From an ex-mormon, they definitely did their homework for this show! Very well done from start to finish. The music was phenomenal, and the casting was also great. 5 stars, will definitely see it again!
the cast was outstanding but I felt badly that they didn't have better lines to work with. there was very little humor on stage providing even less from the audience. Why was this play such a hit?
I got tickets for my fiancee since she wanted to see it. The show had us laughing before we were seated comfortably in our chairs. I will say that if you are easily offended by things, then maybe this show is not for you as it pokes fun at different groups. The cast is really good and the music is very catchy! We absolutely loved it!
This was the best show I have ever seen on Broadway! I heard wonderful reviews before I saw the show so I knew it had to be good but it was AMAZING. I would recommend that everyone goes to see this show.
Had a blast at this show. Probably not for small kids, but teens & adults will love it. Hilarious.
My husband doesn't like most Broadway shows but he LOVED the Book of Mormon. It's a laugh out loud look at organized religion. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a laugh.

The cast in a single word - Fantastic. So as not to spoil the story line, we purposely did not do any online reviews or playbacks; after the show was a different story. I am so glad we were able to see this event with the current cast as they are all so much better. Congrats to all - the actors, orchestra, lighting and sound engineers. We really got our money's worth. Thank you.

People, Please don't waste your money on this vile junk. Base, crude, crass, offensive,-Frat boy meets atheist maniac. AWFUL. What does it say about the general masses that have given this rave reviews? Sad state.I was ashamed to be any part of it. Walked out. Couldn't wait to get out of there.
Finally got to see Book of Mormom, 5 years after it first opened. These past 5 years have not been good to the show I think. Not that the production was bad, it wasn't. The cast was terrific. What is bad though is the script of the show. It no longer has any bite—if it ever did. More a sit-com than a biting satire. And not very funny. Something Rotten was a great deal more amusing than Mormom. The songs? Mostly forgetable with the first song being the best. For the price of the tickets I expected more in the way of production values as well. The sets were very high school-ish. There are much better shows to spend your time and money on.
We found this highly irreverent comedy to be quite hilarious....but we would caution anyone who is sensitive about religious or sexual humor.
Saw this five years ago with original cast and LOVED IT!! Was not disappointed with new cast, one bit!! I was worried that no one could measure up to Andrew Rannells as Elder Price but my fears were unfounded. Nic Rouleau was adorbs and I thought Christopher John O'Neill as Elder Cunningham was even better than Josh Gad. Overall the cast is superb and the script, music and choreography is outstanding! The sacrilegious nature of one of the "big songs" was a bit off-putting, both times I've seen the show. All other songs are clever and funny and help to support the overall message of the show. FAVE songs: "Hello", "Turn it Off" and "I Believe". The show uses humor to question the absurdities and inconsistencies within organized religions, in general and Mormonism, specifically.
My husband and I enjoyed every minute of the show. We were very impressed with the talent of everyone.
I see a lot of Broadway and this show was just great. One of the best I've seen. My fiancée said it was amazing. Loved it!
The reviews were so positive for so long that I really looked forward to seeing he show when tickets became more available. I expected to start laughing the minute the show began. This was not the case and it took me till the second act to appreciate the bawdy humor. I'm pretty open minded with a good sense of humor and I was completely caught up in the insanity. There were a number of people who knew I was going and they were anxious to hear my take. I would have to say that the show is definitely not for everyone as the title of my review attests.
This show was a lot of fun and full of energy. I would highly recommend seeing this show if you are going to be in NYC
One of the best shows I've seen! Captivating throughout.
I was a little disappointed after all the hype about this show. Considering I paid $200 a ticket I expected a lot more laughs. To me it was not worth the money.
