About

WICKED, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle.  Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another girl, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”

With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” WICKED has been hailed by The New York Times as “the defining musical of the decade.” Time Magazine cheers, “if every musical had the brain, the heart, and the courage of WICKED, Broadway really would be a magical place.”

From the first electrifying note to the final breathtaking moment, WICKED—the untold true story of the Witches of Oz—transfixes audiences with its wildly inventive story. It will send your spirits soaring to heights you’ll never forget.

  • disappointed

I really didn't know anything about Wicked before I went. I had no idea it had such a following with young girls. There was a lot of screaming.....Also, the music played much too loud - it was very difficult to make out any dialogue through most of the performance. I also hadn't realized until about a third of the way through that there were 'subtitles' on a small screen to the lower right of the stage. Sitting in the 2nd mezzanine, I used binoculars to 'watch' the subtitles, only briefly being able to switch back to watching the performances. The costuming was excellent. For the amount of money we pay for these events, it was definitely not worth it - I won't be going back to anything similar to this in the future.

  • Breathtaking

This show from the set to the actors were breathtaking. Both main actresses left me and my daughter with goosebumps. We flew in for my daughter’s 16th birthday present and it was the best gift I could give her. The joy of theater and excitement of real action made this show amazing. Thank you for all your hard work it was the best show I have been to.

  • Story vs song

The story was cute and entertaining. Good dialogue was lost in continual song.

10 stars! We bought tix to Wicked for my husband's birthday. We had a delicious dinner at the Carlile Room across the street and walked over to the show. It was fabulous from beginning to end! The music, the choreography, the set designs ~ everything was top notch! Every seat in the Paramount is fantastic, even the last row! Highly recommend Wicked!

  • People coming in and out whenever they felt like it

by Buttercup on 11/23/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 3 out of 5

The musical itself was very wonderful. However that being said, I've never been to a musical or a play where people were allowed to come and go 15-30 minutes alfter a performance started. Every performance I've ever gone to in the past when the doors are shut you don't get to come back in if you go out until intermission. There were a lot of people going to get drinks 15 minutes after the production had started. When they came back in they would use their cameras as flashlights to get back to their seats and then everyone had the stand up to let them back into their row. I found it very distracting and very disrespectful to not only us the viewers but also to the performers. I didn't appreciate it especially considering the amount of money that I paid for my tickets. It happened both during the first half and the second half. They were about 15 to 20 people who did this. I find it very irritating that the obnoxious few just expect the respectful majority to accept their obnoxious behavior. I am very confused why the staff allowed people to come and go freely. That being said after driving a hour and a half paying extra for parking and the extremely high price for the tickets I'm not sure that I would want to come to a Seattle event like this again if people are just going to be disrespectful during the performance. It's too much of a cost to have distractions like that.

  • Rousing music and set design!

by Diana on 11/22/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I had never seen Wicked before and was dazzled by how exciting and funny it was. The set design was deceptively simple, yet it gave the perfect ambiance to the entire play and enhanced the performances. It had a steampunk lean to it, which was visually stunning. The performances were top-notch, with the first-act-ending 'Defying Gravity' eliciting many 'Wows!' from me and the crowd around me. The cast did a terrific job with many humorous moments standing out amidst the more angry and angst-ridden moments. As a seamstress I was very impressed with the costumes, as well. They were bright and colorful and really added to the production. I especially loved Glinda's over-the-top ballgowns with their glittery detail and the whimsical green outfits worn by the citizens of Oz coming in a close second. Overall, I was thrilled to have finally seen such a well-known play performed so well!

  • The best I've ever seen!

by Avalikestheater on 11/22/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I got to see Wicked in London this summer. It was a great show, but this was even better. Galinda was absolutely hilarious, and Elphaba was extremely talented. Fiyero was great also. The choreography was insane!

  • Fantastic show and experience

by Eleko on 11/22/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Wicked was a spectacular show. And, seeing it from the seats we were in, was great. Although they were third level, we had a good view of everything. It was an amazing experience!

This show was wonderful. It was so easy to use the Ticketmaster app and load my tickets and parking voucher right into my eWallet. I appreciated knowing when the tickets would be available online to load into my wallet. Thanks for making this so easy.

  • My guest and I had a hard time hearing the words.

by Ms. Mezanene on 11/20/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 3 out of 5

It was a fantastic experience; the wardrobe and voices were beautiful. However, it was hard to hear what was being sung. It would have been nice to hear instead of getting the gist of what you think they are saying. The second half was so much better because you figured out the first half, the best part, the spin at the end. Not telling the ending, it really is good, if someone hasn't seen it yet.

  • AMAZING!

This was only my second play at the Paramount ever and, as always, it went perfectly. Plenty of staff kindly directing people, which is key! We will be back!

  • Wicked at the Paramont, Seattle

by JC on 11/19/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

The play itself is definitely worth seeing, yet the sound system needs to be improved, could not understand wording and singing In the first half, second half was much better.
