WICKED is a Tony-winning sensation that has been defying gravity and delighting Broadway audiences since 2003. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, the fantastical prequel to The Wizard of Oz was nominated for 10 Tony Awards after it opened at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City, and won three, including Best Actress for Idina Menzel, who played the original Elphaba. The musical’s first national tour opened in 2005 and ever since, WICKED’s touring production has criss-crossed North America offering theatergoers one short day in the Emerald City filled with magic, music and the ”untold true story of the Witches of Oz.” The second national tour — known as the “Munchkinland Tour” — has been an open-ended production since 2009 and now stars Olivia Valli as Elphaba and Celia Hottenstein as Glinda.

Wicked is one of my favorite theater productions, and the team that performed in Houston was phenomenal! The acting, singing, and overall performance was fantastic!
Seen this in houston some years ago an now again last week and it was still AWESOME ! WONDERFUL SINGERS AND STORY !
I’ve waited years to see this play and to FINALLY get a chance to watch it was well worth the delay. I went on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, as I was able to relate to the characters. Overall, this was a FANTASTIC production! We even had a chance to take pictures and get autographs from the cast. Such a wonderful experience with my family that I will NEVER forget!
Beautiful sets and wonderful performances. All the same characters, but very different storyline. Loved it!
Great experience for me and my 13 year old daughter! The staff were so helpful. The musical was amazing- their voices, the instruments, the set- it was all phenomenal.
We went with 3 generations of family members and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! There was something for everyone and the play took you through the full range of emotions. The cast was so talented and the music was amazing! Beautiful costumes & set; total escapism. Hope I can go back to experience it all again someday.
We had a fun time watching this. The special effects, the talent and the visuals were truly breathtakingly amazing. I’ll definitely watch it again.
This was one of the best shows I have ever seen! The cast was phenomenal and their energy was unbeatable.
My daughter had to have emergency surgery on her foot 2wks ago. We were worried on how we would get to our seats in the lwrMezz with her crutches & so many stairs. There was a cart driver near the elevators though, who had a wheelchair waiting at the door, who then took us to tickets where they got changed to Lft Orchestra accessible. So not only were we well taken care of by staff, we had an excellent view of an amazing show, that we enjoyed throughly. And when it was done. The staff was back at my daughter's side, to give us the reverse treatment back to our car. I was very impressed with the treatment AND the performance.
First time seeing Wicked or any theater play for that matter and I LOVED IT SO MUCH The cast and crew were amazing! This experience has ignited a new love for plays that’s for sure! I can’t wait to see it again!
One of the best nights I've had in many years . A truly entertaining evening. The actors were exceptional talented with great vocals. A show equally good for a ages.
I was given a copy of the book and did not like it. The musical play was better by far and one of the most entertaining plays I have seen in a long time. I am an Oz collector; I own all the original forty titles in the series by Baum, Thompson, and other. WICKED is a different viewpoint of the story and a very clever approach to what happened in Oz before Dorothy landed there. There were many subtle references to the book and the movie. When Elphaba was asked why she was back in the Emerald City, she responded "There's no place like home."The audience chuckled. It was Tuesday night but there was a full house. Everyone connected with the theatre was very pleasant and helpful, from the security people at the entrance to the ushers showing us the seats. My only regret is that we did not splurge and get the more expensive seats near the center. I will see this again and look forward to the movies due to come out. Thanks to all connected for such a great time.
Told my husband I never needed to see it again because this show and theater experience were absolutely perfect!
This was a great experience! Loved the show. Easy to purchase tickets and put on mobile app
great singing and acting, the two leading ladies playing GA-Linda 😆 and Elphaba complimented each other wonderfully, i highly recommend others to see Wicked! i had it on my bucket list for the past three years
I have seen Wicked a few times and always want to see it again. The production, set design, costumes, dancing, and the singing is fabulous!
I heard nothing but great reviews but for me it was boring and too many songs. It had some humor. The second half was better and I thought the story itself was interesting just delivery and stage show bored me. I didn't see all the hype.
I enjoyed the performance. But I will be going back to the Alley theater. I do not ever recall having been so far from the stage. I could not see the actors’ facial expressions. And I could not hear half of what the characters were saying. I don’t dislike the show. I absolutely loved what I was able to see and hear if it. I’ve just seen Hobby Center for the first time, and it was as uncomfortable as a soorts venue. I will have to wait for the movie to get to see the whole show. Thanks for the opportunity to comment. It reduces my unhappiness a lot just to be able to say something.
Overall the performance was amazing. We had seats at the very top and we could barely hear the singing. The drink prices were a little high for my liking also but was told that is what is expected.
Thoroughly enjoyable, loved every minute. First time in hobby centre too and very impressed
