The Book of Mormon was such a funny show! As a Christian I did not find their jokes offense, I found the whole production funny and entertaining, my boyfriend's stomach hurt from laughing. Also the props were amazing! Would definitely see it again :)

by eviltry on 3/23/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

This show was much better than I thought. Every scene had me laughing! If you like satire, or are a fan of South Park, this is a must see.

The Book of Mormon was a fast paced laugh filled show.

Nothing sensational. Entertaining but for the money something more can be found.

  • Book of Mormon was ok not great

    by Noodles2121 on 3/23/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

The cast was excellent. The music was good but not great. No memorable songs that will be sung in "Broadway's greatest hits". The play was creative and original but the humor was racist and homophobic. Maybe because we heard so much hype about how funny this play was, we were disappointed that it wasn't funnier. Bottom line- the Book of Mormon is way overpriced and not worth the money. Tip if you do go: the theatre is very small so even the back row of the balcony has a good view of the stage. Seats there are less expensive.

  • Book of Mormon - funnier than you've heard

by JustinGain on 3/23/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Very simply, if you enjoy in any small measure the humour of South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, you will enjoy this show. Brilliantly written and amazingly performed by a very talented cast. Go now! <@:)

  • great show

by hooliegan on 3/23/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

very funny and well done. I was entertained during the entire show. there weren't any slow spots. From what I heard, I thought it would be a little funnier, but that happens. I wouldn't personally call the musical hysterical, but that's what all my friends told me. I'm a tough judge. I would definitely go see it.

  • Freaking hilarious

    by Zink1412 on 3/23/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I have NEVER laughed so hard in a theater in my whole life! It was the funniest show I have ever seen, live or otherwise.

  • So fabulously offensive and funny.

by Chinesecat on 3/22/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Witty, hysterical and worth the exorbitant amount I paid for the tickets. I laughed out loud constantly. Such talented performers.

Obviously not for everyone, but enjoyable for us. We did it find language or storyline offensive.

  • Just A Whole Lotta Fun!

by Wanabeentertained on 3/21/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't really know what to expect but this was so funny and so much fun!! Not the original cast but it didn't matter, their personalities made their characters shine through and through. A must see!!

  • Awesome

The show was great! So much energy! My daughter and I enjoyed it a lot!

  • Book of Mormon Vulgar & Sacriligious

by Znel on 3/21/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

Giving the finger to God? (over and over) Intercourse with babies to cure aids? Vulgar language and simulated sodomy? C'mon, is this really okay? Is this how low we've fallen in what's considered acceptable and comedic? Had I read posted negative reviews PRIOR to seeing this play, I wouldn't have gone. Disturbing. A total waste of money and time. What could have been a fun, entertaining story was turned into something shockingly disgusting by playwrites. How it even made it to Broadway in the first place is puzzling. With all the great talent on Broadway, how this play is such a hit is beyond me. HAD to give a star in order to submit this review but NO star is warranted.

  • Book of Mormon hilarious

    by bublefan77 on 3/20/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Really funny! Great storyline. They spared no groups when poking fun at them. Be prepared to laugh. If your threshold for being offended is low, this won't be for you. Not kid appropriate.

  • Irreverent and Hysterically Funny!

by Kaceevh on 3/20/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Totally irreverent but completely unbiased - they make fun of everybody! Hysterically funny with songs that are both funny and poignant at the same time. The cast's beautiful voices and harmony just made it that much better. I wouldn't recommend this for children due to the language and inferences, or to anyone who is too easily offended to see the humor, but this adult loved it!

  • Excellent Play!

    by Yournamehere69 on 3/19/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

No complaints whatsoever with the show, it was fantastic! The theatre was ill suited. Mostly due to the crammed bathrooms and general facility setup. The drinks are horribly overpriced, even for NY/ Times Square standards.

  • I almost wet my pants!

by Goldanddiamonds on 3/19/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Being a huge South Park fan, I was expecting randomness, and I got it. I laughed so hard I was crying. I almost wet my pants actually! This musical is not for everyone. If you are conservative, this isn't for you. But if you have a great sense of humour, enjoy off coloured humour, you will love it!

  • Book of Mormon, New York

by LesliefromtheDesert on 3/18/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastically funny show. What else would one expect from those clever writers of South Park? If you're easily offended, this show is not for you. It's outrageous and irreverent, but so cleverly written and well acted that it was worth seeing more than once. I saw it in Hollywood, CA a few years ago, and had a chance to see it again in New York when I was there on a quick vacation. What an intelligent and energetic musical, and I'd recommend this show unequivocally.

  • A laugh a minute

by TravellerUK on 3/18/16Eugene O’Neill Theatre - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Has given me faith that musicals can be worthwhile. This has classic South Park type themes without the South Park kids. The Mormons take a bit of a beating, but I think they have done so in good spirit. Trey and Matt deserve all the awards for writing this show.
