About

Everyone's favorite Scottish nanny is headed on tour in "a feel-good, family-friendly comedy that delivers" (The Hollywood Reporter). Based on the beloved film and directed by four-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Zaks, Mrs. Doubtfire tells the hysterical and heartfelt story of an out-of-work actor who will do anything for his kids. It's "the lovable, big-hearted musical comedy we need right now," raves the Chicago Tribune - one that proves we're better together.

    Great show. Creative adaptations

by Starstruck in Raleigh on 3/27/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

I loved Robin Williams in the film version. Those were big shoes to fill. I feel like this adaptation was thoughtfully created. Making it a musical added a fun twist. The acting was great, too! They were a very talented troupe!

    Mrs. D

by Patsy on 3/26/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

The cast did a great job. I have seen several broadway shows and Mrs. Doubtfire was good but I guess I was somewhat disappointed. It deviated from the actual movie with inserts that did not have the same WOW factor. It was a fun day with my daughters.

    Surprisingly witty and energetic

by Big Al on 3/24/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

We thought the star was extremely talented performing multiple character voices while everyone in the cast were very professional. The singing and dancing was clearly above average and the general overall performance was well worth seeing.

    Not A Fan

    by CDub23 on 3/23/24

I was not a fan of Mrs. Doubtfire and I’m usually very open to just about any Broadway production. It was funny at first but then many of the “jokes” later on were in very bad taste. Particularly describing Mrs. Doubtfire as an “illegal alien from Switzerland.” I detest using that terminology in any form. Frankly, it ruined the show for me. Beyond that, the show was just meh overall. There are some films that should not be turned into stage musicals. Mrs. Doubtfire is one of them.

by Stacy Jarrett on 3/20/24The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

I saw several bad reviews of the show and even a guy when we went to lunch before the show said it wasn’t that great. I don’t know what show they were watching because this was AMAZING!

    Heartwarming and fun!

by Disneyfreak8 on 3/20/24The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

This show was so much fun!! Like the majority of other people, I’ve seen the movie many times, but this musical incorporates elements from the movie plus new material so well. Rob McClure is an absolute star and shines as Daniel/Mrs. Doubtfire! His real life wife Maggie Lakis plays opposite him as ex-wife Miranda and really gives more depth to the character and why she makes the decisions she makes. The Hillard children were fantastic, especially the very talented Giselle Gutierrez who plays the oldest daughter Lydia. The ensemble cast does a great job at supporting the main cast and are so talented! I had only heard a couple songs from the Broadway album before seeing this show in person and it did not disappoint by any means. The songs range from catchy, fun, and heartbreaking, and it really makes you feel for the characters. I would definitely see this performance again if I had the chance!

Came in grumpy and left happy

by Ramjet on 3/17/24The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

After a trying day at work and traffic nightmares we were finally able to head to the theater after a bite to eat for dinner. The cast was fantastic. The many voices of the lead were hilarious the way he used them. Lots of strong singing voices including the kids. Go in grumpy and leave happy.
