the heavy music of the 80s with their two guitar attack of revved up blues-based riffs They continue to tour, treating metal fans to extravagant live shows and spirited renditions of their unmistakable anthems. Ticket holders are sure to get to a concert early because they don't want to miss Singer Rob Halford's stage entrance. He emerges from a cloud of fog riding on a Harley Davidson, clad head to toe in leather-studded S&M gear. The band released a live DVD of their Epitaph World Tour in May 2013, which well received and features 23 tracks covering most eras of the bands storied career.

Judas Priest in Concert

The group formed in 1969 in Birmingham, England and released their first album in 1974 entitled Rocka Rolla. This was soon to be followed by Sad Wings of Destiny in 1976, which gained the group a wider audience in the UK. The group's next three albums: Sin After Sin, Stained Class and Hell Bent for Leather were released in 1977, 1978 and 1979 respectively, and showed a band evolving its sound into shorter songs that still retained a heavy metal punch. Next came the album British Steel in 1980, which featured "Living After Midnight", "Breaking the Law" and "United" — all earning regular radio play. Point of Entry was released in 1981, followed by Screaming For Vengeance in 1984, which went double platinum. The 2008 concept album Nostradamus found them pushing boundaries by challenging their listeners to consider how "metal" the man of prophetic talents actually was. Over the next four years the band toured relentlessly and they show no signs of letting up, with an impressive schedule of tour dates on the books for 2014.

Judas Priest really rocked as usual and the sound was great at the Rosemont Theater. Sabaton opened and has an interesting sound and message. Drums were deafening.

    Priest is a Machine

by Griffshark on 5/6/24Armory - Minneapolis

Despite their age and only have 2 remaining members from their classic lineup, Judas Priest never fails to deliver a great show. There are few bands that I've seen that are as tight a unit playing together. And at 70+ years old, Rob Halford is a freak of nature as far as how well he still sings. There isn't nearly the physical movement and Rob does have the crowd sing more parts but for the 90 % that he does sing, he is still phenomenal. I would say my only disappointment is that it seems like they have used nearly the same stage setup the lasr 3 times that I've seen them. Compared with the glory days of the 80's, this is kind of a letdown, but personally I'm there for the music and the performance, not the stage decoration.

    It Rocked the Night!

by Metal Vulcan on 5/6/24Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

Really enjoyed Sabaton as an opener. We always attend their concerts every time they come to the US. Judas Priest can still Rock even after 50 years! Still well worth the ticket money.

    Good not great

by Matt on 5/6/24Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

Longtime Priest fan, seen them many times. Great to see that Halford can still bring it on songs like Painkiller and Victim of Changes. The main issue was how much he had the crowd sing instead of him. For the choruses of iconic songs like Another Thing Coming, Electric Eye, Breaking the Law - I need to hear him sing those iconic choruses, not the crowd singing it. It happened frequently enough for me to downgrade each of the songs in which he did that. it was quite unsatisfying not to hear him sing those lines. I probably would not see them again if this is what to expect, I've seen them enough to otherwise have had my fill.

    Absolutely Awesome

by Harwick on 5/6/24Armory - Minneapolis

Judas Priest was absolutely amazing, Halford sounded better than ever as did the rest of the Metal Gods. Was able to bring my son to his first concert and the Armory is a great venue. We had a blast and Priest was Great. Loved all of it, Sabaton was a great opener and got the crowd ready for The Metal Gods.
