The Theatre was nice. Loved it. The play was good as well. Nice staff.
Our annual mother/daughter Nutcraker Ballet choice this year was amazing! This Nutcracker performance was absolutely incredible, by far the best my daughter and I have ever attended. Stunning costumes, breathtaking performances, and a beautiful theater Thank you!!
The show was great. Only thing about it would be to have it narrated. If you don't already know the storyline it is just a bunch of people dancing. I took my wife to see it for first time and she was lost on the storyline but enjoyed the ballerinas. Now the theater was another thing. I am 6'5"and was not aware that the seating was designed for people 5' or under. It was a painful experience. We had balcony seats and I spent the whole show sitting sideways in a seat with my knees jammed into a sharp rail. If your tall the only place you can sit is the very front row in the bottom. I will not make the mistake of ever going to he balcony again.
I’ve seen The Nutcracker performed many times by world class ballet dancers, as well as local ballet troupes. While this performance was adequate, it was certainly not worth the prices that were charged for tickets.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of this performance; it seemed perfect in every way. The second half wasn't quite as enjoyable, even a bit tiresome, but that has more to do with the music than the ballet. (Sorry, but Tchaikovsky seems to have run out of ideas for the second half.) But the costumes were great, the dancing impressive (if sometimes wobbly at the more difficult moments), and there were even some special effects that impressed me -- in particular the magician's floating wand. Even now I ask myself, "How'd they do that?"Worth watching!
This show was definitely worth the wait! I heard I lady say she has been waiting for 70 years! I hope it comes back to Hattiesburg next year as well.
Love it Would highly recommend it for anyone of any age Stunning and beautiful
I thought it was amazing! My girls were spellbound and they were very sad they couldn't meet every one of the dancers that night!
The ballet was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable. The only things I was disappointed in were the prices of concessions and the fact that the souvenir stand shut down before the end of the show so I was unable to purchase anything. I spent the intermission waiting in line in the bathroom so I had no time then. At the concession stand I purchased a "large"popcorn. Didn't look like the movie theater large but okay. However, there was a 2 inch space between the popcorn and the top of the bag. For $7 it should have been almost overfilled. Also purchased hot cocoa. It was an 8 oz cup and cost $3. Ridiculous. I will definitely come to more shows. But I will not be purchasing from the concession stand. It's a rip off.
The dancers were very good. The little ones adorable. The costumes were lovely and the music beautiful. I really enjoyed the experience, on the whole. My only complaint is that people were allowed to enter after the performance had begun. This blocked my view of a good portion of the Xmas party scene. Very annoying. Then the same thing happened after the break. I have never had this happen before and can't understand why it was allowed this time
I’ve seen the Nutcracker every Christmas for as long as I can remember. This performance left much to be desired. It seemed to be missing key parts of the usual story, there was no antagonist, and the Mouse King was not a big part of the show. Underwhelmed is the best way to describe it.
Loved, loved, loved the ballet. Have always wanted to see the Nutcracker ballet, took my daughter and we have both decided this will be a Christmas tradition for now on.
We really enjoy the performance, and the production was well done. I was expecting a live orchestra for this event, but it was only recorded music. Still a fabulous show that I would be happy to recommend.
I have been a frequent patron of the Nutcracker ballet in the past. This years production was a bit disappointing. First, there were no programs. I enjoy a tangible program to follow and as a souvenir. Secondly, I missed the youth in the production. In the past young people have been a part of the ballet. Also, there was not one Christmas tree in the lobby to take a festive photo in front of. Maybe this was a lean year for the ballet. I just wish it had been advertised as such.
The World Ballet Nutcracker was a great performance by excellent performers. The quality of the dancers was superb, the costuming was amazing, and the venue is perfect. Though I would prefer a live orchestra to accompany them. It was well worth the price.
Decided to create new memories with my sisters and mom. We thought what a better thing to do than to attend our first ballet. Let me just tell you we enjoyed it from the moment it started until the end. It was magical all through. Thankyou for the wonderful experience.
it was a well done production of this classic i have seen several times before. i would go see it again.
A very new and entertaining version of the Nutcracker. A lot of dance and not a lot of play, which I believe it to be a better presentation. I will look for them next year.
Had a great time watching the Nutcracker, show started and ended in a great time. Valley was $40.00 and took longer than expected to get my car. Only a few workers.
