The Irish are coming! The Irish are coming! Northern Irish dance-punk trio Two Door Cinema Club have stormed the urban scene with their fresh indie new-wave sound. Think of them as your ticket to catchy dance music without the guilt.
If you've been to any cool-kid parties with plenty of PBR or watched a Microsoft Outlook commercial you've heard Two Door Cinema Club. The debut single "Something Good Can Work" was originally released in 2009 on a trend-setting compilation from fashion house/record label Maison Kitsunè. If you can't remember it catch it on Youtube (it has nearly 15 million views).
Following in the footsteps of French dance-pop phenomena Phoenix and '80s icon Duran Duran, Two Door Cinema Club recorded their debut 2010 album Tourist History at Eastcote Studios in London. Mixed by Phillip Zdar, his vision was to punch up the beat with rich bass and foot-stomping rhythm. While on tour with Alt-J, Chvrches, Peace and St Lucia, stopping a venues like Fillmore (Philadelphia), their live sets turned into impromptu dance parties, not even the most passive fans couldn't resist the groove.
Their sophomore album Beacon, produced by Jacknife Lee was released in September 2012 and reached No. 17 on the U.S. Billboard 200 with singles" Sleep Alone" and "Sun." Well thought hooks, good beats, and fearless when it comes to having fun, Two Door Cinema Club is going to have many honorary members wanting to join in.
Could not complain one bit ! They were amazing. They brought back my middle-high school nostalgia. Great energy, great crowd !
I have seen 2 door Cinema club before and was a lot of fun. this concert seemed rushed, sound mixing was off, a few songs were off key and the show started earlier and ended with no encore. Totally under-whelming...and disappointing.
They put on one hell of a show. The lights, the energy, the music was amazing. And to have Day Wave open for them was just the cherry on top.
My 16 year old self was satisfied to the maximum. So much fun, such good energy.
Played lots of their older songs that had everyone up dancing and singing along!
I’m always excited to see Two Door Cinema Club. They’re incredibly infectious to dance to and their dream pop/rock melodies and stadium like anthems are the perfect way to dance all night. I see them everytime they come to my city and always enjoy a night out listening to their music!
TDCC put on an amazing show, but the sound quality at the paramount has disappointed me every time I've seen a show there (with the exception of theater). It's always muffled and hard to hear regardless of the kind of music being performed. Such a shame bc TDCC are great performers and the show would've been fantastic otherwise.
Outstanding, energetic performance by Two Door Cinema Club — always a high-energy show. Beautiful venue. Can’t wait to see them again this year.
Honestly the show and setlist where unbelievable. Concerts haven't felt the same since pandemic for me, but the experience of Two door cinema was just breathtaking. Pure goosebumps!! Thanks Kevin for feeling better. We love you!!!
Saw them live a few years ago in North Park and seeing them again was still so good!
I went to the show @ Fox Theatre in Oakland. Was a very great show, with great vocals and a fun performance. The setlist was awesome and all-around great time. I was a Happy Customer.
This was my son‘s first concert and we were front row and center. I’ve come to love this venue and think of it is home now that I’ve seen several shows at this amphitheater. Two door Cinema club is one of our favorite bands and they did not disappoint! They are master musicians, and the energy they brought was off the charts from the first song to the last of their 24 song set list. Amazing! I’m sold – – will make an effort to see them anytime they are close. I wish they’d have played a second night, as we would’ve gladly gone twice
This was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. The energy was high and the performance was even better than anticipated. I would see Two Door every single time they return to my area, that is how much fun I had and how incredible they were! Do yourself a favor and go to one of their shows, you won’t regret it!
Two Door Cinema Club's concert was an absolute blast! From the moment they stepped on stage, the energy was infectious, and the crowd was buzzing with excitement. Their performance was flawless, with each song delivering a perfect blend of catchy melodies and irresistible beats.
my friend just brought me along because he had one extra ticket. not a fan but really had a blast! thanks for giving a good show!!
Went to the ATL show in Feb & it was good but what was disappointing was that the show did not last even a full a HOUR :/// . & the set was good but none of their signature songs were played, which I wouldn’t have cared but then given that the rest of the tour they did??? Overall it was fun, but mainly bc of the cool ppl I met. Not sure if I’d paid for another show though
I had a lot of fun, it was a great experience and all of the people around me seemed great and very into it. The only thing I would suggest is that if you aren’t great with loud noises for long period of time maybe bring some earplugs or a similar noise cancelling device because one of the people in front of me didn’t and was clearly regretting that choice. The show looked and sounded amazing with bright lights (those who aren’t great with flashing lights be warned) and good sound quality. Overall, I really enjoyed the show and will be going when they come back to Toronto at the end of July :)
I flew in from Halifax to see TDCC and I could not have had a better experience. The opening performance from Joywave was incredible. The lead singer has a great sense of humour and great stage presence. -- they've earned themselves a new fan. #LegalizeJoywave TDCC was jaw-dropping. The stamina to perform over 20 songs, with only a few short breaks was nuts! I was happy to hear them play a combination of their older more well-known songs and the favourites of their newer albums. I bawled like a baby during the final song. The History venue was stunning and intimate. Despite arriving only 15 minutes before the doors opened, I managed to grab a GA spot only a few rows back from the stage. The security, bar staff, and merchandise staff were efficient and kind. I only wish TDCC would play more shows in eastern Canada so I could do it all again.
The venue was great, the atmosphere was fantastic and the concert was just perfect. One of the best concerts I've been too. Nothing crazy at all. It was just a really good time
Both performances were spectacular. Venue was clean and well staffed, everyone I interacted with was very kind and helpful. The only problem I had was with the stage lights for the main show, which I don't think is within the venue's control anyway. Anyone with photosensitive epilepsy would have been absolutely screwed by the flashing and extremely bright lights.
