  • World Ballet Series: Nutcracker

    by drobin3 on 12/4/23Alex Theatre - GlendaleRating: 5 out of 5

A very new and entertaining version of the Nutcracker. A lot of dance and not a lot of play, which I believe it to be a better presentation. I will look for them next year.

  • Awsome

Had a great time watching the Nutcracker, show started and ended in a great time. Valley was $40.00 and took longer than expected to get my car. Only a few workers.

  • World Ballet Series, nutcracker 11/30/23

by TS on 12/3/23Alex Theatre - GlendaleRating: 4 out of 5

The performance was excellent, there was even inclusions of all around the world in nutcracker which was an interesting and new concept! The audience though we're so rude and not attentive. Some people kept walking back and forth without paying attention to blocking everyone's view, kids screaming, etc. Overall the venue and performance was worth it.

  • Amazing!

by Merika on 12/2/23Alex Theatre - GlendaleRating: 5 out of 5

I grew up from reading the nutcrackers, to actually having a nutcracker doll! This performance was beautiful! It made my inner child extremely happy! I took my mom and she also thought it was beautiful ❤️

  • Beautiful and inspiring

by Mercedes and Modesto on 12/2/23Rating: 5 out of 5

The ballet was very well performed, especially on the emotional side. The dancers were enjoying what they were doing, this was not a routinely executed task but something felt from the heart. This enjoyment was clear for us and very pleasurable. My wife and I noticed a lot of kids in the audience, they seemed to enjoy the show as much as their parents, and this was also notable. We are recommending our friends to go and see this show. In a world that is being bombarded with unsettling news, this performance brings a breadth of fresh beauty and enjoyment that we all have to be thankful for.

  • Imatation of real Nutcracker

by Jim Treftz on 12/27/22Palace of Fine Arts - San FranciscoRating: 2 out of 5

This was simply a ballet and aside from a couple of rats, there was no relationship to the Nutcracker for children. Show was schedule from 7pm to 10pm and it was over at 9pm including an intermission. This Ballet could be performed any month of the year and would make no difference. Each scene is very repetitive.

  • Fantastic performance

by Marie on 12/27/22Alex Theatre - GlendaleRating: 5 out of 5

From the location to the gorgeous costumes. This performance was everything you wanted from a Christmas tradition. There was only one male performer who continued to stare at the audience instead of being involved in the ballet. Other than tthat is was wonderful!

  • The ballet was very beautiful, but the audience...

by Lilit on 12/27/22Alex Theatre - GlendaleRating: 5 out of 5

The ballet was very beautiful, but the audience should not be allowed to eat during the show. This is not a movie theater and one can retrain himself from eating during these 2 hours. It is not polite, not nice to all the other audience enjoying the show, and first of all it is not polite towards the actors performing. During the whole show we could hear cracking of chips everywhere. That was shocking to us, who had previously watched ballet only in other countries.

  • Nothing, but a good time.

The show was so, well told. The dancer's really did well. I would recommend it to anybody that I encounter. It was very well done.

by Geese on 12/25/22Palace of Fine Arts - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

The experience was a very nice one. I would recommend the play to anybody that asked. Also the way tickets were transferred to the phone was a great idea. I will do that anytime I purchase tickets.

  • It is a miracle!

by keyliudmila@yahoo.com on 12/25/22Palace of Fine Arts - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

What I experienced at the ballet "The Nutcracker" is a miracle. The bright colors in the costumes, the splendor of the costumes themselves, the scenery... and the artists themselves: the lightness in the ballerinas, how they fly, soar in the air like "snowflakes". Thank you for this winter Christmas tale! May the Lord bless you and fill all your needs according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ!

  • Wonderful, Wonderful!

by Laura on 12/25/22Palace of Fine Arts - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

My family have attended various companies performances of the Nutcracker but this was was by far the most colorful, beautiful, and sweet version. A lush, rich, jewel of eye candy. The performers were suberb. This will now the performance we will plan to make a yearly tradition.

The dancers were very professional but the Nutcracker has been shortened and it's cultural and historical charm has been stripped away. The authentic historical cultural details of this production that make it so engaging have been scaled down. The music was recorded. There was no program so no information on the dance artists. I was very disappointed. There was no nutcracker.
