About

Hadestown On Tour

COME SEE HOW THE WORLD COULD BE.

Welcome to Hadestown, where a song can change your fate. Winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album, this acclaimed new show by celebrated singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell and innovative director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) is a love story for today... and always.

Hadestown intertwines two mythic tales — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Mitchell's beguiling melodies and Chavkin's poetic imagination pit industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, dancers and singers, Hadestownis a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go.

    Best Show Ever Seen!

by Briar on 2/26/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

I have wanted to see Hadestown for a few years now. I was super excited. So excited I was worried I had too high expectations. But this cast blew my expectations out of the water. It was an unbelievable show. Best show I have ever seen. I started crying almost immediately and never stopped! The actors playing the lead rolls more than did justice for them. Honestly based on recordings oft he original broadway cast dare I say that Orpheus in this touring show in 2024 was even better than the person who originated the roll. Truly unbelievable!

    Haunting

by Jay on 2/23/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

Amazing experience. Love the venue, love the seating. But the show- wow!!! Amazing set, blocking, and I LOVED the lighting. And the vocals, wow, so incredibly haunting. The lalalas and the MC's singing voice were extra excellent, but everyone knocked it out of the park. Did not love the lady scrolling on her phone the entire second act, but that's not on the show.

    Outstanding

by Cookie on 2/21/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

The singing acting and music just pulled you into the story. It was not my first time seeing it and the audience reactions and the gasps heard all around was priceless. I just can’t wait til next time!!!!!

    So glad we went!

by KP on 2/20/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

My daughter has been wanting to see this play for years. I thoroughly enjoyed it. So that I would enjoy the story more, I did NOT read up on it very much ahead of time which allowed me at least one gasp moment and a big fat tear or two. We think our touring "Hades"was better than the person on the Broadway tracks we've heard as were several of the other characters. Every character was spot-on in costuming and portrayal. The Fates were super-creepy and incredibly talented. Their costumes were gorgeous. Our only problem with this theater (Tanger Center) is that some bits in the wings are difficult to see from certain seats; for example, a couple of the orchestra members were practically invisible to us.

I love musicals but this was on a whole other level. I cried I laughed at one point my jaw was literally on the ground. I would see this a million times over again.

    Wonderful Show! Loved it!

by Jolly0ne1 on 2/20/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

Everything about Hadestown was excellent. The set, the story, the songs, the performances… everything! This was one of the best shows I’ve seen. On par with Wicked and Rent. The incorporation of classic Greek mythology and a modern twist was amazing. My whole group really enjoyed the show. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

    Great Show!

by Andy on 2/20/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

Loved the show! The Tanger Center in Greensboro, NC is bigger then you think, so next time I think I'll get seats closer to the stage. Even third row loge was a ways back.

by Kim on 2/20/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

The venue was great. I don't think there was a bad seat in the house!! The production was just amazing! First Broadway Play for me, but not the last. The Music and Everything was Fantastic!!
