Amazing show

-

Wicked was amazing! The story and music was out of this world. Now I know the story of the witches from the Wizard of Oz. My 12 year old said this was her best Broadway show yet. (She has seen about 10 so far on school trips)

YASSSS

-

Brittany Johnson KILLED IT as Glinda, as did Jessica Vosk as Elphaba. From beginning to end the show was fantastic and surpassed every expectation I had for the show. Watching the show come to life was incredible, and I loved every minute of it. 10/10 would reccomend.

Wicked is Still GREAT

-

I saw this show half a dozen times when it first opened. I wanted to see if it was still sharp and as good as I remember. It was perfection. Understudy for Glinda was breathtakingly good. Entire cast and tech elements were excellent. Often a long running show gets lazy and loose. Not this one.

1st time Wicked experience unfortunately ruined by couple

-

Unfortunately my experience was completely ruined by an unimaginably rude and disrespectful couple sitting right behind me who spoke loudly, took photos, and heckled the performers (and other audience members like myself who told them to be quiet), until they were thrown out about 1 hour into the show. This was by no fault of the Wicked production team or the Gershwin Theater, but I'm sure other people who attended the 7pm performance on Jan. 10, 2019, can attest we had the unfortunate luck of being in the same room with those insufferable people.

high school musical??

-

Our daughter was in from out of town-- her first time in new york. we wanted to treat her to a Broadway play. Since I have seen wicked 12 times, I thought that is always a crowd pleaser, boy was I wrong. Glinda was just horrible when I looked her up in the playbill, she wasn't on the list--not the lead, not the 2nd person, but the third in depth. I understand that things happen, but she ruined the play for me, moving in and out of character, she had a decent voice, but could not act!!! For the price of the ticket, I expect this to be a professional production--not a night at the Apollo. she must have let some family and friends know she was playing the part because she had a contingent there that cheered her as she was walking on stage--before she did anything! paying the kind of money we do for tickets--is it too much to ask for a professional production and not a rehearsal? sooooo disappointed!!! it ruined the play for our daughter and many sitting around us and later in the lobby who were also complaining. it was truely a case of bait and switch!!

Fabulous show!

Everything was enchanting! The score, the actors and the set were perfectly created to transport the theatergoer to Oz.

Show Details

So much happened before Dorothy dropped in.
WICKED, the Broadway sensation, looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle.  Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin—smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”
With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” WICKED has been hailed by The New York Times as “the defining musical of the decade.” Time Magazine cheers, “if every musical had the brain, the heart, and the courage of WICKED, Broadway really would be a magical place.”
The Gershwin Theatre on 50th Street and Broadway is that magical place. From the first electrifying note to the final breathtaking moment, WICKED—the untold true story of the Witches of Oz—transfixes audiences with its wildly inventive story. It will send your spirits soaring to heights you’ll never forget.
