BRANDI CARLILE IN CONCERT:

Alt-country sweetheart Brandi Carlile has crowned Billboard's Top Folk Albums chart twice since her 2005 debut, and it's easy to see why as she performs her heart-rending tunes in concert. Carlile is a world-class belter, and the perfect way her voice cracks when she goes big makes visceral tunes like "The Story" and "The Eye" all the more powerful. Country and folk are squarely in her wheelhouse, but she also dabbles in styles as diverse as rock, R&B, and blues, making for a dynamic concert experience anchored by her elegant songwriting and emotive voice. Whether she's performing songs from 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter or making jaws drop with her soaring cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", Carlile never fails to impress ticket buyers with her poise, gorgeous voice, and good-natured stage presence.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Brandi Carlile was born and raised in rural Washington state, where she began performing with her mother and brother at age eight. She taught herself to play guitar, and by her teens she was penning her own songs and singing backup for an Elvis impersonator. By her twenties she was performing in Seattle's music scene with her twin brothers, and in 2004 she signed with Columbia Records. Her self-titled 2005 debut topped Billboard's Folk Albums chart, introducing fans to her powerful voice and heart-on-sleeve songwriting. She teamed up with legendary producer T Bone Burnett for her 2007 sophomore album The Story, with stellar results -- the album peaked at No. 10 on the rock charts and scored a breakthrough hit with its title track. Since then Carlile has toured extensively and released four more acclaimed albums including 2011's Live at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Symphony and 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter.

    hauntingly beautiful voice

by holagata on 7/13/09TCC Leo Rich Theater - Tucson - Tucson

This was one of the best performances I've ever seen. Incredibly intimate, Brandi and the twins were able to interact with the crowd. The entire show was acoustic. At one point they "unplugged" entirely, Brandi walked around the microphone and amps, and sang a cappella. No problem for her big voice. She deftly navigated covers from John Lennon to Johnny Cash. Relayed an anecdote about the day she met Elton John. Eternally charming. The only way it could have been better is if she were still touring with Indigo Girls

Felt this venue was terrific. The facility is extremely fabulous for viewing and being up close to the entertainer. Food, drinks were well made for this type of entertainment. Am planning to return soon and bring friends to this place. Price for concert was real good at $25 per person.

    Carlile unplugged: WOW!!!

by coolaudio on 7/13/09TCC Leo Rich Theater - Tucson - Tucson

Brandi Carlile performed for 2hrs at the acoustically correct Leo Rich Theater in Tucson and the room suited her skills perfectly. She is quite capable of rocking the house with full band (i.e. at the Rialto) or providing her delicate balance of voice, guitar and blend of harmonies in an acoustic setting. She never fails to please me with her performances.

Doesn't get any better than Brandi Carlile live.

by BrandiAllDay on 7/13/09House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

This was the best concert I have seen. Better than James Taylor, Elton John or the Police. She was awesome. We will be going back to see her again.

    Brandi was amazing!

by Andymusic on 7/13/09House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

Honestly, Gregory Alan Isakov could have been better. The sound quality was off and I was slightly worried about how Brandi would sound. It was perfect. The acoustic tour really showcased her voice, which was amazing. It was a great concert.

The show was fantastic. Brandi and her guys put on a flawless show. She even had the whole band play in front of the speakers totally unplugged. The songs were great, the crowd loved it, and the sound was HOB finest. Thanks!

so much better than I imagined it could be

by caitlincheek on 7/12/09House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

I love Brandi, so I was expecting a good show. I saw her last year with A Fine Frenzy. Having enjoyed that show so much, I was excited about the acoustic evening. I didn't realize it would be such an intimate performance. One of my favorite things about Brandi Carlile (besides her singing/songwriting, of course) is that she seems like someone who I could have a beer with and the acoustic show just encouraged that fantasy. Brandi and the rest of the band was so phenomenal. My girlfriend--only somewhat familiar with Brandi--couldn't stop talking about the show!

Brandi Carlile was simple mind blowing.

by loriab on 7/12/09House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

This was the fourth Brandi Carlile concert that I've been to. She is an amazing artist who truly just keeps blowing my mind. When I think there is no way she could top a certain song she writes another that exceeds it! She sounds even more amazing in concert than on her albums. She's funny and has a unique way of connecting with the audience. Love her!!!
