Come From Away on Tour

The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.

Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!

The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"

On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.

  • Brilliant & Moving experience

by Nana on 3/27/25Emens Auditorium - MuncieRating: 5 out of 5

Come From Away is one of my favorite shows and there is nothing about it that I don't absolutely LOVE. The music, lyrics, and story-telling is nothing short of perfect. As many light-hearted moments as there are heart-wrenching. Anyone who experienced that day in our history will be taken right back there again in a completely personal way. The band is one of the most talented I have ever seen. Love Emens Auditorium. The only truly negative experience was trying to use the headsets for the hearing impaired. We were told it was a brand new system, but the bugs are not worked out because the wi-fi connection failed a dozen times within the first 15 minutes of the show and the headset would not connect. It was frustrating and distracting and we just gave up. But that meant my date couldn't understand 90% of what was being said or sung. So disappointing.

  • amazing story and production

I'm not sure I would have wanted to see this show considering the subject matter. But I heard great things about it, and they were all true. It was an amazing story, and and amazing production. As soon as I saw it, I wanted to see it again. And I told everyone I knew if a production was going to be near their area. Wonderful!

  • Great show but delays

by Theater enthusiast on 3/6/25Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great but the crowds in the lobby made it difficult to get to our seats. Because of the crowds the show started late and the intermission took about 20 minutes or longer.

  • The auditorium was not well organized

by Teresa on 3/4/25Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 2 out of 5

We had trouble with the usher checking our ticket on smart phone. We had to go to office for them to pull up what the usher needed. The lobby was very crowded and we were unable to take our seats until 15 minutes before the play was to begin. People were walking back and forth in the very crowded lobby and a person bent down to tied their shoe. I was afraid they would get trampled that’s how crowded it was. The play started at 7:45 vs 7:30pm, likely because of it being sold out. The play was good. When we left the parking lot had one kiosk for people to pay, again very crowded. It took close to one hour to get out of the parking lot.

  • Loved it!

  • excellent show - worth the trip

by JudyB on 2/27/25Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 5 out of 5

I have wanted to see this show since it first opened on Broadway - and we now live on the Space Coast in Florida so Broadway was unlikely to happen. When I saw that the touring company would be performing in Daytona, I bought the tickets right away. Daytona isn't really that far, but we also booked a nearby hotel so I wouldn't need to drive home that night. The venue was great, but could use some help with managing the entry process. All was good once seated. I knew the story before it became a Broadway play, so I knew what to expect. What I didn't anticipate was how well it portrayed the human side of the story. It was humorous as much as it was serious - and very touching. We all remember where we were on 9/11 and those events were covered with great sensitivity. Extremely well done - and worth the drive!

  • A Top 10 play

by Flip Sides Guy on 2/27/25Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Come From Away is the true story of Canadian kindness in a time of U.S. tragedy, September 11, 2001, with planes diverted from U.S. airports to an eastern Canadian hub in Newfoundland. The locals opened their homes, facilities, and hearts to the international travelers stranded from Tuesday through Saturday during that mid-September week of crisis and change that so many remember well, but were unaware of this Canadian support. The play is touching, funny, and creatively uses minimal props, with a cast filling multiple roles and scenes, supported by songs from a band who aptly capture the seaside shanty sound. We highly recommend this musical play, now among our all-time Top 10.

by Camheart on 2/27/25Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Different from the on Broadway musical but it told the story. Difficult at times to hear in the Loge. I’d go see it again.

  • Such a great musical

  • Excellent true story musical

by Patty B on 2/6/25Capital One Hall - TysonsRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful play about a subject I know want to learn more about - planes being grounded in Newfoundland during 911. The actors and musicians were outstanding.

  • A wonderful experience

by Quoxzical on 2/6/25Capital One Hall - TysonsRating: 5 out of 5

The show handled the topic with solemnity and dignity it deserved. It didn’t shy away from the various emotions surrounding the event while at the same time letting the best of humanity shine through.

  • Amazing!

by JH on 2/5/25Capital One Hall - TysonsRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. Cast was fabulous. Capital One Hall is a great place to see a Broadway show. Seats are comfortable. Lots of places to eat before hand and plenty of parking. I liked that they dedicated the DC shows to the victims of the recent plane crash the week before.

  • Fantastic

by Phil on 2/5/25Capital One Hall - TysonsRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve seen many shows on Broadway and elsewhere. This was one of the very best. The entire cast was wonderful.

  • Absolutely loved it

by Carol on 2/5/25Capital One Hall - TysonsRating: 5 out of 5

We had an idea what the play was about, but was very pleasantly surprised at how they told the story. It was nice not having multiple scenery changes and frankly, didn’t need a “headliner” star - all were terrific. There’s no intermission for an almost 2-hour show and you don’t need one - the time flies by. Go see this show, you won’t be disappointed but be prepared to go back to a very sad and terrible time in our nations history.

  • Beautiful heartwarming story!

I was apprehensive given recent plane crashes and the musical subject. Instead, joy, rapture! The direction, cast and staging were wonderful. The musical was entertaining, moving, and enlightening. The audience gave the cast and musicians a deserved standing O!

  • Not what I expected

by IRISHLADY on 2/4/25Capital One Hall - TysonsRating: 1 out of 5

I was very excited to go see this Broadway musical. However I ended up leaving early. It was very one sided political messaging, which was a great disappointment.
