WICKED, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another girl, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”
With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” WICKED has been hailed by The New York Times as “the defining musical of the decade.” Time Magazine cheers, “if every musical had the brain, the heart, and the courage of WICKED, Broadway really would be a magical place.”
From the first electrifying note to the final breathtaking moment, WICKED—the untold true story of the Witches of Oz—transfixes audiences with its wildly inventive story. It will send your spirits soaring to heights you’ll never forget.

My husband and I see a "Broadway"musical in San Diego about once a year. This year, we saw Wicked. While I did see the movie, my husband had not. We both thoroughly enjoyed this production...from the costumes, to the singing and the set design. It was simply a wonderful experience that swept us away! Of course, one of the reasons why these traveling "Broadway"productions are such a treat is due to the use of an orchestra. That took the whole production to the next level for us. Thank you for continuing to bring this qualify of production to our city here in San Diego!
This was my third time seeing Wicked, and the second time at the Civic Theater in San Diego. The show was great. Singing was excellent, and the two leads were great actresses in addition to having great voices. A very pleasant experience.
What a great show, I see why it's been around for so long! I enjoyed the inclusion of comedy as well. Definitely recommend!
We love going to theater in San Diego. The wicked production was excellent. The sets were over the top and very exciting. I was very distressed and nervous to see so many homeless people camped out at the San Diego Civic Center venue. There was trash and human waste present. This is not the experience I hope for when I go to the theater. I hope they can get this situation under control in San Diego!
I thought the show was amazing the level of talent and showmanship was incredible. I think it had a lack of personality and could have had more diversity in the munchkins but it was a very lovely to see the amount of effort in the stage design too I loved it!
If you are a fan of the wizard of oz, this is a must see! Everyone was phenomenal, the vocals were insane. The chemistry was electric. Highly highly recommend
If you have not seen WICKED at the CIVIC Theater, it is a MUST SEE!!!! I was captivated the moment the actors were on stage. The excitement, story line, silent and not so silent messages about values, kindest, self-love, self-worthiness, forgiveness, and connection constantly was woven throughout the entire performance. SEATS WERE PHENOMENAL, 2 ROWS FROM THE STAGE!! I highly recommend seeing WICKED...All the acting, singing and camaraderie was evident with the cast.
My fave part of the show was witnessing the ensemble dance and sing at such a high level. I loved Glinda’s performance especially and recommend this show for anyone looking for a fun time (:
It was the best musical I’ve ever seen. Everything was just perfect
3rd time seeing Wicked, the musical. This cast matched the 1st National Touring Company. Acting & singing was superb.
The play was absolutely fantastic. We went with our daughter for our birthday celebration and we had a wonderful experience.
The costumes! The set! The cast! Absolute perfection!
This was one of the best performances!! My daughter and I loved every moment!!
Fabulous performance and great seats in the loge. Paid for parking in advance which I would not suggest. Parking was $45 and half mile walk! Parking would have been $10 if I paid day of at that garage!
Venue was great and staff were super friendly and helpful. The performance was outstanding! We had a great time.
Excellent story, music, singing, dance and cast members. Well done.
There are not enough words to describe how incredible the performance of Wicked was at the San Diego Civic Theater. The cast, the costumes, the set designs and the orchestra were absolutely amazing. The talented cast riveled the performances we have seen in the past on Broadway ad in London. The energy and excitement of the audience only added to the level of excellence on stage. An unforgettable evening for our family.
Had seen the movie and wasn’t sure how the show would compare. I enjoyed the Broadway story telling much more. It’s a truly funny and touching show, and it’s visually stunning. Watched it at the San Diego Civic Theater and I’ve been to a few shows over the years, sitting in different spots. The music is always much louder than the vocals, and in some seating sections dialogue is barely audible, so it’s not my favorite place to catch a show.
We started the day at seaport village. Checked in at the Palihotel. Had a great time in the gas lamp! Dressed up for the play. We enjoyed Wicked to the Max!!? Wonderful show. Have shared our experience with many. Great performance!!!
