About

Pioneers of the Red Dirt music scene and one of America's most beloved bands, Turnpike Troubadours has amassed a massive following throughout their renowned career with more than 2.2 billion streams globally and over 1.7 million equivalent units sold. Since their debut in 2005, the band has released seven studio albums, performed countless sold-out headline shows, appeared in Paramount's hit show "Yellowstone" and were inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. Most recently, Turnpike Troubadours added to their historic career with the release of their new surprise album, The Price of Admission, which debuted at #1 on the iTunes all-genre and country charts and earned them their highest Spotify chart debuts to date. The eagerly awaited follow up to their widely acclaimed 2023 album, A Cat in the Rain, The Price of Admission further cements the band as an undeniable force in the music world and led Whiskey Riff to declare "Turnpike Troubadours have continued to prove time and time again that they are the greatest band of all time." Originally from Tahlequah, OK, Turnpike Troubadours is Evan Felker (vocals, guitar), Kyle Nix (fiddle), Ryan Engleman (electric guitar), RC Edwards (bass), Gabe Pearson (drums) and Hank Early (steel, accordion).

  • Can’t Review the Band Thanks to Their Fans

by Avett Fan on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 2 out of 5

I’m giving the concert two stars because The Wood Brothers and The Avett Brothers were awesome. I had never heard of Turnpike before I bought the tickets, so I thought seeing them would be an added bonus after TAB. Turnpike fans have no class whatsoever. They sat and talked through the entire performances of the other two bands. The Avett Brothers are not new up and comers. Turnpike fans should’ve considered it an honor to have them there. Instead they talked and yelled the whole time, shined their flashlights in our faces, and walked all over us repeatedly. It completely ruined the experience and so we left after TAB finished. Though I heard from others who went that Turnpike’s sound engineering was so bad it was miserable and that TAB stole the show.

  • All artists were on fire!

by PT on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

There was only one problem....the sound at Simmons Bank arena is not good. However, the crowd had a blast and sang every song of the Avett Bros and Turnpike. EXCELLENT grouping of artists.

  • Sound was terrible.

by Van on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 2 out of 5

The sound in the venue for Turnpike was terrible, if you weren’t a fan who already knew the words you wouldn’t be able to make them out.

  • Disappointed in Turnpike Troubadours

by Richard on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 3 out of 5

I would like to start by saying I have been excited about this concert for months, really years. In 2019, pre Covid, my wife bought us tickets for my birthday, knowing this was my favorite band. Suddenly there was news that Turnpike was disbanding. This was crushing news for me. Turnpike was my favorite band at the time and I had been dying to see them for a long time. At that time, I thought I would never get the opportunity to see them. We’ll, post-Covid they reassemble and faith was restored that I would one day soon get the opportunity to see the band I have spend countless hours listening too. That day finally comes as they announce they are coming to Little Rock AR. My wife purchased floor seats so I could have the ultimate experience. The night started off great. We weren’t able to to see the Wood Brothers but The Avett brothers were incredible. How lucky were we to have the opener to be the Avett brothers. Everything went right for their set. We were blown away by their performance. The time we have been waiting years for came. The Turnpike Troubadours took the stage. I could feel my heart beat accelerate. Within the first few seconds my wife leaned over to me and said it was so loud she could hardly bear it. I responded to her by agreeing and also adding that I could hardly make out what the were saying, as if there treble was so far off that they were mumbling on stage. It was hard to imagine because the past two bands were perfect on acoustics. Soon we realized it would be like this for every song. We enjoyed our experience but the sound was so far off it took away from the whole. Their instagram comments on the Little Rock performance all followed suite with our complaints. Very disappointing.

  • Terrible sound

by Evan on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 1 out of 5

I bought 8 tickets and traveled with my friends to see Turnpike. Their acoustics were terrible. They sounded like a blown speaker. The worst concert I’ve ever attended.

  • Never heard of this band

by Mike on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 3 out of 5

My wife and I bought tickets to see the Avett Brothers, and it turns out they were simply opening for the Turnpike Troubadours. We had never of this band and were shocked when the couple seated behind said they were the main act. We have since asked numerous family members and nobody had ever heard of the band. Yet they had all heard of the Avett Brothers. And yet, everyone stood up when the Turnpike Troubadours started playing. Makes us feel like we are living in an alternative reality, or maybe the Matrix or something.

  • A Bit Disappointed

by Old Joe Clark on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 3 out of 5

I feel like they gave us their bare minimum. There was no flow to the show. No transition between songs. At one time their fiddle player was left alone on the stage, in the spotlight. Looked like an awkward few minutes for him. Love their music, but not a fan of their efforts in the live show.

  • Disappointing Opening Acts

by Suebee67 on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 4 out of 5

I didn't know that there would be two opening acts. That would be great but I had never heard of either one and didn't really care for them. They were okay but not my style. The troubadoors were great!

  • Great time

by ADR on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

Great show Troubadours great . I lost my eye glasses though and no one answers a phone at Simmions bank arena to see if they got a lost and found.

  • Venue

by TR on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the show, but the acoustics weren’t great in the arena. Great performances though!

  • Great Concert

by Tish R on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

Turnpike put on a heck of a show! Venue was great as always. Everything was set up for a fun time!

  • Audio issues / bad mix

    by J. B. on 2/27/23Rating: 3 out of 5

Love the Troubadors, but their audio engineering needs help. The Little Rock show (and the Dallas show from what I've read other places) suffered from a poor mix all night. Vocals were muffled and low. Guitar and fiddle were insanely loud and overpowering. Other fans around me (and across the venue, chatting over text) shared the same observations.

  • Great bands, terrible sound

by L on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 1 out of 5

The sound was terrible. The bands are great and talented but whoever controlled the sound board did an awful job. Paid a lot of money for seats and the sound was scratchy and did the bands no justice.

  • Little Rock

by Rokn on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 4 out of 5

Great show by all the groups.. the event center was quick on making us leave even though there was no uber to b pick us up. 45 minutes wait in the cold and light rain made the show less then perfect

  • TURNPIKE TROUBADOURS ARE THE BEST

by k. M. on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 5 out of 5

We have seen them 21 times, this was the first time in a big arena. It was great, not as good as small venues, but they can not help it they are so GOOD that they now play in big venues. I am so happy for them! They are my favorite band.

  • Kind of surprised, not in a good way.

by Pberdoc on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 2 out of 5

Music was OK. No energy. Really felt like they should be opening up for the Avett brothers.

  • Why so loud?

by kylerkelton on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 4 out of 5

I've had a similar experience the last two times I've been to Simmons Bank Arena. The volume and mixing would be great for the opening act but way way way too loud for the final act. It really hurts the experience. I've been very pleased with everything else with Simmons Bank Arena and the shows but please have a little more control of the volume knob for the final act and it would be a perfect, 5 star experience.

  • Good energy, mediocre sound mix

by Thomas in Little Rock on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 3 out of 5

I love both The Avett Bros and Turnpike Troubadours. Great energy and stage presence! Set list was on point. However, the sound quality was not good for Turnpike. The opening song vocals were very subdued, but were later corrected. Then it sounded like every instrument was operating at the same level - which made it hard to decipher the lyrics at some point. If I didn't know the music, it would've been hard to follow.

  • The band was excellent but the sound quality was poor.

by Aras on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 3 out of 5

Turnpike played all the hits and were an awesome bands to jam to. Unfortunately the band was louder than the vocals and the venue had an echo effect. I was disappointed I couldn’t hear the vocals very well.

  • too loud

by Chris on 2/27/23Simmons Bank Arena - North Little RockRating: 1 out of 5

Volume for TT was way too high. Fine for Wood Bros and Avett Bros.
