It was a lovely evening and I thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment on that nite. The service staff was very kind and professional and for a busy place as it was that nite, the service was better then good. The one thing I would like to mention is I overheard a few people discussing how the tip is included in the total yet there is a line for tip. I think that needs a little tweeking. :)
Eric Burdon sounded fantastic! Much better than the last two times we saw him at B.B.Kings. He looked great too. I liked him better without the female companion he had on stage. He's too old for such a young performer and he didn't need that kind of attention. I was a little disappointed that he didn;t play that long and several of his biggest songs were omitted.(spill the wine). Anyway my husband and I will see him again whenever you get him to perform.
The years (69 of them) may not have been all that kind to ole Eric, but God sure blessed his voice. HIs vocals were strong, perfectly controlled and way full of feeling, as great as when I first saw him (with my parents) live in '65. But his intensity sometimes separated him from his audience. I might suggest a little more conversation with us audience folk to warm things up . The venue, BB King's Blues Club, is also the best. Being up close and personal with the band as well as being served great food & drink makes for an awesome evening out. Next up for me at BB King's is Johnny Winter in Jan.'11. Be there.
Very very good concert!!!! Hope he continues to play. Would definitely go to another one.Voice was perfect, like he was 20 years old again.
I was around when House of the Rising Son was first released and have been a fan ever since. I caught a televised concert by Burdon a little while ago and it convinced me that I had to see him live. This performance did not disappoint. I was floored (as was the entire audience) by Burdon's (and The Animals') driving renditions of all of the "old" material as well as of his new song. Burdon has aged like a fine wine and I think he is better than ever. His voice has gained the deep, soulfull believability that only comes from paying your dues for decades. The venue was perfect for this event and the place was rocked for the entire show. Incredible!!!!!
I attend many concert events on an annual basis and have seen a wide range of performers. Eric Burdon has the energy, voice, showmanship and the talented backing band to stand up to any Ive seen. This was truely an amazing show that I would highly suggest that even the casual concert goer see.
It was a great show Eric Burden sounded great! The show was very bluesy! He sang all the greatest hits but I was bummed he didnt play Spill The Wine or Sky PIlot! The drinks were stiff!!!
October 22 2010 Full moon over Michigan. Eric Burdon & The Animals playing the old songs. This was a very cool concert in a smaller venue. Eric Burdon wow! His voice is still strong. From the first song of "When I was Young" to the last encore Eric's voice boomed the old hits songs and some new songs about war peace and why cant we all get along and live together in this world. The band (new members) had the music down and sounded great Eric rocked.Gray hair and age has just mellowed Eric Burdon like a fine wine
Bets concert I ever attended, andiamos was the prefect venue. Eric and the Animals played perfectly. I brought my 16 year son who loved them! He is a huge Eric Buron fan. Only wish we could have gotten an autograph, but you cant get everything in life :)
Not much dialogue with fans but plenty of jams. Enjoyed When I was Young and We gotta get out of this place the best. Mised Spill the Wine. Very enjoyable however. First time at this club.
i really enjoyed the show, eric was in his usual form and the band was pretty much spot on, i wasnt totally impressed with the andiamo celebrity showroom but the music was enough to make up for the venues lack of expierience with a top act like mr burdon.
This concert in the small venue was fantastic. It was great to hear the old songs from the 60's. Eric got the crowed up dancing and we got to remember all the moments from when those songs were first played. Love those British rock groups.
Nice show. Eric still sings well. Played his hits. Overall a lot of fun.
Eric was great ! Music was the Animals basic classics, with added blues. Too bad there was no room for more of the classics. The opening act of the ex-Dick Purtan guy was tortuous at best. A complete waste. Spend the bucks and have Eric burden do a second act. The second act was a comedian guitarist... ok funny... I came to see Eric Burden. Get the message yet? The Andiamos commercials on the TV screens were painfully too loud. Don't plan on using your Andiamos card for points... there aren't any.
It was surprising that he still had so much energy. The background music was not so loud that you couldn't hear him sing. There was a wide range of ages, and everyone enjoyed themselves. All in all it was a great evening.
Eric Burden inserted new lyrics in some songs and did not sing many of the known lyrics for his songs. In many cases the song was a modified and shortened version. His staccato delivery made some of the lyrics unrecognizable. Also many were disappointed that "Sky Pilot " was omitted to make room for some music which was not part of his recognizable fame.
My wife and I saw this show and enjoyed it very much. Eric Burdon still is good although much older and his band The Animals were excellant too, very good musicians. The only complaint I have is with Andiamo's seating. When I bought the tickets it had us in seats 1 & 2, which means nothing. You get your table number but seat numbers are first come firt serve. We learned that after seeing "Elvis to the Max" last year, even though we had seat numbers, we couldn't even sit next to one another so if you go to Andiamo's for a show, get there when doors open so you can get a good seat. But Eric Burdon is worth the money any time you get a chance to go.
Eric Burdon and the Animals are still at the top of their game. Pushing 70, the rebel still has his edge and commanding stage presence. It was a great evening of great music from a great band.
