Talk about magic!
British comedy actors Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner have distilled all 4,200 pages of J. K. Rowling's seven Harry Potter novels into one brilliantly hilarious 70-minute show. Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience is a lovably loopy two-person performance in which a Potter know-it-all teams up with a rebellious Harry newbie to create a show about -- you guessed it -- Harry Potter.
Clarkson and Turner conceived the show in 2005 as a five-minute sidewalk synopsis to amuse customers queued up for Rowling's sixth Harry novel. They expanded it to an hour the following year and opened at Edinburgh's Zoo Southside. European tours ensued, and in 2012 Potted Potter was nominated for two Olivier Awards, the highest honor in British theater. The show made its off-Broadway debut the same year and has since toured all over the United States and the world. After opening in 2018, the family-friendly Las Vegas production won Best of Last Vegas Awards for Best New Production and Best Value Show.
One actor channels a bookish Harry in Potted Potter while another plays every other character -- including Ron and Hermione, Draco Malfoy, Snape, the Weasleys, Sirius Black, Mad-Eye Moody, Dumbledore and, of course, He Who Must Not Be Named -- with wild abandon. Loads of wigs and other goofy props are employed in a nonstop laugh fest that also features a fire-breathing dragon, countless costume changes, brilliant songs, a plethora of props and even a Quidditch match encouraging audience participation (but no brooms, alas).
Accessible to Potter freaks and newbies alike, Potted Potter blends slapstick in the Laurel & Hardy vaudeville tradition with the wildly witty dialogue associated with Monty Python's Flying Circus. "Potting" is a British term for "the art of summarizing something into a digestible form," and, like all the best parodies, Clarkson and Turner's Harry experience is both splendid spoof and heartfelt homage.

Fantastic show. My kids laughed the whole way through (I did too if I'm being honest). Highly recommended.
Potted Potter is a lot of fun. The play is hilarious. The two actors are very energetic and play off each other very well. This is great for the family and adults. If you are a Harry Potter fan, you will enjoy this play. If you have never heard of Harry Potter, you will still enjoy the play. I laughed a lot.
The show was absolutely amazing. We laughed so hard we had tears running down our cheeks.
Really funny, great references to the books, really creative, didn’t want it to end!
Really funny and great show! Great for kids and adults. I highly recommend!
Of the 70 minute show, 7 mins were funny the rest was really pathetic. This show is poorly written and painful for the actors to perform. The theatre has about 50 seats. It is not worth it to have 3 categories of seating because the theatre is so small. Save your money and time see another show.
What a surprisingly delightful magically awesomely funny show!! Extremely well done considering just two guys with 70 minutes to entertain and kept everybody laughing.
The show was funny and enjoyable. Good thing to do in the middle of the hot day. I did get sprayed with a water gun.
Great actors. Poor scripts. Best left for a local am dram society. I hope to see them both in a future show as they can both act and do comedy. But this show was one I took my kids too and we left flat. We were hugely disappointed and for over $200 it should have been better.
Witty, funny and family friendly. Clever romp through the Potter canon, but might not satisfy extreme Potter-ites!
I know nothing about Harry Potter however the person I took as a birthday gift is a big fan of all of the Harry Potter books and movies. I was thoroughly entertained even though I’ve never read a book or seen any of the movies. Very well done and very fast-paced
Funny and short with lots of reference to the Harry Potter films. The actors were funny and incorporated the audience into the show! Some parts a little repetitive. Fun references to today’s pop culture and broadway musicals. Only lovers of broadway would get some of the jokes. Overall, you need to have seen all eight movies or read each 7 books to understand some of the shows references. 4/5 stars as the price could be a little cheaper because of the size of the theatre, and not as amazing of a show as some others in Vegas, but overall a good time.
In the marketing of the show it sounds like it’s going to be a much bigger production than it is. Don’t get me wrong my 12 y/o and I laughed the whole way through and caught most of the fast-paced jokes. But it’s much more of a street performance done in a quaint theater than a Vegas show with a fire breathing dragon.
The show seemed very amateur. Walked out after 30 mins. Not what you’d expect from an expensive Vegas show.
I took my 2 teenage daughters to see this. They loved it and laughed throughout the entire show. This show is goofy and ha ha funny. You won’t leave without laughing. The room of the show is really small. We got the seats in the middle section and they were perfect. There is really no need to be any closer. The venue was full of families with kids of all age groups. Enjoy the show!
A very enjoyable performance- able to span both generations and different nations. We all laughed till our faces ached! Great British humour; a little bit of slapstick, plays on words, visual gags and a summary of Harry Potter - what more could you want. A great way to start our holiday!
Great show. Extremely talented duo. Incorporated multiple other movie references to top it off. Highly recommend.
kids loved the show. the actors were well informed about each of the different books in a parody form.
A fun little two man show with fun jokes and fun gags. The actors were great.
