My friend and I sat on the 2nd row from the stage. The cast, costumes and music were wonderful! I was amazed at the incredible details on each costume. The orchestra was directed by a female conductor who did a marvelous job. All of the cast sang and acted beautifully. We were just in awe at everything. I especially loved "Defying Gravity and For Good!"
Everything was great, theatre and certainly the show. Great costumes.
Thoroughly enjoyed the production, cast, music, stage and special effects! The only thing I found a little off was the “animal theme”.
The staging, the singing, the players interaction with the audience. I'd go see it again!
I’m a major Wicked Fan and seen the production 25 times in LA, OC, SF, NYC and Germany. I was excited to see the touring team coming back to LA. The show was good but I could tell the 3 main leads were tired. Glinda felt she were reading her lines to get the show over with so she could go home. Fieyro just lacked chemistry with the 2 lead actresses. I hate to say this but it was an off night. I’m glad I saw the show but once was enough this time for me. Definitely go see it if you haven’t… but know there are also better productions of Wicked.
The show, as always was great. I have seen it before, in the same theater, long ago. This production of the show seemed somehow ‘thinner’ than I remember the previous show being (Staging? Cast? I can’t put my finger on it) As for the actors, the show was great for the most part the singing was clear and crisp with minor exception of ‘Glinda’, the annunciation was muddy while singing but only one song and only briefly. Otherwise, it was excellent (I realize I’m being nitpicky). I’d recommend you see the show.
Amazing cast and music. Such an amazing performance
The Pantages Theatre is a wonderful and magical place to see any show. Wicked is one of the best!! The actors were all amazing! The staging was wonderful! Wicked is a musical not to be missed!
I highly recommend to put on your bucket list. We were highly entertained and the cast received a well deserved standing ovation.
It was very easy to find tickets, purchase, and transfer to my friend's account.
It was ok! The first Wicked was much better, it had a better story line and easier to follow. This one was hard to hear and the props were so so at best. I think it will do well based on return crowed from the first play.
Room for improvement. I had trouble with sound. The bathrooms need to be bigger. 15 minute intermission and the line was too long. Even the snack area too busy!!
Pros: Props, Script and the entirety of the performance was an A+. No criticisms. Cons. This was held at the Pantages Theater in LA. There are noticeable cons to this venue to consider. 1. Concession items are extremely expensive. A can of soda is $10 (on principle that seems unconscionable). 2. Acoustics are NOT very good. Some Mezzanine seats will suffer from not being able to understand what is being said/sung by the actors. I have sat in several seats and the Mezzanine will be difficult to follow (a shame considering that the script of Wicked is superb). Half of the audience will laugh having clearly heard an amazing line, 30% will giggle at what they THINK they heard, and 20% will wonder what they missed. You will need to be VERY INTENTIONAL IN YOUR LISTENING. 3. Sound is not very good. Pantages audio will be too low at times and not adjust quickly enough for your enjoyment. In my opinion, Wicked is a script-heavy play that requires that you understand what is being said...that makes your selection of seats at the Pantages theater important.
We enjoyed seeing Wicked at the Pantages. The sightlines and acoustics are very good at the Pantages, making for an enjoyable experience. The singing, especially the two leading ladies, was exceptional.
I had seen Wicked 15 yrs ago but this time around I like it better. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and as usual Pantages is such a beautiful theatre. I am a fan & I fell in ❤️ with Wicked all over again.
Everything in a brilliant structure of harmony and dissonance to inspire us, make us think about the power of our individual choices and actions, and to uplift our hearts to do good and to love more. Highly recommend the live show. Theater is an essential and needed part of our culture and it was so great to experience this. I shared this with my daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter. Thank you to the Pantages for hosting this incredible musical and to the talented cast and crew, creators and producers and to Ticketmaster.
Omg I loved wicked, I wanted too see it for years and finally got a chance to watch this amazing story, acting, and musical number. It was fantastic!!!! I’m going to try to catch it again before they leave LA!!!!! You have to go see it!!!!!
Great play, great music, great theater! The Pantages staff were very kind and considerate concerning my mobility issues. The only thing the theater could do to improve is to make more restrooms truly handicapped accessible.
We had seats in the mezzanine and wasn't sure when I got them even where that was in the theater! The seats were amazing and as I'm older the nice lady at reception let me use a set of headphones. I was skeptical at first, but they really helped! The theater is beautiful and was a fast moving play, very well done. Learned things of the story that was quite interesting. I'm not sure if it followed the original story, interesting and entertaining none the less! Great experience, see if you can!
