LETTUCE is (a) the prime ingredient in a salad, (b) a slang for cash, (c) a green herb that can be smoked, (d) a genre-busting six-member musical collective formed in 1992 by four alumni of the prestigious Berklee College Of Music, or (e) all of the above. If you answered "e," then you're in on the sheer magic of a band that both feeds the rich history of funk and combines it with strains of hip-hop, rock, psychedelia, jazz, soul, jam, go-go, and the avant-garde.
The GRAMMY Award-nominated six-piece is comprised of Adam Deitch [drums, percussion, arrangement], Adam "Shmeeans" Smirnoff [guitar], Erick "Jesus" Coomes [bass], Ryan Zoidis [alto, baritone, tenor sax, Korg X-911], Eric "Benny" Bloom [trumpet, horns], and Nigel Hall [vocals, Hammond B-3, Rhodes, clavinet, keyboards]. To date, their discography includes Outta Here [2002], Rage! [2008], Fly [2012], Crush [2015], the EP Mt. Crushmore [2016], the live album Witches Stew [2017], Elevate [2019], Resonate [2020], Unify [2022], and now VIBE - a single 48 minute continuous session of pure, free-flowing improvisation, available digitally for the first time.
With VIBE, Lettuce cement their status as boundary-pushing innovators three decades into their lauded career, blurring lines and smashing up jazz chords, psychedelic passages, big horns, strains of soul and go-go, hip-hop elements for an uplifting, improvisational sound all their own. Ryan Zoidis explains, "we got into a vibe and hit record. 48 minutes went by like a blink of an eye. This is our first purely improvised recording. Nothing planned, nothing edited or overdubbed. This is a true spontaneous musical expression captured in its entirety."
All together now... Lett us VIBE.

Great sound, great venue, phenomenal group. Can't wait for the next show!!
Excellent show. First set was dynamite. Full of energy from start to finish.
You can't escape the funk. Don't even try. Dancing shoes on and get ready to put a little boogie in it.
What a great show and great band. Would definitely go again
The Lettuce concert was entertaining and colorful. The way they incorporated the lights into the show, to coincide with the music was fantastic. The singer Nigel Hall who joined them for the second 1/2 of the show blew me away! So much energy on that stage, especially the trumpet player, Eric Bloom.
Words were scarce. Soul was not. Good, rockin funk band that will get you out of your seat and movin.
It rained heavily during Exxmag and it cut their set short. The Motet was awesome.
Jazzy Jeff, The Motet and Lettuce absolutely KILLED it. Shout out to Lettuce for bringing on Neil Hayes but and even bigger shout out to The Motet for stealing the show!!! :)
Tight, tight, tight! Impossible not to shake your groove thing when Lettuce is in the house!! So, wear your dancing shoes. Shady Horns knock your socks off; best rythym section on the planet! It would be wrong not to laud the guitar, B-3 players and singers, too...all of whom are stellar players. Thanks, guys, for a fabulous show !
Awesome show they only complaint is wish it would have been longer!!!
This show was an amazing value and some of the best live music I've ever seen. Branx was the perfect choice to open for a funk/blues show. Soulive put on an incredible show- Eric Krasano is a guitar god. Then Lettuce rocked electric factory for almost 2 hours- hands down the best 30 bucks I've ever spent.
We were there at 9pm. The warm up band came on close to 10pm. They were very good and entertaining, but we never got to see lettuce. It was 12;30am and the band still was not on the stage. I've never been to a concert where I had to wait so long to see the act. As a matter of fact, we never saw the band, we were tired of waiting so we left. Lettuce is one of my favorites, but to wait 3 1/2 hours plus is beyond ridiculous. I'll never go see them again. Matter of fact, they should refund my money. Worst concert experience ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Branz, Soulive, & Lettuce are all powerhouse acts. They preformed at the top of their caliber, as they always do.
Show was good. The music was great. The venue itself is old.
One serious talented funk band! Sax player the best individual highlight, he stole the show!
please come back. don't play at hob. don't play at hob. don't play at hob. don't play at hob. don't play at hob. don't play at hob. don't play at hob. don't play at hob. don't play at hob. don't play at hob. don't play at hob. don't play at hob.
It was ok. HOB moved seats out of the balcony to a space back by the bar.
So good! Sounded amazing! See this band! I first heard them on jam on and knew I had to check them out!
I have never seen them live before only heard them on jam on. They have a lot of energy!!!
