Colonial Downs Live Racing Tickets

First time and it was awesome, looking forward to attend again!

The entire staff was very welcoming and helpful, the horses and the races were top quality and safe, the food was wonderful, and all of this in a beautiful setting.

Brought tickets to watch the horse races from within the 1609 Club. Cool place with excellent views of track and field. Also has outdoor standing area. Really wonderful staff; tasty food and drink selections. Be sure to bet on the horses. Glad to have this beautiful facility here!!! Had much fun. Will return next season for sure.

Great racing experience, but allowing folks to come into the jockey club area with a dog (non service) and letting it walk around without a leash, made it even worse. It spoiled, what was a great experience, until that point. It walked right into me while I was going down the stairs to my table. I was so shocked and in disbelief to see it. Especially being that I was in the jockey club area (I am allergic to dog hairs too). I would have never thought I would run into a dog there. This was a big old fluffy dog too. I immediately did my best to get as far away from it as I could. I spent a lot of money for my seats and to have a non service dog in the jockey club area, just wandering around without a leash on, spoiled my whole experience at colonial downs that day. I could understand a service dog, but it sure wasn't one. I hope this is corrected before the start of the next seasons races or may lose me a customer.

Food and drinks were very good Had a great time Band was a nice touch

The venue is excellent and the logistics of everything is great. Parking went well, easy to access seats, betting machines, food and drinks. The management and structure of the business is lacking. I don’t know who the owners are or who is in charge but this business needs to clean house at the top of the organization. It could be so much better. I am a lifelong horse racing fan and colonial downs should be “the Saratoga of the South”. But it’s not and it’s nowhere close. Colonial needs some consultants to help them get this venue where it needs to be.

We were warmly greeted at the main entrance...great service from there to the elevator all the way to our seats and throughout the afternoon. Fabulous "picnic buffet"with premium food. Thick hamburgers, large Nathan hotdogs, homemade bread and kettle chips, tasty beans and macroni salad, full salad bar, dessert(chocolate bread pudding. Buffet constantly refreshed with attentsnt. Great view. Not crowded (Friday afternoon). So relaxing.

Wonderful visit ! Highly recommend the facility to anyone! Great horseracing! Great service! Great food!

Colonial Downs offers an excellent fun adventure and experience. Beautiful track and surrounding lands. Virginia Horse racing is awesome and growing! Virginia is the home of the great champion Secretariat, of course. 1609 clubhouse is a cool place to hang, eat, drink, and bet on the ponies!
