Judas Priest on Tour

British heavy metal powerhouse Judas Priest has released 22 albums over four decades. They laid much of the groundwork for the heavy music of the 80s with their two guitar attack of revved up blues-based riffs They continue to tour, treating metal fans to extravagant live shows and spirited renditions of their unmistakable anthems. Ticket holders are sure to get to a concert early because they don't want to miss Singer Rob Halford's stage entrance. He emerges from a cloud of fog riding on a Harley Davidson, clad head to toe in leather-studded S&M gear. The band released a live DVD of their Epitaph World Tour in May 2013, which well received and features 23 tracks covering most eras of the bands storied career.

Judas Priest in Concert

The group formed in 1969 in Birmingham, England and released their first album in 1974 entitled Rocka Rolla. This was soon to be followed by Sad Wings of Destiny in 1976, which gained the group a wider audience in the UK. The group's next three albums: Sin After Sin, Stained Class and Hell Bent for Leather were released in 1977, 1978 and 1979 respectively, and showed a band evolving its sound into shorter songs that still retained a heavy metal punch. Next came the album British Steel in 1980, which featured "Living After Midnight", "Breaking the Law" and "United" — all earning regular radio play. Point of Entry was released in 1981, followed by Screaming For Vengeance in 1984, which went double platinum. The 2008 concept album Nostradamus found them pushing boundaries by challenging their listeners to consider how "metal" the man of prophetic talents actually was. Over the next four years the band toured relentlessly and they show no signs of letting up, with an impressive schedule of tour dates on the books for 2014.

by Ace on 5/14/24Ameris Bank Amphitheatre - Alpharetta

Wow! First time to see Priest, and I hope it won’t be the last. Awesome show! The band sounded great behind Rob, who can still bring it vocally. Show highlights were “Panic Attack”, “Painkiller”, “Sinnner”, and “Helios/Electric Eye”, Also, the amphitheater was terrific. Easy in. Easy out. Great acoustics & plenty of staff. Very satisfied with the whole experience!!

    Sabaton+Judas Priest

by Dumbledore on 5/14/24Ameris Bank Amphitheatre - Alpharetta

I went to see Sabaton, the opening act. I do like a few songs from Judas, but that was not the main objective. Both bands are solid and I am sure people didn't leave disappointed. It was my first time at this venue and was positively impressed. Easy to park, short walk to the gate, polite and attentive folks at the entrance. Super easy and flowing well. I always buy a hoodie, and found the prices a little higher than in other concerts/venues like the Masquerade, but not that higher to spoil the fun.

    Excellent!

by MikeW. on 5/13/24Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center - Huntsville

A great show! A touch too loud for the venue. Cheap Trick used to say they were the loudest band in rock & roll; they may have been mistaken. Still bringing the bike onstage! A nice touch!

    Unsurpassed Talent

If you think you have been to a rock concert and never seen Judas Priest, you haven't been to a rock concert. Nothing more needs to be said.

After 50 years Judas Priest is still rocking

by Jezza819 on 5/12/24Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center - Huntsville

The last time I saw Judas Priest in Huntsville was 1984 I think. Now I live here and I was surprised to hear they were coming here but I knew I had to go. It was a great show. I was disappointed with the size of the crowd though. One of the most important bands in heavy metal history should always play to a full house. Sabaton was the opening act and even though I had heard their name before I didn't know any of their music. They were pretty good though. But Judas Priest were awesome. Rob Halford is 72 years old but can't still bring it. Ritchie Faulkner and Andy Sneap on guitars support that classic Priest twin guitar attack. Ian HIll on bass and Scott Travis on drums lay a solid foundation. Some of the highlights of the show were "Saints In Hell"which I had never heard live and don't know that I've ever seen any concert videos of it in the past. "The Sinner"which displays Rob's tremendous vocal range. The songs they played off of the new album Invincible Shield were very good. My favorite Priest song "Victim Of Changes"was awesome. The stage was covered in green lighting for "Green Manalishi"which I love. My only slight disappointment was not hearing "Metal Gods"or "Diamonds And Rust". But other than that it was a great show and if you're a heavy metal fan I urge you to see Judas Priest while you still can.

Hero Metal and the Metal god himself!

by Shumonster on 5/11/24Propst Arena at the Von Braun Center - Huntsville

What an incredible show in Huntsville Al. These guys have been Standard Bearers for years and still Rock harder than you. Stunning performance and testament to the vocal health, and the stellar musicianship of this incredible band. Sabaton was their opening act and were in top form, too.
