    Meh to grr

by National Theatregoer on 3/17/24The National Theatre - Washington

It’s a great show, executed poorly. Most annoying, I was seated in the right orchestra, three seats in from the aisle about 9 rows back. The stage right off stage area was poorly draped for most of the show, so we all watched the stagehands and off-stage stuff for a good part of the show! Really took us out of the experience. Felt very high school production. Embarrassing for the National Theatre. The choreography was mediocre. The casting director made odd choices. For example the frightening warlord was played by a skinny guy, not at all convincing. Many of the players seemed to phone it in. The leads were invested, but the rest of the cast seemed like they were there for a paycheck. Voices were very good, if overmiked. I guess this is what you get with a touring company.

    The Book of Mormon

by Betty on 3/12/24The National Theatre - Washington

The play was fantastic! Might have even been a tad bit better than the version I saw at the Kennedy Center years ago. Elder Cunningham was top notch! Highly recommend this play for non stop laughing!

Brilliant show, at a brilliant clean and well organized venue. The National theatre had everything we needed, (even had coffee for the drivers)

Straight Laughter - Must Be Ok with Explicit Language

by Drgonzo on 3/9/24The National Theatre - Washington

I’ve seen Book of Mormon multiple times, it’s one of my favorite shows. As long as you can explicit language, this show is laugh out loud from beginning to end.

    Great show, great performance

by Vic Vitek on 2/20/24Citizens Opera House - Boston

After hearing songs from the show on the Sirius/XM Broadway channel for years, it was great to finally be able to see the action going with the songs. From the opening to the closing numbers, the songs did not disappoint, nor did the people singing them. The storyline is very good, and the person who you start off thinking will be the focus of the show turns out not to be. Definitely NOT a kids' show, but if you like sometimes raunchy bits in a show (no nudity) that at least advance the plot, then you will like if not love this show.

    Funny, funny, funny!

by KAP on 2/20/24Citizens Opera House - Boston

Incredibly funny and entertaining, from start to finish! This production grabs you comically and just never lets go… just when you think that the current scene is the funniest ever, another funny scene tops that one! I was tired from laughing so much and truly had rib tenderness from all of the laughter. I highly recommend this show to every adult on the planet!!

by Joy on 2/20/24Citizens Opera House - Boston

This show was hilarious, yet respectful. The actors and singers were phenomenal. Perfect performance, very entertaining and an overall fun experience. The actors appeared to be having a lot of fun on stage, making it seem so effortless! Highly recommend.

    A night of laughter

by joe on 2/19/24Citizens Opera House - Boston

A show that goes right up to the edge of raciness and dives head first. A funny and satirical story about the Mormon missionaries.

    Underwhelming

by Northshore resident on 2/16/24Citizens Opera House - Boston

This was mediocre at best. Dancing was sloppy, weak voices singing. Probably one of the worst performances I've seen. Based on the long running status, I can only assume it's the current cast and production team.

    Everything I expected

by SharonW on 1/23/24Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Been waiting a long time to see this show and it was worth the wait. It was raucous, profane, hilarious and fun. All performers did excellent jobs My favorite part, however, was the incredible lighting and how it completely changed not only the sets but the costumes as well. It was truly magical.

    Didn't compare to NY

by TS on 1/19/24Paramount Theatre - Seattle

The touring show of The Book of Mormon at the Paramount was "good". I enjoyed the show because it's been one of my favorites after seeing it twice on Broadway in NY. After all my raving about the show and creating super high expectations, the person I saw it with (who hadn't seen the show previously) was somewhat disappointed. I have to admit, it paled by comparison to the shows in New York. The acting as well as the vocals just wasn't on par with those on Broadway (which I totally understand). Also, because the venue was SO much larger than those in NY, it made it difficult to hear the actors at times, especially during the songs. I spoke with others at intermission who agreed it was really difficult to understand at times. It's still a brilliant show with amazing songs, but this particular production was a bit disappointing.

    Still laugh-out-loud funny

by John on 1/18/24Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I saw The Book of Mormon years ago at the Paramount Theater. We had 5th row seats and throughly enjoyed the performance. It truly lived up to all the hype I had heard about. Fast forward 10 years or so, married, my husband had not previously seen it and neighbors asked us to join them in an afternoon performance. We could only get seats near each other, and almost in the very back. Guess what? It was wonderful! Even that far back we had a great experience. It was our first public outing in 4 years because of Covid. We wore masks, and remain healthy! I will say the seats are a bit cramped and we are definitely not large people. Can’t imagine what it would be like to be uncomfortable and trying to I enjoy the performance. Other than that, all staff members we connected with were wonderful .
