The Christmas Nutcracker was an amazing show! Everyone was so talented, and I highly recommend this fantastic performance to everyone!

  • The organization was a disaster

by Vavo27 on 1/2/25The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater - Miami BeachRating: 2 out of 5

I would not recommend the nutcracker at this venue. Probably half the time there were people being escorted in and out of the theatre. We had great orchestra seats and there were tons of people standing infront of us and being escorted right and left. I have never been to a show where management has so little concern of participants viewing. They did not bring in late people during intermission and the management was lost on what to do. Additionally, there was no sound or announcement when the show was going to start and when intermission ended. If you come to see a show here, there will people infront of you blocking your viewing for half the time. The theatre has no idea how to organize people and a show.

  • The magic continues

by Carl and Lisa on 1/2/25Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

A wonderful performance has become our annual trip to close the season. The performance was breathtaking as always. We look forward to seeing all the dancers each year.

  • MiamiNutcracker

by Chris on 1/2/25The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater - Miami BeachRating: 4 out of 5

For starters I had to go to the box office to get my tickets because the app kept giving me an error message. I thought my seats were going to be closer to the stage. I am still waiting to be able to get the photos that were taken of my date and I with the dancers. Not all photos are yet available. It would have been nice to have the dancer who played the Nutcracker in the lobby for photos, it is the Nutcracker show. The show was not sold out, it would have been nice to have been given the opportunity to sit closer to the stage.

  • Disappointed

We go every year and this was not up to the quality of performance we’ve seen in the past.

  • Best Nutcracker Production I have seen

by Kate J on 1/1/25Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 4 out of 5

This was the best Nutcracker production I have ever seen and I have seen Nutcracker Ballet about 20 times in different places around the globe. It was beautiful and entertaining to watch. Great for young audience. The dancers were not the best in the world, but decent enough and the added artistic performance, vivid scenes and costumes made it really special. Negatives: I missed the real orchestra. And the fact that you can not bring your own water is ridiculous. Especially when the bar closes before the end of the show, so if you are thirsty after the show you are out of luck. The staff was not particularly kind either.

  • Wonderful family experience

by Nutcracker 2024 St Pete on 1/1/25Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

The performances of the featured dancers were enhanced by the ensemble of dancers with them, the synchronization of the large cast was amazing. The costumes were so colorful, and the addition of the two props used did not distract from the original story. It was so good to see some beauty in the world that is so ugly at times.

  • Classic tradition

Beautifully preformed! A classic timeless tradition for all generations.

  • Meh.. they missed the mark this year..

by Boris on 1/1/25Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 3 out of 5

While there were some wonderful aspects of this year’s Nutcracker production, they were few and separated by questionable choreography and needless grandstanding. The actual story was undone by needless periphery action and the upstaging of principal characters by secondary nonsense. There repetitive coda, curtain call, coda, curtain call, by the same dancer.. quickly became annoying.. especially when the dancing was mediocre. The sequencing, choreography, and production are just too disjointed and inconsistent this year. On the bright side; The Arabian was an impressive display of dance and strength. The national mascots were delightful humor breaks. The Snowflakes and several of the ensemble numbers were very nicely done. The kids obviously had a great time.

  • Fantastic!

It was an amazing show with incredible acrobatics and skill. Very talented performers and would absolutely see it again!

  • A magical classic

by Anotherflowerchild on 12/31/24Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

Charming! The dance production flowed with the grace of all the cast members, professional AND youth! Lighting effects were magical.

  • It was ok

by Chris on 12/31/24Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 4 out of 5

Have been going for years and really didn’t like the new choreography. Then the kids in the audience were a distraction. Baby crying, little ones tapping you on the head and shoulders while their parents were on their phones during the performance. Then the little ones in front of you were dancing in the aisles in front of you. Parents ignoring them and so did the ushers.

  • A different kind of night

by JG on 12/29/24McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllenRating: 5 out of 5

First time seeing The nutcracker at the Performing Art Center in McAllen. What a wonderful night! Great from beginning to end. I felt entertained and engaged throughout the presentation. There’s something magical about ballet and the nutcracker was not the exception. Dancer and performer from youngest to oldest were incredibly talented. So blessed to have been able to be there. Wishing you all the best for the rest of the season ✨❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  • Disappointing

by Rebekah on 12/29/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 2 out of 5

This was our first time attending the Nutcracker at DPAC. We go every year and usually try different venues. I had high expectations considering the description on the website, DPAC’s reputation, and the cost of the tickets. I’ll start by saying the staff were all very friendly and the venue was clean. As for the ballet itself…where to begin? I should’ve read closer to see there was no live orchestra. That’s my fault, but it is an expectation I have at that price point. The principal dancers were good. But the rest of the corps made it seem like amateur hour at your local community theatre. The children were cute but did not know what they were doing and I felt like they were put there as a distraction from the subpar dancing that was happening on the other parts of the stage. At one point a male dancer stumbled and almost dropped his female counterpart (Russian dance). There was very little synchronization between the dancers. The set felt amateurish as well with the cheesy projection lights and no “snow” falling during the Waltz of the Snowflakes. Overall, a big disappointment.

  • Excellent

by TMS on 12/28/24The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 5 out of 5

Very well professionally done. My 2 grandchildren ages 9 and 7 loved it this was their first experience of seeing the Nutcracker. We thought my 7-year old grandson would get bored and restless. Not so he was captivated throughout the show. At intermission I asked him what he thought and he gave a 2 thumbs up. At the end of the show when people began to stand up he stood up and stated very boldly: "That was amazing"! it was well worth spending a holiday seeing a live show with family.

  • Worth a look at least once

by Liz on 12/28/24Arizona Financial Theatre - PhoenixRating: 3 out of 5

The event did not start promptly at the time it was posted for, but I appreciate that extra 15 minutes as getting situated can take a while. I feel like there wasn't very many performers making it feel like a small scale show. The lighting was a little too dark for my licking throughout the show. Loved the music and dancers. Worth seeing at least once.

  • Wonderful Holiday Experience

by Jan on 12/28/24Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best Nutcracker I’ve seen. It was professional with graceful dancers. The props, costumes and lighting were all just magical. I hope this team comes back to Chattanooga as I would love to see them again and again!

  • Very amateur production .

by Family Outing on 12/27/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 2 out of 5

Overall it is a “cute” production however the skill of the dancers is noticeably lacking. Their timing was consistently off which made everything distracting .
