ZZ Top Concert Schedule
ZZ Top is a legendary American rock band known for their blues-infused rock music, bawdy lyrics and long, red beards. ZZ Top tours include the 2017 Tonnage Tour, 2016 Hell Raisers Tour, and the 2013 La Futura Tour. ZZ Top live shows leave the audience laughing dancing and feeling like they are at a jam session with close friends, instead of a concert headlined by rock and roll legends. Their massive success has allowed all of their albums to reach gold or platinum status. The band's best selling album is 1983's Eliminator, which spawned the hit singles "Legs" and "Sharped Dress Man." The album went on to sell 10 million units, reaching diamond status and the 25 million records they've sold in the U.S. makes them one of the top 100 selling artists in the country. ZZ Top has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, and they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2004.
ZZ Top Background
ZZ Top formed in 1969 in Houston Texas with guitarist and lead vocalist Billy Gibbon, organist Lanier Greig and drummer Dan Mitchell. The name of the band came from Gibbons combining the names of B.B. King and Z.Z. Hill, when he noticed that many artists used their initials as their band's name. When ZZ King seemed too close to the originals he changed it to ZZ Top. The current lineup of the band consists of bassist and lead vocalist Dusty Hill, Billy Gibbon and drummer Frank Beard. ZZ Top's signature sound can best be described as blues-infused rock with elements of punk rock and new wave added through their use synthesizers. While Eliminator was the band's most successful album with 10 million albums sold, 1985's Afterburner was their highest charting album. All the singles from Afterburner were Top 40 hits and the album itself went on to sell five million copies. I saw ZZ TOP Back in the '70's and I certainly did not think they would be near as good today 5/24. I was SO wrong! They still kick azz and their showmanship is outstanding. GO SEE THEM!!!!
This was the second time see ZZ Top without Dusty Hill on bass. Elwood is starting to carve out his own style vs. him being a little tentative the first time I saw him on the Sharp Dressed Simple Man tour. It’s good to see some of the classic moves like on Waitin’ for The Bus, but they’re coming up with new stuff rather than trying to copy all the Dusty moves. Billy is as top notch as ever, and I’m glad to see the music being carried on. This was a smaller indoor venue, and it was my first time at The Venue at Thunder Valley. The sound was great, the lighting was good, and the seats were comfortable.
We were bumbed out because we couldn't bring our tickets up on our phone. I bought our tickets real early too. Ticket Master said to take proof of purchase and we did but were refused entrance to the show. It was very disappointing.
So Good every time. Sounding better and better. Very Professional.
Good seats at the Venue. A muted sound system makes it so that you can talk and hear each other. Improved mix by the control sound engineer. Greeted well by all helpful ushers. The bar area got very dark went they took the stage. Defused lighting would be helpful.
Amazing! Voices great, instruments sounded awesome. We saw it at Thunder Valley and we had great seats to not only listen but watch them play!
You gotta love ZZTop. All these years and they still bring it... Loved seeing them again...
Went to ZZ Top & Foghat at the Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, CA (Sacramento area). The venue is top notch, not a bad seat in the house. Plenty of “free” parking….with free shuttle rides for those not into walking. There is also a closer parking structure attached to the casino as well as valet parking. Security at the entrance was polite and easy going. The concessions take both cards (credit and debit) as well as cash. The show started right on time. The performers sounded great and the viewing is enhanced by two huge auxiliary screens on each side of the stage, for those seated further back. Foghat set the table for ZZ Top (which had already seen ZZ Top play 3 times before). This was the first time with Elwood Francis on bass….and he did not disappoint. Was a first class venue, presenting a top notch concert. Always looking for 70’s and 80’s rock bands to get booked at Thunder Valley. Definitely looking for a return visit to this Lincoln, CA venue.
ZZ Top was in good in good form, and they played all of their music to perfection. Looked like they were glad to be there.
We really loved the concert other than the distortion, it was hard to hear Billy singing, but thankfully we know most of the words because we’ve been listening to them all of these years

The seats were great. Last time I saw ZZ was 1977 , brought back a lot of memories. The sound mixing seemed a little off, the music drowned out the vocals . Not a big issue as I knew every song , but a minor annoyance. Over all great show
I loved how there were 2 big screens to see ZZ Top with close up shots of them too. Much easier than trying to see them on the stage. Great venue too. So close to the hotels. Wished that they played a little longer though

Amazing concert. Those guys are awesome. The band prior was pretty damn good too.
One of the most enjoyable concerts ever. Great music, involved and happy crowd, performers who were enjoying themselves as much as the audience. All in all, hated to see it end and wishing I had seen this group live before.
Second time with Ticketmaster an still service about buying and receiving confirmation on completion for tickets. It was easier then I expected and relieved getting the confirmation as time got closer to Concert time. I had help from my Daughter-inlaw as well. I can't afford to go to too many concerts but the "Great Good Ole Boy"like "ZZ TOP"are my favorite. Glad I went. It was great to see them again.
One of the best concerts I’ve been too. Billy at 74 can jam with the best of them.
I know Billie is in his 70s, but the show was very short. The acoustics in the Reno Ballroom are terrible. I’m glad I was sitting close enough, but the seating had no rise to it and was tough to see the stage from the back.
