About
Potted Potter at The Magic Attic at Bally's Las Vegas
Talk about magic!
British comedy actors Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner have distilled all 4,200 pages of J. K. Rowling's seven Harry Potter novels into one brilliantly hilarious 70-minute show. Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience is a lovably loopy two-person performance in which a Potter know-it-all teams up with a rebellious Harry newbie to create a show about — you guessed it — Harry Potter
Clarkson and Turner conceived the show in 2005 as a five-minute sidewalk synopsis to amuse customers queued up for Rowling's sixth Harry novel. They expanded it to an hour the following year and opened at Edinburgh's Zoo Southside. European tours ensued, and in 2012 Potted Potter was nominated for two Olivier Awards, the highest honor in British theater. The show made its off-Broadway debut the same year and has since toured all over the United States and the world. After opening in 2018, the family-friendly Las Vegas production won Best of Last Vegas Awards for Best New Production and Best Value Show.
About the show Potted Potter
One actor channels a bookish Harry in Potted Potter while another plays every other character — including Ron and Hermione, Draco Malfoy, Snape, the Weasleys, Sirius Black, Mad-Eye Moody, Dumbledore and, of course, He Who Must Not Be Named — with wild abandon. Loads of wigs and other goofy props are employed in a nonstop laugh fest that also features a fire-breathing dragon, countless costume changes, brilliant songs, a plethora of props and even a Quidditch match encouraging audience participation (but no brooms, alas).
Accessible to Potter freaks and newbies alike, Potted Potter blends slapstick in the Laurel & Hardy vaudeville tradition with the wildly witty dialogue associated with Monty Python's Flying Circus. "Potting" is a British term for "the art of summarizing something into a digestible form," and, like all the best parodies, Clarkson and Turner's Harry experience is both splendid spoof and heartfelt homage.

by LizPotterFan on 5/13/13710 Main Street - BuffaloI was front row and center for this event. Wow! What fun!! The actors were so clever and witty. Ad-libbing some of the context to include the audience was unexpected but made for an even better experience. The audience was made of primarily older adults which was surprising but so enjoyable to know that others my age could enjoy the Potted Potter / Harry Potter experience.

by Cres1121 on 5/13/13710 Main Street - BuffaloI would of like to have seen a more adult version of this show especially in the evening. I thought the actorss were funny and they were very good working off each other. Concept was spot on.... But they played to the kids too much. Did bring back the books allot and I laughed till I cryed. Tickets were a tad expensive.

by GloriafromAppleton on 5/13/13710 Main Street - BuffaloI laughed so hard that my face actually hurt! I didn't know what to expect going in, but as I left, I vowed to see it again as soon as possible. An absolutely hysterically funny parody. It isn't often that I laugh so hard that I cry, but this was one of those times. GO SEE IT!

Rating: 5 out of 5 A magical performance
by Katie148 on 5/11/13710 Main Street - BuffaloPotted Potter was truly a memorable event. Gary & Del were perfect in the roles of Harry Potter & all the other characters. Gary as the straight man & Del as the comedic one were the best. Their repetoire fed of each other as well as the audience. The 710 Theater (former studio arena) was the perfect venue for this event. An intimate experience. Hilarious show. The best! We laughed so hard - almost stopped breathing. In fact, my daughter went back for a 2nd performance with another friend - enjoyed it just as much.

by Everythingelsetaken on 5/10/13710 Main Street - BuffaloTook my 18 year old daughter to see Potted Potter. We both loved it. Had no idea what to expect. Couldn't believe the whole show was just going to be these two guys! But they were hilarious and the whole production is so clever and creative with basically just stuff you might find in any kids room. Laughed so hard my face hurt the next day! We both want to see it again. I would recommend it to any one of any age - as long as you have a sense of humor!
