Come From Away on Tour
The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.
Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!
The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.
Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"
On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.
Absolutely amazing would have seen it again that day if it was available
It was an amazing show! Would highly recommend. They truly captured the authenticity of Newfies and their compassion.
An incredible production. Exceeded expectations. Such a simple set but used so creatively. Very entertaining
What a tremendous evening celebrating the true meaning of Newfoundlander’s open arms, open door way of life but at the same time capturing that terrible day in history. The not knowing what was going on and trying to reach loved one’s. I felt my emotions were on a rollercoaster ride. The music and singing were fantastic. The show was just fantastic. Thank you
The show was non stop entertainment spellbinding and funny! The music was awesome!
I have seen the show twice now. Both times were great. Except when I saw it in Gander it was at a smaller venue. I wasn't impressed with the seating at the Avenir Center in Moncton. It was too big. Our seats were too far away from the stage. First time at the center for an event. The performance was spectacular all around. I would fully recommend it to all. Thank you.
Great show. Venue is interesting and easy to get in and out of but was cold. Hard to hear. Very hard. I felt I missed a lot.
The show was great. The sound system fantastic even as we were seated far from the stage. For a hockey arena, I was surprised. The doors to the seating area opened late so when the show started people were still trying to find their seats. The arena seating signage doesn't have seat numbers so many people had to reverse back down the stairs, go out to the hall and come back in through a different section entry point because you couldn't get across the section without leaving the arena. A note to senior citizens, The upper seating sections, 119, 120, 121 require a tricky and somewhat difficult walk up some narrow stairs. It was made more difficult by the fact the house lights were off so we couldn't see the stairs or the row numbers on the side of the isle chairs. The attendant didn't show up, with a flashlight until 5 minutes after the show had begun, so there was no help. My wife and I used our cell phone flash light to assist others coming up the stairs and getting in to the row or seats around us. I highly recommend the performance. It was fun and entertaining. Well worth the price of the ticket.
The sound was poor, very hard to capture the whole story.
I expected to enjoy this play. Several friends recommended I see it. Having lived through 9/11 and having read many accounts of Gander and the ‘plane people’ I was excited to see the story portrayed on stage though I could not fathom how humor could be written in or how the depth of this multilayered story could be adequately staged. Come From Away had me crying and laughing and crying and remembering and in the end feeling nostalgic, grateful, happy. Simply put, I was blown away. I will be in the audience whenever Come From Away comes to town again.
Great talent , enjoyed the way the story was told thru different views using props. The set was good and loved the singing and musical talents.
The cast and musicians put on a stellar performance, full of emotion. The seamless transitions between scenes and performances by the actors was so well handled. The range of the actors within a single performance is a testament to their ability and the strong design of the show. Whether you know the story of Gander or not, this is one not to miss. It may not have the same catchy or iconic songs of some other productions but the vocals are no less impressive. Highly recommended and I would see it again!
Saw it on Boardway too! This cast was terrific! So glad that we didn't miss it!
The combination of real world historic events and how being kind can affect so mamy people was exactly what we needed in today's climate! Human kind can still rally to come together regardless of country, race, religion etc...when we need each other! Let's not have to have a catastrophic event to do it though...let's just live like this every day!
This musical was touching, emotional, funny, and clever! The cast was amazing, and the venue had only good seats! For those of us who remember what 9-11 felt like it is a must-see!
I saw the original on Broadway and loved this story. So many do not know about what took place that week other than NYC/PA and DC. I brought 4 girlfriends and my 2 adult daughters. They loved it also. The acting, singing , dancing and the story were all wonderful
This is the third time I have seen the show, twice on Broadway and it never disappoints. The touring cast is terrific. This is a great way to introduce the horrors of 9/11 to teenagers and young adults. It is so moving and emotional with a view from a distance and a tribute to the people of Gander, Newfoundland. The incredible true story of how a small community came to the aid of 7,000 strangers who literally dropped in. Make an effort to see it! You will not be disappointed.
The show was such a nice experience. Count Basie is a nice venue. One complaint, people still came in after 7:30 sharp show time and were still chatting making it difficult to hear the show. Took about 15 minutes to have everyone settle in.
Please bring more Broadway shows to Count Basie. Convenient and cost effective.
We were in the balcony with an excellent view of the stage without obstruction. Although, the seats were a bit tight. My husband who is very tall had issues with space for his legs. The theater was clean and restrooms were conveniently located. I would definitely recommend this theater for any venue
