About
Now on Broadway through January 1 only! SOMETHING ROTTEN! is the hilarious Broadway smash from the director of ALADDIN and the co-director of THE BOOK OF MORMON!
This mash-up of 16th Century Shakespeare and 21st Century Broadway tells the story of brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, two playwrights stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rockstar Will Shakespeare. When a soothsayer foretells the next big thing in theatre, the Bottom Brothers set out to write the world's very first MUSICAL! With the most singing, the most dancing, and the most gut-busting laughs on Broadway, it's something wonderful... something for everyone... It's SOMETHING ROTTEN!, "the funniest musical comedy in at least 400 years" (Time Out New York)!

by RNDee213 on 12/31/16St. James Theatre - New YorkAlthough this was a great show, the character of Shakespeare was lacking the flavor that Christian Borle brought to the stage. That arrogant bastard that we love to hate was downplayed with Adam Pascal's rendition of Shakespeare. Adam Pascal did not play the pompous dick but instead played a spoiled brat. I'm happy that I was able to see the play with Christian Borle as Shakespear. I would only recommend the show if Christian played the part of Shakespeare. He made me really hate Shakespeare.

by MusicMax on 12/30/16St. James Theatre - New YorkWOW! This is an amazing musical. Not only was the story-line funny and entertaining, but the energy and flair from the cast was superior. We thoroughly enjoyed the show from start to finale. The costumes, scenery, acting, singing, dancing, text, music made the entire production spectacular. This is a true Broadway hit. We are sad that it is soon coming to its close on Broadway, but hope the national tour brings them close to us so we can see it again.
