About

Everyone's favorite Scottish nanny is headed on tour in "a feel-good, family-friendly comedy that delivers" (The Hollywood Reporter). Based on the beloved film and directed by four-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Zaks, Mrs. Doubtfire tells the hysterical and heartfelt story of an out-of-work actor who will do anything for his kids. It's "the lovable, big-hearted musical comedy we need right now," raves the Chicago Tribune - one that proves we're better together.

  • Funny Show However Lacks Momentum

by AZ Reviewer on 9/20/24ASU Gammage - TempeRating: 4 out of 5

Mrs. Doubtfire was a funny show; however, just when it was becoming hilarious then they have long serious scenes that break the momentum. This is a comedy and not a drama. I understand you need some dramatic scenes; however, keep them short. The actor that played Mrs. Doubtfire was AMAZING!!! He is the most versatile actor I have ever seen. Not only could he deliver the lines for two characters, he could dance and much more. The actor that portrayed Natalie Hillard was the best singer. She could be a major recording artist. I attended the performance at the ASU Gammage on 9/17/24.

Good hear and see well. Only problem my friend and I could not understand the little girl’s words and either could the woman in back of me. Star was terrific and rest of the cast was very good. Especially the actor that that played the brother’s wife. Good songs and dance routines.

Great show! The singing, the dancing, costumes, sets, storyline- all great. And what a talented cast! The kids were so good. The voices of the entire cast were incredible. And the husband and wife… WOW! Is there anything he can’t do? Singing, dancing, and his ad lib was hilarious. Don’t miss this show.

  • Mrs. doubtful in SD

by Pooh on 7/2/24San Diego Civic Theatre - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the musical! We weren’t able to see it NYC, so glad it traveled to SD. The lead singer was amazing and the older daughter had a great voice. The microphones were not the best, as we missed some of the jokes.

Absolute delight. The entire production was flawless, with spectacular music, stunning lighting, and outstanding performances by the cast especially Rob McClure portrayal of Daniel was nothing short of phenomenal, his performance was incredibly well-executed and truly outstanding. Every moment of the show was filled with joy and emotion. We loved it. It is a must see.

  • Mrs. D gets a D

by Assman on 6/30/24Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

Let me start off by saying, the actors were fantastic. If you’re going to take a beloved movie and put it on stage, it’s gotta be different enough. And this production was lacking - pure teeth rotting cotton candy. Not one memorable song. Best scene was when Mrs. Selnar pays Daniel and Mrs. D a visit - same but different from the movie. And what happened to theater etiquette? The ladies behind me echoed comedic lines instead of just laughing like a regular person. And the ladies next to me had a whole conversation while her Apple Watch lit up the aisle. I did tell them to lower their voice and they were receptive- probably just unaware (drunk).
