Churchill Downs Fall Racing Tickets

This was the first time for the Stakes Room brunch and Sunday racing. We usually go to a different area in Churchill with similar experiences and will be returning there. The ticket was $84 dollars for a subpar brunch and underwhelming cocktails. Please add additional foods, breads, vegetables, fruit and deserts. Our server informed us that we could not get a Bailey’s and coffee because there were 5 days left in the season and they didn’t have any and wouldn’t be ordering more. It seems you pay the same price as the first week, should get the same product the last week. Going outside to see the horses cross the finish line is fun, but limited visibility because of the camera crew setup. I don’t normally leave reviews but I put this event together and had two people that had never been, needless to say it did not impress.

It was a great option for an extended family Thanksgiving gathering. Lots of activities to keep everyone entertained and opportunities for catching up. The buffet food is varied and quality. Well done. The table drink service was, however, inattentive on Skye Terrace 5. We honestly would have bought more drinks if the server had stopped by our table more often. And then we had to beg for a bill for the two drinks we actually got from her. I try to tip well when I'm on those floors, taking into account the cost of our tickets and meal along with our drink cost so she did get a $20 tip on a $20 drink bill - but it could've been more.

We had a fantastic time at the races on Friday, November 10th. Originally wanted to visit on Veterans Day but Millionaires Row was sold out for a special event. So we took the next best day. We celebrated 2 birthdays that day. Loved our table and the food was great! Of course, having a drink or two is always a plus!! The weather was in the 60's. Only 9 races this day but we still had fun. Churchill Downs is currently under construction so we couldn't go down to the paddocks to see the horses but the pics of the new facility will have us back next year.

Went to the track first day. Went everywhere I was allowed to go! Just taking it all in, the horses, the beauty of Churchill Downs, standing at the finish line to hear and feel the thundering hooves. Everyone, employees of the track and attendees, very friendly and helpful. Just loved every minute! Day 2 I visited the museum and took the track tour. Our guide Ann was a delight, so knowledgeable and informative. The museum was so informative and amazing, the movie on the round screen unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. The store was incredible. Seeing the retired horse and his little buddy was such a treat. I have memories to last a lifetime! Disney World has nothing on Churchill Downs if you’re a horse lover!

Environment and racing was a 10, food is average at best.

It was a great experience. Facilities are amazing. Sportsbook is great. I enjoyed live racing as well as the sportsbook. Employees were very friendly and helpful.

Great time with great friends! We love coming to Churchill for Thanksgiving weekend. This year we went Friday and Saturday. We were in a room Friday but just did general admission on Saturday. The room was nice to come back to after walking around. Food was good too. We will definitely do a room again next year for at least one of the days.

Had a great time without doing the work. Great meal and the venue was very convenient.

I had a delicious dinner at Churchill Down prepared by all the working individuals that spent the time out of their Thanksgiving to work with the public, which includes my mother as a clerk, to make it a memorable day for people.

I ate a lot of delicious food all day. I only lost 14 dollars. It was a very good day betting on the horses and celebrating Thanksgiving Day.

My party of 11 had a fabulous day. Weather was great. Easy entrance with electronic tickets on phone. Two first time Churchill Downs visitors from out of town.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience during the walking tour and also for Day at the Races. The drinks in the Derby Cafe are out of this world! It was definitely a bucket list item and we are so happy that we decided to do it together! Seeing the horses live on the track is nothing like tv in comparison. We were new to the wager part and didn’t really have someone willing to help initially but after our “green” showed through our faces, we were told where we could find the wagering info in the program. Overall, a must do if in Louisville!

We always have a great time at Churchill Downs. We usually get seats in Millionaires Row which includes lunch when we purchase tickets. The last two times we have gone it seems they tend to begin to run out of food early. The buffet is open for three hours per the advertisement and food begins to start running out by the end of the second hour. So don’t wait until the last minute to eat. It’s always a great time.

Nice track and great viewing. Wasn’t as big a winner as we xpecfed.
