LETTUCE is (a) the prime ingredient in a salad, (b) a slang for cash, (c) a green herb that can be smoked, (d) a genre-busting six-member musical collective formed in 1992 by four alumni of the prestigious Berklee College Of Music, or (e) all of the above. If you answered "e," then you're in on the sheer magic of a band that both feeds the rich history of funk and combines it with strains of hip-hop, rock, psychedelia, jazz, soul, jam, go-go, and the avant-garde.
The GRAMMY Award-nominated six-piece is comprised of Adam Deitch [drums, percussion, arrangement], Adam "Shmeeans" Smirnoff [guitar], Erick "Jesus" Coomes [bass], Ryan Zoidis [alto, baritone, tenor sax, Korg X-911], Eric "Benny" Bloom [trumpet, horns], and Nigel Hall [vocals, Hammond B-3, Rhodes, clavinet, keyboards]. To date, their discography includes Outta Here [2002], Rage! [2008], Fly [2012], Crush [2015], the EP Mt. Crushmore [2016], the live album Witches Stew [2017], Elevate [2019], Resonate [2020], Unify [2022], and now VIBE - a single 48 minute continuous session of pure, free-flowing improvisation, available digitally for the first time.
With VIBE, Lettuce cement their status as boundary-pushing innovators three decades into their lauded career, blurring lines and smashing up jazz chords, psychedelic passages, big horns, strains of soul and go-go, hip-hop elements for an uplifting, improvisational sound all their own. Ryan Zoidis explains, "we got into a vibe and hit record. 48 minutes went by like a blink of an eye. This is our first purely improvised recording. Nothing planned, nothing edited or overdubbed. This is a true spontaneous musical expression captured in its entirety."
All together now... Lett us VIBE.

From A to Z this show was magnificent! Saenger was beautiful and Tower of Power, Lettuce and the Symphony all in tune and playing all out!
I went to hear Tower of Power, and they did not disappoint. They were amazing!! So much fun!! I'd never heard of Lettuce but they were great! Very talented musicians creating a unique sound. Very entertaining!
It was a horrible experience, I couldn’t breathe with all the weed smoking going on inside the Saenger. How embarrassing and disgusting to all this behavior inside such a beautiful venue. My money was wasted along with most of the patrons there. Never again…
first time experiencing a full a philharmonic set playing with a band. very nice.
Killer band that was a lot is fun to see live. Can’t wait until they’re back in town!
Awesome band. The show at Filmore SF was fire all night long. Great energy. This band is the real deal. They bring the Funk for real! Love the show! I am a fan now even more!
The Fillmore as a venue can be compared to the experience of attending a middle school theatre production where anyone with a black t-shirt and flashlight feels empowered to speak aggressively and herd concert attendees like cattle. Don’t stand there! Not there either! Are you on the gray carpet?! No gum allowed! While I love a funky jam-band experience, Lettuce played one clunky riff after another while blasting the audience with blinding headlights as their lighting design. Not worth getting bossed around by stunted teenage bullies.
Truly one of the best live shows I have seen!!!. Lettuce is phenomenal!!!!
Wow. Just wow! These guys THREW DOWN!! They closed out their west coast tour in the most beautiful and historic venue of San Francisco, The Fillmore! This was my first time to the Fillmore and I was so happy with my concert experience. But the music Lettuce played, was JUST INCREDIBLE!!!
They played the BEST set, i love their energy as they play they really force you to feel all the vibes they have to offer, its alwasy an uplifting experience! One of the best jam bands in book! They are a great listen but even better live! I HIGHLY suggest seeing this band live!! You will not be disappointed
Lettuce flat kills it! Great show, made for a great vibe. Everyone was getting it! Great crowd. Good beer! You guys crushed this one!😊
The band, of course is the best, our favorite. Would like more information on start time for Lettuce. The only information on the tickets and website was gate opens at 7 PM and no other band scheduled. We arrived a little after 7 PM and had to listen to a DJ until 9:20 PM. Venue is awesome also with excellent service.
They rocked from opening to closing. Excellent musicians. I would go again!
The band rocked Duling Hall. The lights were especially good for such a small venue.
I went to see Lettuce at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park NJ on 4/24/22. TBH I'm not that familiar with the band, I only found them thanks to a suggestion from Apple Music. I listened to a few songs and thought it was cool and decided to dig deeper. I missed their show at Brooklyn Bowl Philly, so I jumped on and got a ticket to this show. I'm glad I did. This was one of the coolest shows I've ever seen and I've seen alot. The music was tight, the lights were fantastic and the crowd was great. I thought I would be the oldest there and was kind of self conscious at first, but I needn't have worried. Plenty of folks my age and the kids were super polite and friendly. Overall the vibe was great and I had a great time. I'll be seeking out all their music and they've gained a fan for life. I've seen other shows at the venue but honestly this was the most fun.
Had a great time smoking section is cool but could be cleaned up a little better Let us put on a great show security and staff are very helpful Big ups to Mr Michael McIntee on security at the venue
Capitol Theatre is so cool. Lettuce has remarkable musicians, great jams! The solos are unsurpassable! Go see them! Surprise appearance during the encore from John Patitucci was crazy!
Great show - always love going to the Cap. The sound was great and the light show was amaze balls!!! Lettuce killed it - such talent. Even my wife enjoyed the show and she is not a fan of "songs without words".
no singing the entire concert. They turned into a jam band, and they don’t have as many horns as before either.
I love going to see live music at the Portland State Theater. The venue is always such a great time the fans were great the band was amazing as always I've seen lettuce many times and they are definitely one of my favorites. I would highly recommend for anyone to go see their favorite band at that location.
