ZZ Top Concert Schedule
ZZ Top is a legendary American rock band known for their blues-infused rock music, bawdy lyrics and long, red beards. ZZ Top tours include the 2017 Tonnage Tour, 2016 Hell Raisers Tour, and the 2013 La Futura Tour. ZZ Top live shows leave the audience laughing dancing and feeling like they are at a jam session with close friends, instead of a concert headlined by rock and roll legends. Their massive success has allowed all of their albums to reach gold or platinum status. The band's best selling album is 1983's Eliminator, which spawned the hit singles "Legs" and "Sharped Dress Man." The album went on to sell 10 million units, reaching diamond status and the 25 million records they've sold in the U.S. makes them one of the top 100 selling artists in the country. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.
ZZ Top Background
ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston Texas with guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbon, organist Lanier Greig and drummer Dan Mitchell. The name of the band came from Gibbons combining the names of B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, when he noticed that many artists used their initials as their band's name. When ZZ King seemed too close to the originals he changed it to ZZ Top. The current lineup of the band consists of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbon and drummer Frank Beard. ZZ Top's signature sound can best be described as blues-infused rock with elements of punk rock and new wave added through their use synthesizers. While Eliminator was the band's most successful album with 10 million albums sold, 1985's Afterburner was their highest charting album. All the singles from Afterburner were Top 40 hits and the album itself went on to sell five million copies. Other Top 40 singles include 1975's "Tush," 1977's "I Thank You," and 1981's "Gimme All Your Lovin'"Follow ZZ Top on social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Facebook.
Loved the concert! They were tight. Billy can sure play guitar.
ZZ Top were fabulous and can still really jam! Their opening band, The Black Moods were also very good! I really enjoyed the smaller venue; not a bad seat anywhere in the house.
Missed DH, Elwood filled in nicely. BG is top 5 in my book.
Black Moods was a great warm up band. Then ZZ Top took the stage and blew us away. Played all their great hits, every one a winner. Precision guitar playing from Billy Gibons.
I figured this would be my last real concert, as I'm old! Love ZZ, they put on a super show!! It was nice to see the real deal, instead of a cover band, all the great rockers are getting old, they won't be able to perform for too much longer. If you know what I mean.
I love ZZ Top, so I feel terrible leaving this review. First, the Findlay Toyota Center is no place for a concert; the acoustics are terrible and they chose not to put the performers on the big screens that were present on both sides of the arena. For whatever reason, the band, in my opinion, just did not sound like ZZ Top. Not sure if the acoustics are totally to blame, or maybe these great musicians have just stated out on the road too long, or perhaps they just miss having Dusty on stage. It all just seemed a little sad.
It was one of the best concerts I have ever went to
Billy can still kill it on the guitar. Missed Dusty but Elwood was awesome!!
The Black Moods & ZZ Top. Perfect evening. Great seats. A great night. Beats the Desert Diamond Arena hands down. No speakers in that arena, & lousy acoustics. We’ll enjoy this venue again!
It was a blast , had a great time, 7th time in 50 years I have seen ZZTop and would do it again!
The boys from Texas put on an amazing show for the folks in Prescott AZ. I loved the song selection and the performance. I have been watching ZZTop shows since Anaheim Stadium monster show in late 70’s and this is the best they have ever been. I also have to mention The Black Moods who opened the show and is a local AZ band I had never seen before. They put on an amazing performance as well and look forward to seeing them again. I highly recommend checking out this band.
ZZ Top was great I just really had a difficult time seeing the stage and the band. I was in a wheelchair on the floor designated handicap and once the show started everyone stood up in front of us, and we couldn’t see anything, through out the rest of the show! Very disappointed about that part.
ZZ Top is always great. The Black Moods were also great. The Toyota Center is a great local venue. My only complaint with them is that there is no center aisle for the first 4 rows so if you’re in the middle seats you’re always bothering people to get out for the bathroom, drinks etc. The entire floor seating has a middle aisle walkway, until you get to the front 4 rows. No sense!
Waited a very long time for opening band. Then waited a REALLY long time for ZZTop. Come on...do better
Volume was too loud and the volume of the music drowned out the vocals. Would have liked more of the popular songs.
Last time I saw ZZ Top was 43 years ago. I thought I had pretty good seats until I'm int big guy in front of me decided to stand up and block my view. A few others stood up, inconsiderate of others behind them. Other than that, it was an awesome show. Five stars for the bands. Three stars for the seating arrangement.
Great show enjoyed great musicians good atmosphere
ZZ Top has been going at it for 50 years. An important element of the human psyche is knowing when it's quittin' time. I saw this group a few years back in ABQ, NM and their musicianship was top notch. With the death of Rhodes comes the slow decay of ZZ Top as a whole. This show was quite the spectacle, and every hit was played... though, sorry Gibson and Beard, time to move your talents to greener pastures. Your band used to really produce great music, now you sample spectacular talent and ride on the coat tails of past success. Retire now before ZZ Top turns into total Z's.
it is ZZ Top it can not be anything less than AWESOME
It was fun and had great time … only thing i have small problem that there small seats , it doesn’t fit in all .. had to get up stand and go back sit there .. too small 🤦🏻♀️but concert was blast ….
