About

Greta Van Fleet in Concert

In three years, Greta Van Fleet went from touring the grimy rock bars of Detroit and Saginaw to headlining shows on five continents with audiences triple their hometown’s population. The band that once attracted crowds of teens to improvised forest concerts, have now sold over one million tickets worldwide. Stadiums in Italy are a far cry from a field strewn with pick-up trucks, framed by the canopy of tall coniferous trees, where they learned to love an audience. Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater is a world away from the tiny Midwestern bars where they got their start (before they were even of legal drinking age). From Frankenmuth to a tour bus across America, then their first ever flight to Europe, their newest album The Battle at Garden’s Gate, released April 16, 2021, is a reflection of their journey into the present.

So many have been positioned as the future, we’ve forgotten how to recognize the real thing. Expectations may run high, but Greta Van Fleet is indifferent to opinion. The band doesn’t have to say a certain thing or act a certain way to convince anyone of their capacity. All they have to do is play.

    Awesome! . . . except for that middle bit . . .

by TommyJames on 5/1/24Chaifetz Arena - St. Louis

I am familiar with Greta Van Fleet from being introduced to them by my youngest daughter. My initial impression of them was that they had a Led Zeppelin/Jefferson Airplane vibe and sound. I can dig that. I knew she was really excited to be able to see them, so when I saw that they were coming to St Louis, I HAD to get tickets. Fast forward to the day of the show. My daughter and her boyfriend opted to come to this show above their Junior Prom. They were dressed for the occasion and primed for a great show. They enjoyed the awesomeness of Mirador. I also thought they really brought the rock and showed that, even though this was their first live performance, that they are going to be a force to reckon with for years! Then . . . . Well . . . . There was Geese. The thing that crossed my mind is that they were an experimental prog rock kind of act. Initially, I was meh on them. Then I was just ready for them to be done . . . after their first song. I can't speak for the rest of that band, but my impression is that their vocalist was high or nervous. Maybe both. In a word: bleah. Then . . . It was all better. Greta Van Freakin' Fleet hit the stage and dominated throughout the entire set! (As a Management and Marketing major it crossed my mind that Geese was put there to make GVF that much better by comparison. That would have been wholly unnecessary, FYI.) From the opening pyro to the closing reverberations of the instruments throughout the arena, I was transfixed. Just sheer awesomeness! The songs were great! (I can scarcely carry a tune in a bucket and I am not familiar enough with the lyrics, so singing along was out of the question for me.) The solos were absolutely transcendent. Amazing Drums! Epic Guitar! We particularly enjoyed the intimate set on the small stage right below us. GVF's rendition of Unchained Melody was respectful to the original, but also their own. End to end, the set was tremendous. I would come to see Greta Van Fleet again any time. Thanks for the awesome memories and making my daughter extremely happy to see her favorite band.

    Fire

by Jester on 5/1/24Chaifetz Arena - St. Louis

Greta van Fleet put on an amazing show tonight! Their sound was great and the stage with pyrotechnics was energizing, to say the least. GvF’s stage presence was also stellar. Their opening act, Mirador, was surprisingly impressive. Unfortunately, the second band, geese, stole 45 minutes of our lives that we will never get back. There was nothing redeeming about this band - the sound, the singing, the stage presence, the name, the logo - all were very, very bad. It was torture just to get through one set. Why GvF would ever share a stage with them is unbeknownst to me. Do yourself a favor and skip this so-called band.

    Greta Van Fleet was amazing.

by FHgrad99 on 5/1/24Chaifetz Arena - St. Louis

This was the first time I've ever attended a real concert (I'm not counting seeing the Ninja Turtles lip-synching when I was 9, LOL) and I was glad I went. I had a great time. Greta Van Fleet put on a fantastic performance. If you ever get a chance to see Greta Van Fleet live, do it. They are all extremely talented and they put all of their respective talents on display on April 27, 2024. I would definitely like to attend their next concert in St. Louis, whenever that may be.

The Great Greta Van Fleet Show

by Lunaru on 4/30/24Chaifetz Arena - St. Louis

Greta Van Fleet is one of the best bands to have come out in recent years, when they first came out everyone was saying how they were trying to copy Led Zeppelin, but, being an older person that lived on rock, the sound was similar but they are by no means the same. With Starcatcher I believe they have fully come into their own as a standout and that they will be around for quite some time. Their power and sound, the solos, multiple stages, movement through the venue, and interaction with the fans make The Greta Van Fleet Show(as josh calls it), a must see. Danny Wagners drum solo was insane, Jake can truly shred, Sam rounds out instrumentals excellently, and josh has power, range, and clarity. Thank you all.

    The World needs more GVF!!!

by Dave on 4/30/24Chaifetz Arena - St. Louis

Everyone loves music, but not everyone knows what real music is. Greta Van Fleet was a reminder of what a rock show is supposed to be: Talented musicians, unique sound, a visually stimulating show (complete with pyrotechnics), crowd interaction, and EPIC rock and roll screams from Josh Kiszka! We saw people from all walks of life: young kids to senior citizens, people from all races, etc. all rocking out together to some amazing music. I will most definitely make it to a show on their next tour -- and quite possibly to a second show on this current tour!

    Overall a great concert!

by JHough on 4/30/24Chaifetz Arena - St. Louis

The first band was good. Played about 6 songs. The second band not so much. They’d be better performing at a music festival. Greta Van Fleet performed well. Maybe too maybe solos while I assume he was changing. But they performed well. Would’ve liked to hear some more of their songs they didn’t play and black smoke rising not acoustic. Overall a good performance and would see them again. Probably would spend the extra money to be closer.

    Amazing at best.

    by LADGypsy on 4/30/24

The best concert I’ve been to in 20 years. St Louis was the perfect city to introduce Jake’s new band Maridor. Which we all stood straight up and were amazed with both Jake and Chris with their harmony. Their rock, bluesy, Indy sound was pure perfection. Definitely a fan. Jake took stage again with his brothers Greta Van Fleet which always is from beginning till end an adrenaline rush the entire show. Always enter acting with the audience. All 4 a the most talented band I’ve seen and beard in 25 years. From Highway tune to Meeting the Master they have you. Ticketmaster always makes sure I know when and where my favorite bands are playing and keeps me updated. Helps me all the way till I am actually in the venue. Perfect. I wouldn’t use any other appnn

by Sylvii on 4/30/24Chaifetz Arena - St. Louis

I had anticipated this concert for MONTHS. I was so excited to have the tickets and go. Something came up, I wasn't able to go. And then I couldn't sell my tickets. I'm sure it was AMAZING.

Great show, but have a few comments

by PB on 4/30/24Chaifetz Arena - St. Louis

Mirador was phenomenal but they didn't seem to have any merch. The ticket did not list them, so I mistakenly bought a Geese shirt. Just a personal preference, but I was not a fan of Geese. Greta Van Fleet was awesome, and I loved the additional stage in the middle. However, the repetitive 10 minute guitar solo lost me and I left shortly after.

    Phantasmagorical (as Josh would say)

by mollykat12 on 4/30/24Chaifetz Arena - St. Louis

Literally perfect. I couldn't imagine a better show if I tried. If you're on the fence about going to see GVF, you have no idea what you're missing.

    Openers & 2nd Stage

by Fenix on 4/30/24Chaifetz Arena - St. Louis

This was so cool to see Jake Kiszka play twice with Mirador and GvF. For a no-name band, they were excellent. Geese, on the other hand, was frankly terrible. I had to keep telling myself that I didn't pay to come see them. Greta's performance was outstanding. My favorite part was getting to be so close to them when they played a few songs on the smaller rear stage.
