Come From Away on Tour

The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.

Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!

The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.

Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"

On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.

Outstanding! The production, the talent! Extremely well-deserved standing O! We saw the original on Broadway several years ago, and it become one of my VERY FAVORITE shows! We are loyal theatre patrons of Count Basie, and the shows are always fantastic, but this was my absolute favorite! Kudos and congratulations to the actors, the musicians, the director, choreographer, stage manager, set designer and all the crew! Wowwwwwwwww!

Amazing production. I didn’t have high expectations seeing as it was in a local theater but I can’t imagine it being amy better on a Broadway stage. Acting was incredible, musicians were fantastic.

So much talent!! There was less than 20 people performing various roles and everyone were outstanding. At first I was hesitant but as the story unfolded I couldn't get my eyes off the stage! Just amazing! I highly recommend, you will not regret.

  • Wonderful, amazing show!

by Linda Q on 4/18/25Palace Theatre Stamford - StamfordRating: 5 out of 5

This show completely captivated me! I never really knew the back story to all of those grounded flights from 9/11. The story perfectly melded the details, events and emotions with song and dance that was top notch! The 12 main characters played multiple roles seamlessly. I know that the authors interviewed the actual people involved those days and were true to their stories. So many emotions were stirred up--tears, laughter, joy and faith in humankind and how we can step up and minister to one another. I left wanting to see this show all over again--soon! I want to catch every word. Do not miss an opportunity to see this show if it comes around again!

  • Just Fantastic!

What a talented cast of actors and musicians. Each and everyone went above my expectations. The whole play from start to finish was just so captivating and engaging. Highly recommend Come From Away!

  • Wish I could have heard it....

by Irish lass on 4/18/25Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red BankRating: 2 out of 5

No doubt the play is well done, but I was able to hear only 1/3 of the lyrics. My husband heard only 1/4. The acoustics or enunciation was muffled. We sat in first row in Loge, so I thought that was the problem, but my sister sat in the second row of the orchestra and had the same problem. People were complaining on the way out that they couldn't understand the words. Not sure what the problem was. Friends who saw it on Broadway had no such issue. I hope Count Basie can correct the problem.

  • A Wonderful Experience!

by DisneyDoug on 4/14/25Emens Auditorium - MuncieRating: 5 out of 5

I saw this musical in April, 2024, and loved it so much that I bought tickets again this year. It's the story of Gander, Newfoundland, just after the 9/11 attacks at the World Trade Center. Inbound Trans-Atlantic flights were diverted there as an abundance of caution. The residents suddenly had to welcome, feed and house 7,000 new "visitors"in a town of just 9,000. The music is great and the acting superb. The musical finale had everyone on their feet. I highly recommend it!

  • Still an awesome musical

by Gander on 4/13/25Palace Theatre Stamford - StamfordRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Come From Away on Broadway. This show has all the feels about Planes landing in Gamder on 9/11. It was really good. I was happy, it was playing at my local theater. If you haven't seen it. I highly recommend it. The theater ran out of playbills,2 sold out performances. This musical is a must see.

  • A Must See!!!

by Tami O on 4/11/25Palace Theatre Stamford - StamfordRating: 5 out of 5

I saw this musical with my daughter on Broadway some years ago and absolutely loved it! I was only sorry my husband wasn't able to attend with us, so when I saw it available again locally, I purchased tickets for the two of us. This performance was every bit as good (dare I say even better) as the first! What a wonderful heartwarming story, about the humanity of people during such a trying time in history. I can't say enough about this play and the overall presentation by the actors was absolutely top notch!

  • Fabulous production!

by CTGramma on 4/11/25Palace Theatre Stamford - StamfordRating: 5 out of 5

Come From Away (Touring) at the Palace Theatre in Stamford was excellent in every possibly way. The acting, singing, choreography, direction, and the incredible on-stage band presented a flawless performance. I saw the show on Broadway in 2019 and this was every bit as good. The company only had a 2-performance run in Stamford. I think they could have sold out more nights! My only criticism is there was no Playbill. I didn't need a book but would have liked to know the names of the actors. I'm sure it's not financially sound to print Playbills for a touring company, but a sheet of paper with the cast names would have been nice. Or, a small Playbill with the cast & crew bios that could be used generically for every stop along their tour.
