I love this venue and see many bands here. Eric is an icon but for the price of the tickets it was very disappointing.
Malcolm McDowall, the actor, introduced Eric as he walked onto the stage. So exciting! The music was great. It was my first time seeing The Animals and I loved hearing all their songs that I grew up with. I was sitting in the second row from the stage and it was one of my favorite shows ever!
The Show was great I Love the venue however the concession/Bar is not adequate for a venue that size. I waited 35 minutes to get soft drinks and water! It was a good thing the opening act was not very good....
Thoroughly enjoyed the concert! Eric Burdon still has it. And the musicians were superb. Wonderful evening.
Eric knocks it out of the park. 90 minutes of non stop hits. Brought to life in varied versions of his classic hits. The Animals were a solid backup band including a bras section that provided some of the best highlights of the evening. Be sure to read up in Eric’s amazing life before attending its brings the entire evening into an a different appreciation of the greatness your seeing on stage. Be sure to see Eric if he has a show near you.
Wonderful show with the legendary Eric Burdon (The Animals). He sang all his greatest hits which the audience loved. He can still belt them out.
Eric is now 78, white haired and shuffles like an old man does later in life. He is still passionate about performing and has decent tone for a man his age! He started the concert with "Spill that Wine" followed by 4-5 blue's songs I have never heard, and ended with some of the old time hits (The House of the Rising Sun, We gotta get out of this place", and Momma told me not to come)" Also, he takes it upon himself to alter the lyrics and tone of the songs vs his original recordings.
Burdon is amazing.. his voice never falters, apparently never ages.. I've seen him over the decades & have NEVER been disappointed.. he always gives his all. Don't miss him!
I've been a fan of Eric Burdon for many years, and recognize him as a true icon in rock history. However, the 78 year old's recent concert at Humphreys in San Diego was far from his best! He did nothing to recognize the audience nor show any kind of affinity for San Diego and the unique venue. He was obviously struggling with his throat, and sprayed it frequently. He spent much of the concert doing very obscure songs that were not crowd pleasers, by any means. At the end, he seemed to decide to call it a night and say, "Well, thanks much for coming," and walked off stage. Many of his hit songs were left off the set list, an obvious disappointment. I've seen Eric many times before, but because of his poor performance, it will be my last time.
Eric Burdon is the most micro manager I have ever seen. He didn’t know the name of his drummer. So sad & disappointing
