About

NEIL YOUNG AND CRAZY HORSE IN CONCERT:

Legendary singer-songwriter Neil Young continues to thrill fans with perennial outings alongside his collaborative band Crazy Horse. Whether they're bringing down the house at Carnegie Hall or sharing the stage with luminaries like Diana Krall, the band always  puts on a stellar, wide-ranging show that keeps fans on their toes. Playing marathon sets that include classics like "Old Man" and "Heart of Gold" alongside creative covers of fellow giants like Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan, the band's unparalleled musicianship and Young's familiar voice are sure to bring back plenty of memories.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Since the late '60s, Neil Young and Crazy Horse have released more than 10 albums, exploring such diverse genres  as country-folk, pop, and psychedelic rock. The band is best known, however, for Neil Young's iconic folk rock songwriting, popularized by hugely successful songs like "Cinammon Girl." Never content to rest on their laurels, Young and company have remained musically prolific and sonically experimental, earning rave reviews for their 2012 double-LP release Psychedelic Pill.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“Neil Young and Crazy Horse play like the rock and roll legends that they are. Truly a great show reminiscent of the classics from the early days.”

“They weren't going through the motions, they were making them. Improvising, jamming, messing up, laughing, only in the way Neil and the Horse can. They were so tightly tuned in to one another and sounded great, but the best part was that they seemed happy to be there, happy to perform.”

“Neil is a genius! After all these years, he still rocks and puts on a great show!”

    Horrible

by cas on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

The show was awful 1) the opening act should never have been there- they belong in a church no one wants to attend 2) Neil Young looked old and sounded older- the acoustics were poor- way too loud of guitars vs vocals 3) Never again

Good but could have been better

by GB on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

He left out some of his classic cuts from his career, and played a few very obscure songes such "Danger Bird"of his Zuma album.that most people haven't heard of. I would have like to have seen him play classics lke "After the God Rush"or "Old Man". All in all it was a decent show just missed on some of the classics.

    Neil Young

by Mark on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

He sounded great but viewing from the lawn seating was bad because they didn’t turn on LED screens so we couldn’t see anything.

    FATHER/DAUGHTER/ CONCERT

by RAY-KAT on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

We don't attend many concerts. I liked all of the parameters set forth by Neil Young /Live Nation. 4 ticket max. No transfers. Free parking. Supporting local brewries/vendors. No plastic Reasonably priced tickets. Everyone at the venue was profesional and helpful and cheerful. We enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Neil Young Concert. Thank you!

    Not so good

by Ngrovz on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

Bad song selections. No video screens, they worked for commercials before and after the show. Bad sound. Bad choice of encore song, at least play an encore most people know. $20 cans of beer. Opening band may be the worst band I have ever seen. Thankfully they only lasted about 25 minutes. Go see a cover band for a quarter of the price. At least they will play the songs you want to hear. From where we sat you couldn't tell the difference without the video screen. Someone said Neil might not want to be seen on the screen at his age. All the fans were just as old.

    Bad venue

by Mcspyd on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

So much wrong about this venue for Neil Young. Section 305 is worthless…unable to see the stage because the view is completely blocked by people in tall chairs and the people who stop and watch the show directly in front of this section. To make matters worse, the screens weren’t on, so there was no way to see the show. What a terrible experience. I have zero desire to return to Talking Stick. There are plenty of other options.

    Seeing Neil and the horse

by Becky on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

Almost 50+ years later and they still rock! I was so excited about the concert and I wasn't disappointed. Nice on the lawn, the food lines were a little slow, but a great night overall.

    Great flashback

by Back on the Horse on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

What a great show! The show is never long enough. Drinks and food prices were exorbitant. Our seats were $100 each, would have much more like to sit in the $350 seats, but way out of my price range. Isn't that a heck of a lot of money for a concert?

Paid about $2000 for tickets & couldn’t see

by Kathy on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

Neil Young was great!!!! BUT we couldn’t see him!!!! We paid almost $2000 for our tickets that were in the 2nd row, almost center and we could only get an occasional glimpse of the performers, even standing, because of the “pit”. First row people couldn’t see either which caused them to stand the entire concert too. Many, many people around us were upset that they paid a lot of money and couldn’t see the stage. The “pit” should not be allowed unless it is below seats level! We are an older generation and didn’t plan on standing the entire time. I could have bought much cheaper “pit” tickets if I wanted to stand. I doubt we will keep our tickets for another future event as those seats will be blocked by “pit”. Very disappointed in venue for this.

    Great show!

by Scott on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

Great show by Neil Young and crazy Horse. However it would have been nice to know I was sitting behind a pillar! I could see the whole band but if Neil went any further to his left he was behind the pillar. It didn't help when people would stand next to the pillar to take pictures. Live and learn, seats 1-5 in section 303 should be avoided.

    Abso Bleeping Lutley AMAZING

by Rock&Roller on 4/30/24Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU - San Diego

They opened the Tour with a 2 night shows at San Diego State Open Air Theater. I attended the Thursday night show and it was SO GREAT. Neil's Voice sounded Loud and Clear. He played a mix of older and newer material, and Crazy Horse accompanied him excellent. He didn't play the exact same set both nights, but he did play 3 solo acoustic numbers each night including an Epic Version of Heart of Gold. He ended the set With a Really Rockin edition of Keep on Rockin in the Free World. I have been to literally hundreds of Classic Rock concerts and this was ONE of the BEST shows that I have ever seen. My recommendation is that if you have a chance to catch Neil Young and Crazy Horse anytime on this tour then Do so. You WILL NOT regret it.

    Amazing, soulful experience!

by Panthera on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

Neil Young and Crazy Horse were amazing together after all these years. This group still has the same dynamic and sounds just as good if not better than they did in 1969! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

    Phenomenal musician

by Carol on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

I was astounded by the performance of this 80 year old man. He still ROCKS that guitar and to be able to play the guitar, the harmonica and sing all at the same time floored me! Strong voice which I think is better than ever! My only complaint is that there were no Jumbotron’s showing him on stage. I was very disappointed with that. Other than that, my #1 concert has been removed from my bucket list ♥️

    Loud show, sweet crowd

by Goldminer on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

How great to see the whole Crazy Horse band! They play ear splittingly loud and a bit loose after all these years, though Neil was spot on. Loved the Earth centered theme! There was a sweet vibe across the crowd, though a bit too many folks getting too drunk, one throwing up directly in front of my stage view, twice.

    Neil Young w Crazy Horse

by csnylove on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

No big screens activated. Poor visibility. They were filming on the left of stage and totally blocked our view and we were in the first section. If we would have seen the set list we would not have attended. Neil was our number 1 favorite at Desert Trip. Too many 20 minute songs, or should I say very long guitar riffs, from later Neil and did not play the biggest hits that we all bought and loved. Glad we saw Neil one last time but very disappointed.

    Neil Young in Phx

by MandaMx on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

We didn't like the opening act, waste of time. Neil Young only sang 2 songs I knew. The Jumbotron was not used so we couldn't see Neil very well. I am glad I brought binoculars. His head was down the majority of the time, he didn't speak much. I am a big fan, but this was a disappointing show.

    Mixed

by BD on 4/30/24Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre - Phoenix

First Neil was good. Friendly with the crowd played a good mix of old and new. The problem was the identity of the concert site. I've been to many concerts at Talking Stick Resort including outside by the pool, the ball room and small amphitheatre little did I know that the Talking Stick Casino Amphitheatre was miles on the other side of town and a large venue 👎
