  • The King Of Telluride

    by Chuckl1956 on 3/7/20Avalon Theatre - Grand JunctionRating: 5 out of 5

First off our local eclectic bluegrass band Straygrass sounded amazing in the Avalon. Some new songs and a guest appearance by Sam got the night off to a great start. Sam and his band as you would expect sounded amazing with a set list of old and new tunes. The Electric songs were high energy and sounded amazing. Sam finished the evening with a solo acoustic tune. The show did not disappoint and we were so happy to see Sam up close and personal in a small packed theater. One of the true innovators of bluegrass music who delivers an amazing performance.

  • Sam Bush rocks

by BullCityYakker on 11/26/19Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Sam Bush is an amazing, virtuoso performer on mandolin, fiddle and electric guitar. His bluegrass songs -- influenced by jazz, blues, and modern rock -- are a joy to hear and experience. Plus, viewing the show from the balcony boxes in the Carolina Theater was a special treat!

  • Sammy Bush!!!

by Dawn of the Dead on 11/26/19Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

What a wonderful evening! Sam was at his energetic best, flawlessly playing the most elaborate combinations of notes, with the flair only he possesses. Loved his cover of My Baby Wrote Me a Letter-it was the highlight of the evening. The sound was spot-on, and it was lovely to see the venue chock full of exuberant music lovers!

  • Great Newgrass Show at the Carolina Durham

by Wil on 11/26/19Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

Great music, great venue! The Carolina Theater in Durham has fantastic acoustics and views for live music. Only problem is that it’s hard to dance when the music and spirit move you.

  • A first class show with two great acts

by Terry Closet on 10/26/19Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

The opening act (Del Coury Band) played a series of great bluegrass quality and their musicians are top notch. Sam Bush is off the charts, his diversity of music, magnificient mandoline playing and passionate energy is out of this wold. His song Stop the Violence was so well placed and received, Fantastic evening

  • Totally Awesome

by susie on 10/26/19Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Sam is so great. He puts on a fantastic show every time he steps on the stage. Thanks

  • The traveling mcrourys are really tight excellent musicians

by Robin on 10/26/19Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Ronnie is a great singer and mandolin player. Jason Carter sings well and plays a mean fiddle. The Sam bush band has the same instruments As the traveling mcrourys except a drummer instead of a fiddler. Sam plays exuberantly. They included mods to doc Watson and Leon russel and John McLaughlin. They all jammed together with pairs playing call and response. Excellent!

  • Sam the MAN

by Jani on 1/14/19Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The show was a packed crowed with people standing and dancing to the music - high energy and incredible performance. Sam Bush once again showed his masterful approach to both the mandolin and fiddle. It was such a fun experience and so uplifting I am still on a music high! The entire band kept the audience bouncing in their seats. The encore included the opening act and guest musicians - it was awesome. I hope Sam comes back to Knoxville soon.

I have yet to be disappointed with a Sam Bush show. Whether he's by himself or jammin with friends he is an American standard for the acoustic Bluegrass genre.
