I have had an absolute blast during TIFF 2024. This is my 5th year attending and has been my favorite so far.
Lots of helpful volunteers. Movie was great and the opportunity to meet the Tragicaly Hip was fantastic.
This was my fiancé’s and my second annual trip to Toronto for TIFF and I must say, we enjoyed ourselves just as much as we did last year. So many great, quality films to choose from. It’s a good feeling to be amongst other film lovers like yourself. We were also lucky enough to hear some really amazing talkbacks with some of the directors and actors after the screenings. Looking for to TIFF 2024 :-)
Movie was very engaging, real and had humour. The movie reflected the real life issues we deal with on a daily basis. Very well done
Even with the actors strike TIFF was able to rally and create an amazing event once again for the city of Toronto
Tiff was awesome and very entertaining we took the day off work and we love the movie we saw it was named Bria Mack get a life
We were regretting the purchase of our tickets, felt like we fell for the hype on the opening sales day. Even the day before we contemplated selling out tickets. But, once we got there, the buzz in the air was amazing. The red carpets were buzzing, and people were excited (a few people of course were annoyed at the crowds). We started to get exited then the entry was seamless and organized, I was able to grab a beer and some snacks to take in the theatre, and the ushers were friendly and we were directed to our seats quickly. Everyone there was excited to be there, and at this point so were we. Lights went down, Cameron Bailey came out to say a few words and show us an amazing summary clip of TIFF events. Wow, we should have seen more of these movies!!! Then Sly Stalone came out and the crowd went wild. I then noticed that Frank Stallone, and Sly's wife were standing 5 feet to my left. Where else can you get an experience like that? The movie was great and the crowd interaction/reactions really enhanced the viewing. I have to say we will be back next year and it will be to see many more movies and enjoy the TIFF experience as much as possible. Kudo's to the TIFF team and volunteers, this is such a great event to have in Toronto.
I saw some fantastic films this year but couldn't understand the winner selection and frankly couldn't help but feel the festival is going down the woke rabbit hole. If that's the case then it truly sucks for film makers and film goers.
Tiff is a great Festival .I think it offers so many positive opportunities for moviegoers to watch top movies and be in a buzz that's created by all of the celebrities. The volunteers are very friendly and helpful but not all of them know the information that's needed when you attend the festival. One misdirected me and it almost stopped me from attending the movie that I came to see but fortunately it worked out. My suggestion to Tiff would be to give smaller media outlets opportunities for accreditation that they seem to overlook.
I mostly saw foreign films since they rarely come to my local movie houses. Several were excellent. Even those I thought poor gave some interesting insights into their country. I especially liked “without air” about politicizing classrooms; “the tundra within me” a real as well as romantic picture of Sami life; “youth (spting)” a documentary on Chinese sweat shops and relations between the workers and owners; and “les indesirables” about politicians and immigrants in a Paris suburb; and “the movie teller “ about life in a Chilean ming town. Having all the theaters in a compact area made life easier. The ticketing process was cumbersome, having to first find the classification of film and then load many pages to get to films near the end of the festival. The classification seemed very arbitrary compared to previous years. As usual the large crowds were expertly handled and the volunteers very helpful.
This was my first year to attend TIFF. As a newbie, I did pretty well. Not too hard to figure out and tons of kind volunteers to help. I can’t wait to go back!!
Loved watching “thank you for coming” at TIFF. It was easy to book through Ticketmaster. No hassle
This is my third year attending TIFF, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time watching all the movies. I am grateful to be able to take part in all the street festival activities during the first weekend and take part in watching the Midnight Madness movies. That being said, here are some things that the festival can do to improve the experience: 1) I know many people, including myself, had problems getting tickets to some of the movies. I am not sure who is at fault, but many people experience glitches where the movie shows tickets available, but when you click on it, it says the tickets are sold out. Hopefully, next year, this glitch won't occur. 2) Scheduling all the movies must be the most challenging job, but I felt like many foreign films were given times when it is difficult for people to watch (i.e., during the workday or only having two showings). It is difficult for working people to watch these films, so please consider us when making the schedule next year. 3) When you add the movie ticket to your wallet, the ticket does not show which movie theatre it is showing at. Adding that point to the ticket would make the audience's lives more accessible. Overall, I always enjoy my time at TIFF, and hopefully, I can attend many more festivals.
Loved the experience! So fun and overwhelming. Most of the films I saw were really great. It’s hard to pick my favorite!
Each film we saw was riveting. With the exception of “In Restless Dreams” (second showing), the actors and /or directors were present, for the always interesting Q and A. Not only did we enjoy the films, each time, the director brought home to us how very important it was to have their film shown at TIFF. Personally I was brought to tears on two occasions from their expressions of gratitude. TIFF is a gift that needs to be protected and supported and so we will become members even though we live out of town. BTW let Bell know you are unhappy with their decision to pull their support.
This was our first year attending TIFF as we live outside of Ontario. It was disappointing not having the stars here, but other than that I found the event to be extremely well organized and the volunteers did a great job. A great lineup of movies and we will definitely be back for next year. The only one improvement I can think of is for TIFF to have a daily schedule as an option when the tickets become available.
I selected 6 films this year with themes of female empowerment, redemption and an indigenous bent. Loved all of them. The programmers selected well!! The volunteers were EXCEPTIONAL!!! Great all around experience!! Thanks 🙏 TIFF
TIFF always has a great selection of films and I absolutely loved getting to watch LEE, it was amazing!! Common Kate Winslet W
It was very difficult to go in to the site for buy a ticket, most of the film was sold out very fast. 30 dollar for a ticket is a lot of money.
