Live on Broadway, the New York Times calls it "the best musical of the century." The Washington Post says, "It is the kind of evening that restores your faith in musicals." And Entertainment Weekly says, "Grade A: the funniest musical of all time." Jimmy Fallon of The Tonight Show calls it "Genius. Brilliant. Phenomenal." It's The Book of Mormon, the nine-time Tony Award®-winning Best Musical. See it on Broadway today!
Outstanding production and very talented performers. A great Broadway show!
The show was created by the creators of South Park. It was off color and edgy, and extremely funny. Not what I expected, then again, "What Would You Expect"
Maybe I had heard so much hype about this that my expectations were too high. It was good, very funny in parts but not as amazing as I had heard.
simply hilarious. i pretty much enjoyed the jokes and songs. i'd like how the story goes as well. how they portray a religion started.
I wish I had read the negative reviews of this play before wasting so much money and time to see it! I *thought* it would involve lightly poking fun at the Book of Mormon, but it went much farther with its vulgar language AND actions. It was outrageous to see that some adults even brought their young children to this! I definitely think plays should be required to have ratings just like movies do (G, PG, R) so that you know more about what to expect.
A brilliant satire of organized religion and the history/traditions of the american musical.
the show was amazing! hilarious! we could not stop laughing!
It lives up to the hype! Every trick in the book! Choreography is just plain fun and with alot of gimmick!! The actors are top notch A well balanced ensemble! The theater itself is exceptionally beautiful . Quottos to the lighting in to show-/just amazing
This show was just average. Spent a lot of money on these tickets and was mostly disappointed. Have seen much better shows at a much lower price. If you have money to throw away, go see it. It was just average...
A very funny, clever play. If you are offended by course language, this is not for you. Very naughty, but Hilarious!
Raunchy, laugh out loud madness. I couldn't breathe from laughing so hard. Not for people who get offended easily.
One of the best shows on broadway! Easily would recommend it to any adult who is into musicals and is interested in the topic :)
Get ready to laugh as the superb actors bring to life the story of two Mormon missionaries and their interesting exploits in Uganda. A little irreverent with plenty of big guffaws. PG-13 or NC-17 for sure.
We loved the Book of Mormon, but we don't think someone who is very religious would like it too much. We found the acting and the plot very funny, although the music was not very memorable. Since I have personally been on a mission to a village in nearby Kenya, I had a different angle on things and found the contrasts between what the Elders expected and what they found especially hilarious
2nd time can't wait to see it again funny funny funny
After seeing Rock of Ages and lead Justin Sargent in this theater last, I didn't think it could be topped but I was wrong. The Book of Mormon was an exceptional comedy that left you entertained throughout the entire performance. Kyle Selig played a Mormon follower facing difficulty with the requirements of his faith. Don't take this play to serious, I do not they are attempting to down play the Mormon faith but merly show a comedic point of view regarding some aspects. This is a must see while in New York.
fantastic , only prudes and the type of people they are sending up for their blind belief would not find this show funny .
Loved the show - very funny, witty, lively, entertaining! Actors were very talented! Definitely would recommend it!! The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars -was because some of the audio was difficult to hear/understand. Particularly the voice of God or other voices coming from above the stage.
Definitely worth going. The show was hilarious. My only issue is the Eugene O'Neill Theatre where the show was performed. The seats are very crammed together. Wish there was a bit more space between everybody. Very tall/large people will def have an issue.
irreverent non stop hilarity and talented cast and crew
