Took my girl for her bday and she loved it! The look in her eyes while she was watching it made me so happy. Great to sing along to if you don’t get shushed. It reminded me how much I dislike scar..great performance all around.

  • Not The Best Lion King I’ve Seen

by Broadway Lover on 1/20/20Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

I took my oldest son 3 years ago to The Lion King in NYC and it was incredible! I decided to take my second son and my husband last week. The first half was incredible. The Rafiki wasn’t as strong as I had hoped, but Mufasa’s incredible performance made up for it. By the end of the first half, the older Simba was introduced. I was super unimpressed, but held out hope for a good second half performance. The second half was simply not good. Simba was weak and not a great performer. Rafiki had a more pivotal role in this second half and she could hardly hit the notes on “They Live in You”. I was so disappointed. It wasn’t at all to the quality I had seen three years ago. At $155 per seat, I expect the best in NYC, and this didn’t hit the mark. Still, I can’t deny the incredible costumes and staging.

  • Everything was Amazing except the seats

by Anijandra on 1/18/20Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The performance was amazing but the size of the seats were too small and too close together. I know this part is necessary to have as many people as possible but the seats need to comfortable and spacious in order to enjoy completely

  • Great lighting and stage- terrible sound

by Nicole on 1/15/20Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

I took my 8 year old son to the play for his first Broadway experience. thank goodness he remembers the movie and was sidetracked by the props and stage lighting. we could not understand a single word. the music was too overpowering and you could not make out anything the actors were saying-unless it was hitting a very high note that projected. overall I was very disappointed the play did not live up to what I was expecting.

  • Mesmerizing

by Erlyn T on 1/14/20Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Very impress, exceeded my expectations. The cast, the costumes, the story; very well put and coordinated, don't have words to explain it. Go experience it yourself!

  • Greatest all around theater production

by Grandma and Grandson on 1/14/20Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Lion King was the greatest all around theater production I have experienced in my five decades of attending Broadway theater. Every creative detail, music, lyrics, acting, dancing, costumes, choreography, stage sets, lighting, puppetry, and more were superb. The energy level was exhilarating. As an adult, I enjoyed all the attention to detail that went into creating the vibrant world of animal life. Through the eyes of my 6 year old grandson, I appreciated the sence of wonder in his reception of the banquet of sights and sounds. If you attend a matinee, a must with younger children, be prepared for the crush of people exiting the theater at the end of the performance and the large areas taken up by families taking selfies in front of marquees. It would have been helpful to have signs in the lobby indicating the directions to 45th and 46th. The ushers were very helpful with directions to seating upon entering the theater and suggesting booster seats for children.

  • Amazing Performance!

by Sara on 1/11/20Minskoff Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first Broadway show (but I did see Aladdin in Chicago). I am absolutely in love with the quality of the performance! The show was absolutely amazing and well done! The detail was incredible, costumes were remarkable! The only thing I wish is that we could have taken a picture at the end of the performance when they all came out to bow. It would have been nice to have at least one picture!
