Melanie Martinez on Tour

Melanie Martinez's first major performance was no small gig. As a teenager, she sang, played guitar and tapped a tambourine with her feet to a crowd of over 12 million on national television, where she impressed three of four judges on NBC's The Voice. Since that momentous day in 2012, the singer-songwriter with the two-toned hair has quickly grown into a full-fledged pop star with a quirky alter ego (Cry Baby) to boot. Onstage, Martinez plays with a colorful, childlike whimsy with striking visuals to match. She first took her show on the road in 2014 for the Dollhouse tour, followed by the Cry Baby world tour to support her 2015 debut album. In between, she landed support slots alongside Lindsey Stirling and Adam Lambert. In 2019, to coincide with her sophomore album and first feature film, K-12, Martinez announced her next world tour.

Melanie Martinez in Concert

Melanie Martinez's surreal alt-pop draws from an array of influences, from The Beatles to 2Pac to Britney Spears, the latter who would help bring the young singer-songwriter to TV screens across the U.S. The Queens-born, Long Island–raised Martinez started writing poetry in kindergarten and taught herself how to play guitar by the time she reached high school. In 2012, during her junior year, she landed a televised audition on NBC's The Voice, where she sang Spears' "Toxic." The performance earned her a spot on Adam Levine's team. She made it to the top six before being eliminated. Keeping up the momentum of her newfound fame, Martinez started working on original music. In 2014, she released her debut single "Dollhouse." Soon after, she signed to Atlantic Records and unveiled her debut EP, also called Dollhouse. The following year, she began teasing music from her debut album, including lead single "Pity Party," a dark, dance-y spin on Lesley Gore's classic 1963 track "It's My Party." In August 2015, she released Cry Baby — a reference to her being called "cry baby" as a kid. The album debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart. To support the album, Martinez took on the role of filmmaker, directing some of her own music videos. She'd continue pursuing those ambitions for her second album, 2019's K-12, which is accompanied by its own fanciful full-length feature film, written and directed by Martinez herself.

First Time going to a Concert

by Melanie on 5/19/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

I was upset her mic broke in the beginning of the first song. I loved her and her voice and the sounds were amazing. I wish I can go to another concert in June and I absolutely loved her performance.

    Coolest Concert Ever!

by Gianna on 5/19/24Acrisure Arena at Greater Palm Springs - Palm Desert

As a die hard Melanie Martinez fan, I was so excited to go to this tour because she was performing all of her eras!! I was not disappointed at all. The production value of this concert is unlike anything I have experienced and I am planning on going again in July!! Even if you aren’t familiar with Mel’s music, the whole concert tells crybaby’s story beautifully and anyone can appreciate the amount of dedication and attention to detail that Mel pours into her work! 10/10 will be going to see all of her concerts!!

    Super Satisfying Show!

by Showtime Fun on 5/18/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

I went to the Melanie Martinez Portals tour last year and this Trilogy Tour show. The Portals show was a bit disappointing because she only performed songs from Portals. She actually just performed the entire album in the exact order of the album. No encores. No extras songs. None of her hits from before Portals. AND, she wore a mask for the entire show. We wondered if it was not even Melanie performing. Could have been anybody wearing that mask and lip synching. Fast forward to this Trilogy Tour. WOW! Night and day difference. THIS was a truly satisfying show! She performed an ENTIRE HOUR of hits from before Portals. From Cry Baby and K-12. Fantastic! And without a mask so we knew it was her. Then, she did another hour of Portals songs. 2 full hours. Great sets! Exciting stage! Fantastic dancers/band! LOVED THIS SHOW!

    AMAZING SHOW

by Wyatt on 5/18/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

Melanie put on such an amazing show. Unfortunately her mic was not on during a majority of the first song, causing us to miss almost all of the song Crybaby. The mic was not turned on until the bridge started. That was disappointing. Once the mic was turned on the show was great. Melanie’s vocals were phenomenal and her dancers were fantastic. The energy her dancers had was amazing. Melanie also did a great job when she had choreo. The costume changes were amazing. The stage and production was amazing. Watching from the upper bowl was amazing, we could see the whole show. Melanie outdid herself with the trilogy tour!

best night of my life 🦋✨

by daniel on 5/18/24Kia Forum - Inglewood

first concert i’ve ever attended and probably the best. i don’t think anything can top the experience i had that night. apart from the sound hiccup at the beginning of the set which melanie made up for with her incredible performance the rest of the show, everything was perfect. the vfx, the sets, the vocals, the dancers, the crowd, the storytelling… 10/10.

This show was so well put together, truly nothing like it. Melanie put so much detail into all albums, with the effects and the visuals. I’ve been to so many shows but hers was the best. I have so much love for her, absolutely amazing. A show everyone should see!
