  • First Time Visitor

by Cande on 11/25/25Churchill Downs - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

First time visitor. Wanted to see the Americana that is Churchill. Though not a gambler, had a wonderful time watching the races, taking the tours, having lunch. Food was great, employees were helpful and kind. Good experience for the whole family.

What a great, reasonably priced way to spend a day! Museum is great, tour was interesting, and watching the races was exhilarating and fun! Be prepared for lots of walking!!! The place is HUGE!

  • Relaxing Fall Day at the Races

by MBsett on 11/18/25Churchill Downs - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I had not been to Churchill Downs since I was in my twenties (30 years ago). Came to the Claiming Crown Fall Meet and it exceeded my expectations. Beautiful track, welcoming and knowledgeable staff, great julep! The races were organized and entertaining. My only concern was that there was no follow up to the horrific fall of one of the horses. The jockey (by the grace of God) seemed to be ok but the horse was not. There was a small girl beside me that was traumatized. I would have expected to see a write up of some sort letting us know the condition of both jockey and horse. As spectators and lovers of the sport, it just felt odd for it to have happened with no follow up that I can find. Overall, the day was lovely and Churchill Downs never fails to present an elegant day of racing. Just would like recognition that something awful transpired.

  • Winning Even When You're Losing

by SpenBoy on 11/11/25Churchill Downs - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Hadn't been to CD for 2 years. Friends came in from out of town who had never been to a horse race, so we went. What a GREAT TIME !! We ALL loved it !! Only cashed a few tickets, but it didn't matter - the atmosphere was electric and mint juleps outstanding. I highly recommend it for a Louisville/Kentucky "To Do". You won't regret it.........even if you lose a little $$$ like we did. Thanks.

  • Breeders Cup Watch Party

by Dirk on 11/5/25Churchill Downs - LouisvilleRating: 1 out of 5

Disappointed. Spent alot of cash and got a table in the Sports Illustrated dining area for Breeders Cup Saturday. Tickets and marketing touted the day as a Breeders Cup Watch party. The buffet in the roughly $80 per seat dining area was closed and taken down around 3pm. That is before the 1st of 9 Breeders Cup races were ran for the day. No food available for the ENTIRE Breeders Cup card on tickets purchased for a "Breeders Cup watch party". I assumed food would be available in a dining area. Buyer beware.

  • Fun for a fraction of the price

We really liked our location. Tickets included a buffet and great seats.
