About

WICKED, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle.  Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another girl, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”

With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” WICKED has been hailed by The New York Times as “the defining musical of the decade.” Time Magazine cheers, “if every musical had the brain, the heart, and the courage of WICKED, Broadway really would be a magical place.”

From the first electrifying note to the final breathtaking moment, WICKED—the untold true story of the Witches of Oz—transfixes audiences with its wildly inventive story. It will send your spirits soaring to heights you’ll never forget.

  • Wicked at the Paramont, Seattle

The play itself is definitely worth seeing, yet the sound system needs to be improved, could not understand wording and singing In the first half, second half was much better.

  • Amazing

by ChrissD on 11/19/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

The musical was done really well. This is my third time seeing Wicked and this was the 2nd best performance. I would turn around and watch it again immediately. There were some reviews from opening weekend about the venue itself being a bit chaotic. We arrived at 7:00 and got it in in plenty of time to grab a cocktail and merch. My husband arrived at 7:20 and was seated by 7:40. The staff was very efficient and professional. They did make very loud announcements at intermission that there was 8 minutes until curtain, 5 minutes, 3 minute warning. They did dim the lights. Performance, venue, staff, top notch. 5/5 across the board.

  • Totally Amazing!!!

Even though this was my second time seeing Wicked it was a totally amazing experience! Amazing vocals from an incredibly talented cast!

  • Amazing!!

by Tari on 11/18/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

This is my 3rd time seeing Wicked and my 1st time with this new cast and it never fails to deliver an amazing show. The music and the story and the overall show is mesmerizing. The theater is absolutely silent for every scene and at the end of each scene it erupted with applause and shouts and you forget there is another world outside. 3 times of seeing this is not enough and I look forward to have it come back so I can see it again!!

  • A great show!

Well done by all the actors/actresses but Elphaba's voice was outstanding.

  • Top-notch production!

by Gianni on 11/18/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 3rd time seeing "Wicked", and it certainly did not disappoint! The entire production was top-notch, Broadway quality from the sets, to the costumes, lighting, sound, choreography and vocals. Every scene was packed full of wonder and delight. The long, raucous standing ovation from over 2800 people told it all. The Ticketmaster system was sleak and user-friendly. This was the 1st time I used the digital ticket download (rather than paper tickets), and it was so convenient and seemless. Count me highly satisfied!

  • Fantastic!!

by Steve on 11/18/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

The entire production was well done. I do wish that STG and/or the production company would stop mixing politics into their productions—it detracts from what should be entertainment.

  • Fantastic show—Green DOES go well with Pink!

    by 80kogs on 11/18/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Even better than the other two times I’ve seen this amazing show- the costumes were so beautiful, the sets were really cool, a few new arrangements made it seem fresh; and a very cohesive cast who seemed to genuinely enjoy their work and each other! Do not miss this show! Loved every minute of it! (Wish the merch wasn’t so expensive tho! $80 for sweatshirt seems excessive..)

We had a wonderful evening at the Paramount. Our seats were dead center stage. We would recommend this performance to everyone! If we could see this every night, we would!

  • Great show, treated like cattle to get in

by Andrea on 11/17/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

The show was wonderful. The staff inside was great. The outside staff was awful. Yelling repeatedly at people to crowd in, push past the person in front of you, leave no personal buffer, giving us no real helpful information but using condescending tones when questions or wondering were asked. Was not a magical beginning to an event that people dressed up for, brought families of all ages and may have been a once in a lifetime experience. I saw the effect of people being rattled as we were inside. It is hard to spend that much money, get a whole family dressed and fed find parking and get to the venue. Imagine being in formal wear, with a toddler and a grandparent also in formal wear to stand on the street and be yelled at to hurry and squish. To expect and be prepared to have a magical experience to then be berated and rushed. They could do better to calm all of that by making everyone feel welcomed as part of the experience. It's a huge crowd and I've seen that handled better. Identify the family, grandma with a walker and cranky toddler, welcome them, see the struggle, and let them know you're gonna find a place ahead that they will all fit and get in sooner, vs "everybody move forward, crowd in, faster, if the person in front of you isn't moving push past"

  • Show was good, theatre seating not!

by The Gerns on 11/17/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

This was our first time seeing Wicked and our first time at Seattle's Paramount Theater. The story was an interesting twist and the production was performed very well. We were sitting 3 rows from the back of the theater and the sound carried fairly well. We had some difficulty with some of the words but could see the stage quite well. The performance and the cast put on a very good show. The theatre itself is a beautiful structure and the sight lines from our seats were very good. The distance between rows is a bit cramped (I'm only 5'8") and the seating angle was definitely not ideal for my weakened knee joint. Had I understood that from the beginning of the show, I would have used the extra seat cushions offered at the back just as you were entering the seating area. So after about 30 minutes, I was in abject pain that took a lot away from the performance prior to intermission. After intermission, I did bring an extra seat cushion which helped greatly with the knee angle. I still ended up with some knee pain but it was bearable. Two cushions might have provided a better angle. I wouldn't normally comment on my issue but at $335 USF per ticket, I would expect the experience to be comfortable. This is a For Your Information for others heading to the Paramount Theater. We plan on seeing the new Wicked Movie so I can see what I might have missed during the first half of the play.

  • Omgosh, that was AMAZING!!!

by Luci on 11/16/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

The entire experience was amazing. We were in seat zz 1 and 2. Didn't mind being that far back. However, the voices while singing were very muffled. Other than that. I highly recommend.

  • Defying Gravity and Expectations

    by Alex B on 11/16/24Paramount Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Wicked, the untold story of the Witches of Oz, is more than just a musical - it's a spectacle of breathtaking artistry and emotional depth. From the moment the curtain rises, the audience is transported to a world of vibrant colors, soaring melodies, and unforgettable characters. The production is a technical masterpiece. The costumes are dazzling, the sets are intricate and imaginative, and the special effects are truly magical. But the true magic of Wicked lies in its storytelling. The plot cleverly reimagines the classic tale, exploring themes of friendship, prejudice, and the nature of good and evil. The performances are uniformly excellent. The actresses playing Elphaba and Glinda (the future Wicked Witch and Glinda the Good) share an electrifying chemistry, their voices blending beautifully in iconic numbers like "For Good."The supporting cast is equally strong, each bringing depth and humor to their roles. Wicked is a must-see for audiences of all ages. It's a show that will stay with you long after the final curtain falls, reminding you that things are not always what they seem. Whether you're a seasoned theatre-goer or a newcomer to the world of musicals, Wicked is an experience you won't want to miss.
