BRANDI CARLILE IN CONCERT:
Alt-country sweetheart Brandi Carlile has crowned Billboard's Top Folk Albums chart twice since her 2005 debut, and it's easy to see why as she performs her heart-rending tunes in concert. Carlile is a world-class belter, and the perfect way her voice cracks when she goes big makes visceral tunes like "The Story" and "The Eye" all the more powerful. Country and folk are squarely in her wheelhouse, but she also dabbles in styles as diverse as rock, R&B, and blues, making for a dynamic concert experience anchored by her elegant songwriting and emotive voice. Whether she's performing songs from 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter or making jaws drop with her soaring cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", Carlile never fails to impress ticket buyers with her poise, gorgeous voice, and good-natured stage presence.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Brandi Carlile was born and raised in rural Washington state, where she began performing with her mother and brother at age eight. She taught herself to play guitar, and by her teens she was penning her own songs and singing backup for an Elvis impersonator. By her twenties she was performing in Seattle's music scene with her twin brothers, and in 2004 she signed with Columbia Records. Her self-titled 2005 debut topped Billboard's Folk Albums chart, introducing fans to her powerful voice and heart-on-sleeve songwriting. She teamed up with legendary producer T Bone Burnett for her 2007 sophomore album The Story, with stellar results -- the album peaked at No. 10 on the rock charts and scored a breakthrough hit with its title track. Since then Carlile has toured extensively and released four more acclaimed albums including 2011's Live at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Symphony and 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter.

Perfect venue for a solo performance by Brandi Carlile! There were no bad seats and the acoustics were amazing! Thank you for an amazing evening!!
I saw her with her band in Atlanta in September, which was epic! But this performance, just her, her guitar(s), piano and a mic was AHHHHHMAZING!! And her adorable niece Caroline!! Loved that! My oldest child is Caroline so that was extra special! The whole concert I had goosies on top of goosies!!
Brandi was sooo terrific. Talented, funny, enthusiastic, personable, creative and a beautiful person. Excellent set list.
Sound was way too loud, flashing lights entirely too bright-headache inducing. We had to leave.
Brandi Carlile shone bright in Durham. If you were lucky enough to catch her this time around, you know what I’m talking about. Carlile was born to write, sing, and play, and I was lucky enough to be in the audience, along with an enraptured full house. Playing new and older material along with some stunning covers on guitar and piano, just wow.
Loved every minute of it! She sang her heart out! New and old music.
Great Show!! Quality performance! Can’t wait to see her again & again
What a talent Brandi is. Phenomenal show! She keeps getting better.
Thoroughly enjoyed this solo performance - the energy and joy was radiant. ❤️
She seemed like she would never get off the stage. Pure talent and strong voice. A night to remember. Her covers made the show.
Lighting was great. sound was great. Brandi was great. Catherine was great! everything about both nights...but especially 2/17 was phenomenal
Brandi solo is better than 99% of the top bands playing as a group. She has one of the most incredible voices of any singer, regardless of genre. One of the few artists who sounds as good if not better live than on a studio recording. Her story telling is unsurpassed. She can play guitar and piano which she uses as a full band. I would definitely see her again!. Oh, and seeing her in a small venue like The Capital is as good as it gets.
Great to see Brandi up close and acoustic. She was amazing. It was special that her wife came out and played with her and that their kids were there to watch. Only downside was the cost. Tickets, merch, and concessions were all over priced.
Brandi Carlile constantly surpasses expectations! I saw her at MSG in October and thought it was one of the best shows I’d EVER seen, but the Feb 17th show at the Capital theater was even better. It was just her and a guitar (or piano) and her talent just shined through. One of the most awesome moments was when she stepped in front of the mic and sang without any amplification. The audience was silent as her voice carried to the top of the room. I’ve never seen an artist do something like this before and I still get goosebumps thinking of it! She is one of the most talented artists around.
Brandi was amazing! Great set list and incredible voice! She even did a song in front of the mic and the acoustics were awesome! Brandi has such a positive energy and her songs are so personal yet fit all of our lives. I don't have enough words to describe what a glorious show this was!
I have been to hundreds of concerts, this was hands down one of the best. Brandi has talent beyond words. Many people in my section were moved to the point of tears. Beyond her musical talent, is her charming personality, which captivated the audience. Her stories about her wife and kids, were funny and heartfelt. She also had her wife onstage to sing with her, and they sang in beautiful harmony. Simply amazing, can’t wait to see her again.
She was so amazingly talented sang beautifully played guitar and piano Great night
Quite simply, there is not a better performer out there now ! You listen to Brandi sing and you marvel at what you're hearing. The quality, range and sincerity of that voice is hard to believe - and it's that way for EVERY SONG ! Been a fan of hers for many years and she just keeps getting better and better, which I thought was inconceivable. You must experience Brandi at some point if you're a music fan. Been to about 2700 concerts and she's top 5 ! W O W
Was lucky enough to see Brandi Carlile’s one-woman show (Brandi Unplugged, if you will) and it felt like a historic event. All she needed was a microphone, her guitar and a piano to light the world on fire. One of the world’s greatest voices and talents - ever. You haven’t truly lived until you’ve seen her life. A tour de force performance.
This show was part of a few solo shows that Brandi was doing and was one of my favorite shows of her. The song selections were fantastic, a number of deep cuts, some covers and plenty of her most popular songs, but what I really enjoyed were the stories that she shared about the songs, her wife and children, the twins and a lot about her life. It truly felt that she was really enjoying herself and was incredibly appreciative of the opportunity to entertain us and to spend time with us. A truly memorable evening.
