Goose released their debut album in 2016 and quickly took flight, playing countless shows while steadily amassing a fervent fan following for their unique brand of irresistible songcraft, fluid musicianship, and spirited improvisational performance. 2022 proved a career-defining year for the Connecticut-based quintet with their critically acclaimed third studio album, Dripfield. Fueled by such hypnotic tracks as "Hungersite" (which spent multiple weeks among the top 10 at Triple A radio outlets nationwide), the album proved a phenomenon, debuting at #2 on Billboard's "Top New Artist Albums" chart amidst critical applause from such national outlets as Rolling Stone, which hailed it as "both sweet headphone ear candy and the foundation for a perfect live peak."
Known for their exuberant grooves and incendiary bursts of musical exploration, Goose has spent much of the past decade on a seemingly infinite tour schedule that includes sold-out headline shows at such renowned venues as Morrison, CO's Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Nashville, TN's Ryman Auditorium, and New York City's hallowed Radio City Music Hall; a sold-out co-headline run alongside Trey Anastasio Band; a sold-out EU/UK headline tour, and show-stealing appearances at such festivals as Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Newport Folk Festival, Electric Forest, and Dead & Company's Playing In The Sand in Riviera Cancun, MX. Recent highlights also include a sold-out, five-night run at Port Chester, NY's historic Capitol Theater and 2023's 10th annual Goosemas holiday celebration at Hampton, VA's famed Hampton Coliseum, as well as TV performances on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and CBS Saturday Morning.
Goose are: Rick Mitarotonda (vocals, guitar), Peter Anspach (vocals, keys, guitar), Trevor Weekz (bass), Jeff Arevalo (vocals, percussion, drums) and Cotter Ellis (drums).

This run leaned into the 11:11 gateway: 't was part singalong, part 40 days and 40 nights crawling on our knees through the desert. The first three shows laid the path, framed the entrance, held our hands. Night 1 said hello with a wide smile, tail wagging, night 2 we flew into the golden eclipse afterglow, night 3 we shenanigan-ed, little souls, going everywhere, feeling everything. Last night, night 4 we left our coats at the hotel, and crossed the threshold marching lock step into the light, drums a beating. Everyone followed Rick, Peter, Trevor, Jeff, Mr. Cotter, and Vampire Weekend into the dark, dancing, new again, ready... ...slow, fast, so, so... ...ready... Consecration celebration a rise, a fall, a bite to the neck a climb higher a flight now and soon howling at the moon. Oooweooohhh!!!
Welcome Cotter! Awesome shows. They are getting better and better. The Cap in Portchester is one of my favorite all time venues. Hope they keep coming back.
Insert positive comments here. Show #48. I am enjoying the ride with all the gaggle of friends that have been made along the way.
First off, reading reviews, people just don’t get it. Leaving two star reviews for (in my opinion) the best live band around…because wherever they saw Goose had poor service, bad bartenders and or sound system. This is about the band folks. Buttery voices, insane musicians, killer originals, unique and amazing covers…not to mention they clearly are have a blast creating music. Love em and don’t listen to the haters, get on it.
You’re truly missing out if you don’t see Goose live. Their music touches you where no person can reach. Talented men just barely scratches the surface. Come back to Idaho, fellas. We LOVE you!!!
Euphoric. That summarizes this band for me, their music is inspiring and can teach. Beautiful tones & rifts that are timeless , and should last for generations to come. They are a MUST SEE live, this band is a spiritual experience for many and not just music. If it's not your thing at first, don't be surprised if later in life it is your thing. Beautiful band with beautiful music! See you at the next one with our stuffed goose ! HonK!
Too many covers. Jams were mediocre. Not the best we've heard.
The band was fabulous.!! My only issue was that the Hampton Coliseum sold general admission for the entire 9500 seat arena! It would have been nice to have a reserved seat and just leave the entire floor for general admission. As it was sold out I didn't enjoy being herded in with 9500 other concert goers! Goose was beyond amazing and I would love to see them again!!
Very talented musicians performing flawless improvisation!
