Not great. And I'm being generous.

SUZANNE VEGA IN CONCERT:
In the late '80s, singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega carved a small but potent niche for herself with a relaxed, poetic brand of alt-pop. Nuanced, witty songs like "Tom's Diner" and "Luka" drew heavily on folk traditions, earning her popularity in alternative circles that she continues to enjoy today. A humble, genuine performer, Vega's soothing voice and smart songwriting will be front and center as she embarks on a 2014 tour in support of her eighth studio album Tales from the Real of the Queen of Pentacles.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
LA-born, New York-raised Suzanne Vega was a precocious young talent, beginning to write poetry at age nine and penning her first song by age 14. While majoring in literature at Bard College, she frequently traveled to Manhattan to perform in small venues and participate in the songwriter cooperative Fast Folk. She became one of the first artists from the Fast Folk family to make it big when she landed a major label contract in 1984, releasing her self-titled debut a year later. The album was a critical and commercial success, setting the stage for a string of acclaimed releases that included Solitude Standing (1987) and Days of Open Hand (1990). On the road in 2014 in support of her eighth album, fans can expect to hear some much-awaited new material alongside favorites like "Tom's Diner" and "In Liverpool."
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Suzanne is an amazing performer; she is so personable and comfortable with her audience. I almost felt like she was in my living room. Her voice continues to be strong and unique; she hasn't aged at all.”
"Suzanne has definitely got stamina...she took no breaks, her voice was remarkable, and her story-telling added to the enjoyment. She gave a walk down memory lane encore (Luka, Tom's Diner, Calypso, + one other) and played the guitar with energy."
"Incredible show. Once again Suzanne Vega impressed with her simple poetic lyrics and quirky folk/rock/pop. Her guitarist is amazing!"

Suzanne Vega played a great mix of old and new. Amazingly deep and expressive lyrics. The back story shared on some songs was fascinating. It was also educational as her newest work focuses on the great writer Carson McCullers.
It was great to see Suzanne Vega again! She played a lot of the original stuff up front, told us a lot about her new album / play and then played some from that, also. Her song descriptions were very informative.
I've known Suzanne Vega since I was a little girl and i've loved her songs. That was the first time I went to her concert. She is a great performer, funny and touching, she shared private moments with the audience and the audience was great!!!!! And the most amazing thing is that her voice hasn't changed a bit in the last 30+ years I would definitely recommend
Look, I'm old. Suzanne Vega is old. I don't know this club the Sinclair (which seemed perfectly pleasant) so I don't know GA means no seats Fine. But my ticket does say "8:00 PM". Doesn't say "Suzanne Vega and Friends". Opening act doesn't appear until after nine. We don't see Suzanne Vega until after ten. When you've paid for tickets, parking, a babysitter and your ticket says "8pm" I consider 10 to be two hours late. Artists make all their money by touring these days. They need every ticket sale they can get. Do NOT screw with a frequent concert goer.
When the time was changed from 8 to 10 pm, we were unable to attend.
This event felt very intimate and personal. Suzanne Vega is a true artist and folk performer. She weaves the story of her songs into her performance, peppered with humble humor and endearing quirks. If you are a fan of her work, definitely don't pass up the chance to see her preform live. It gave me an even deeper appreciation of her work.
Suzanne and Gerry Leonard (who was Bowie's lead guitarist, or at least his "musical director") put on a very emotional, sensitive, and amazing show. Suzanne has a very understated, humble way about her. Her banter with the audience was very kind and enlightened. Gerry didn't say anything, verbally, but his guitars did all of the talking. My wife, who wasn't really a fan, enjoyed the show far more than she expected. Me, on the other hand, who used to secretly listen to Suzanne's first album, and maybe even her second, well, she performed those songs to studio perfection. Don't miss her, and Gerry, if you can!
Suzanne's smooth voice with excellent music by Gerry Leonard made for 2 hours of perfect music. Very friendly Meet N Greet by both artists afterwards made for a perfect evening.
I saw Suzanne back in 1987 when Luka was on the radio. Since then I just never had the chance I guess. When I heard she'd be playing a two hour ride from my house, I jumped on it. Her voice is so pure , her intonation is just impeccable. She was performing with Gerry Leonard on electric guitar with an amazing array of effects. Her sense of humor is a great as her music. She told several stories of the inspiration behind her lyrics. I hope to see her again.
I love seeing songwriters perform their work - Suzanne Vega is fantastic and the chance to see her live sharing 30 years of songs, memoires, music is something I will forever cherish.
It was a great show! She is a great performer just a guitar and her voice.
Wonderful artist! she is so talented and amazing live!
Sound was great and her voice and songs incredible
She played old and new songs, her guitar plus her companion's guitar were beautiful together.
I generally enjoy Suzanne Vega's music but my major complaint about this performance was that most of the time I was unable to understand her words. Either she was too close to the mike, there was a problem with the sound system, the accompanying guitar was too loud or she was not articulating clearly. Although she has a nice manner and writes great lyrics and music, this concert just did not do it for me.
Once again, Suzanne gives a great performance! She performed a mixture of her classics as well as her new material. This is an artist that never stops! Suzanne is always touring and/or writing.
After waiting 30 years to finally get to see Suzanne Vega, I can honestly say it was worth the wait. With a mix of new and old songs. Totally rocked.
Great acoustics, very engaging performer. Concert started right at scheduled time. Ushers we're professional and helpful. The venue had an old world cozy feeling. Loved the intermission with cocktails available.
Would see Suzanne Vega again and again. She is talented and fun to see.
