BRANDI CARLILE IN CONCERT:
Alt-country sweetheart Brandi Carlile has crowned Billboard's Top Folk Albums chart twice since her 2005 debut, and it's easy to see why as she performs her heart-rending tunes in concert. Carlile is a world-class belter, and the perfect way her voice cracks when she goes big makes visceral tunes like "The Story" and "The Eye" all the more powerful. Country and folk are squarely in her wheelhouse, but she also dabbles in styles as diverse as rock, R&B, and blues, making for a dynamic concert experience anchored by her elegant songwriting and emotive voice. Whether she's performing songs from 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter or making jaws drop with her soaring cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah", Carlile never fails to impress ticket buyers with her poise, gorgeous voice, and good-natured stage presence.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Brandi Carlile was born and raised in rural Washington state, where she began performing with her mother and brother at age eight. She taught herself to play guitar, and by her teens she was penning her own songs and singing backup for an Elvis impersonator. By her twenties she was performing in Seattle's music scene with her twin brothers, and in 2004 she signed with Columbia Records. Her self-titled 2005 debut topped Billboard's Folk Albums chart, introducing fans to her powerful voice and heart-on-sleeve songwriting. She teamed up with legendary producer T Bone Burnett for her 2007 sophomore album The Story, with stellar results -- the album peaked at No. 10 on the rock charts and scored a breakthrough hit with its title track. Since then Carlile has toured extensively and released four more acclaimed albums including 2011's Live at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Symphony and 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter.

I've seen Brandi Carlile the band 3 times now, but was blown away by Brandi's solo gig at Tilles Center. She was incredible. To be able to hear her music so intimtely, acoustic, and so stripped down was an amazing experience. Brandi's voice sounded so great (we did miss some of the 3 part harmonies with the Twins) and it turns out she is also an incredible guitarist. Without the twins there, the spotlight was on Brandi for two hours plus and she delivered. She finds such an intimate groove with her audience and she enjoys every single minute. Her fans revere her. Brandi Carlile is a gift to us and to the world of music.
Brandi was great!! What a voice!! She is so sweet and down to earth. I loved the show!
Best concert I have seen in a while. The venue had great acoustics .
In a nutshell - there's no greater concert experience ! She is mindbogglingly GREAT ! Everyone seemingly overwhelmed and into her as much as an audience can be
Unbelievable experience Brandi Carlile is a true legend and a voice of a decade so blown away
Brandi was great, & her voice so beautiful, but it was almost impossible to hear the words of her songs because the audio was set so loud that the sound was distorted, and the fans didn't help the cause either with the noise they made. The absolute BEST place to hear the concert was in the restrooms where the audio was piped in so clearly & the fans' interruptions couldn't be heard. Brandi's voice is too good to miss.
While my son attends LIU, I have never been inside the Tilles Center. I was impressed by the easy and unstressful experience, from arrival at the campus, parking, and accessing the theater to being seated. In all honesty, I avoid concerts because the experience can feel overwhelming for me. My anxiety increases when I am surrounded by chaos and crowds. I was so happy with how put together this venue felt that now I have alerts set up for events taking place at the Tilles Center. Lastly, the staff, from security to ticket checkpoint reps and escorts to seating, really should be credited for most of this. Kudos to them!
First time at the Tillis Center. Awesome venue. Staff was great. Brandi Carlisle was amazing
Brandi’s voice is incredible and her songs touch your soul. If you haven’t seen her, go!
Exceptional venue for this amazing artist. Only criticism is very long and slow line to get drinks.
Amazing performance, great musician. Cannot recommend enough!
Having never seen her, I enjoyed this solo performance. I was do happy yo hear the notes of her piano and guitar. So often, it gets lost. She was engaging. Her audience was into it.
Brandi Carlile was phenomenal. A consummate performer and storyteller. But there were four drunk women in the row ahead of us who insisted on bellowing along to every song and yelling and doing the wave like they were at a football game. A gentleman in front of them politely asked them to quiet down and then went to get an usher, who had no more success—“It’s a CONCERT,” they yelled, and kept right on behaving as if they were the only people in the auditorium. I like a drink at a show, but some people can’t be trusted not to get hammered, and then all the rest of us can’t have nice things. The Tilles Center is a wonderful venue in every way, but maybe they need a bouncer for the people who got lost on their way to the stadium.
Beyond words - exceptional! Don’t sleep on BCB!!!!!
I attended Brandi's Friday night's performance at the Tilles Center with my sister. We were seated center back and had a great view. Brandi was awesome-great musician, singer, storyteller. I'm one of the fans who came late to the party, and I'm glad I did. Bought CD and going to library to read "Broken Horses."I would definitely see Brandi again and other concerts at Tilles.

Brandi is a consummate performer who has wonderful rapport with her audience. She never took a break & came back to sing more of her music. Don’t miss seeing her if u have a chance!
This show was exactly what I needed. My wife and I haven’t seen Brandi solo since 2005 at a small club in NYC, that night was incredible and sealed my wife and I for life. 🥰 We have supported Brandi through the years and have watched her only shine on in such a way that everyone around us has felt her gravitational pull. This solo night was a bit of a flashback and forward all at the same time. We still always highly recommend Brandi Carlile with or without the full band, she and they are all exceptional talents! Enjoy the show!
I’ve seen Brandi with her band and it was tremendous. The solo experience was equally great. Tilles and Ticketmaster should inform that in left and right balcony there are some seats with obstructed view and lesser quality acoustics. Had to find a place to stand for second half because I needed to hear and see every wonderful second of her show.
