Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.
The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

Their recordings don’t do this band justice. Phenomenal live band I’ll be sure to catch next time they’re in town (this was my first show).
Loved the show. They are awesome. Great performance. She has a fantastic voice. Looks like the whole band has a lot of fun up there.
What a terrific band! This is the 5th time I’ve seen them and they never disappoint. Everyone in the band can sing and play. Rachel’s voice is amazing, and unique from anyone else out there currently. Bridget on bass is so talented and entertaining. I was surprised to see a brass section (sax, trumpet and trombone). They were excellent players in their own right and were a nice addition to the band as was a percussionist. I guess they’re trying to enlarge their sound as they head for the bigger houses. I’ll see them at the large amphitheaters like Merriweather Post Pavilion and The Mann Music Center if I can get decent seats in the pavilion area, but I won’t attend large arena shows like MSG. I hope they’ll still play the smaller theaters. Either way, if you haven’t seen them, get to a show!
Lake Street Dive is a collection of fantastic artists. This was the first night of their new tour and it did feel like they were working out a few kinks in the sound mixing, set list, etc. The musicality was tight and vocals spectacular as always. We sat in the seats at Merriweather and the sound was not great. Too much bass! Often the vocals were not accessible because of the mixing levels on the (many) instruments. More "acoustic"songs were better. Merriweather in general is a very underwhelming and dingy venue, esp when compared with somewhere like Wolftrap.
That Lake Street Dive show was the weirdest show I've ever seen. LSD finally took the stage after 9:00 pm and they looked like the Starland Vocal Band! The stage had a huge pastel rainbow stretched across the back wall - very 70s/80s, adding to the SVB vibe. Weird outfits, strange antics, and the lead singer was, aside from her amazing voice, just plain strange. She was wearing very tight satin pants with long fringes lining them from waist to ankle, and she danced these weird, sexual moves the whole time. It just all felt very surreal. I felt like we had been transported to some other universe. We left after about an hour. This band is great to listen to, but I did not enjoy seeing them live at all.
I can't say enough about this group. They are spectacular!! Rachael Price gets better every time I hear her. If you are wondering if you should go and see them, just GO! No matter what genre of music you like, you will LOVE them!
The concert couldn't have been better. Lake Street Dive is a very talented band both instrumentally and vocally. Rachel Price has an amazing voice and she is complemented with back up vocals by her bass player and guitar player. Rachel has star power. I thought that the guitar work was quite strong.
First time seeing LSD and absolutely loved the show! Such positive energy💕
What an energetic fun group!! Vocals and musicians were fantastic, they played the songs you wanted to hear, and even played a few songs acoustic. The crowd was dancing and so into it, we had such a great time. Would love to see them again!!
I was excited to Lake Street Drive with my family, but it ended up being the worst concert experience I have ever had. I am not sure what was wrong with the sound mixing or tech, but it was the most uncomfortably loud concert that I have ever been to. The treble and bass just made you wince, and even the earplugs the venue handed out did not make it better. I have been to arena concerts with much bigger crowds and never experienced anything like this with the sound. We had to leave after a few numbers, even after moving further back from the stage. First and last time I see a concert at this venue. Very disappointed
Drove up from NYC to Portland just for this group. Joined 7000 other lucky folks Saturday night. A lovely group of music lovers. Can’t wait to see Lake Street Dive again in NYC!
Celisse (opener) was phenom!! What talent on the guitar and state presence!!Lake Street Dive was fabulous! They had a wide range of songs and loved the three piece brass section that danced the whole time! So upbeat and fun!!!
I’m a big fan of the band. We were outside packed in like sardines, breathing in all sorts of smoke. Left early along with many others .
An especially tight set by the always excellent Lake Street Dive. Their late summer weekend visit to Thompson’s Point always lifts my spirits as the end of the season nears. Hurry back!
Lake Street Dive was Amazing!!! They never disappoint!
Is this to review LSD, or Ticketmaster or event venue (Thompson's Point)? I'm reviewing the venue since it's unclear which and of which I have the most to review. We came with umbrellas due to forecast. Had to check them at the gate which joined a growing pile as...who knew (yet kind of makes sense). People with chairs or blankets were turned away a mere 30 min after the doors opened because chairs and/or blanket access were full, and no where to stash them. So, how to know whether to lug, or not to lug, will we get in or won't we, how are we to know...we snagged the last row of blanket space but too far to see anything. So next time I guess we'll come w/o chairs or blankets (or umbrellas) to simplify so we can wander around and get a better viewing experience. Oh, and parking insane with a pre-pay $40, which also fills up ASAP with parking alternative of "you're on your own". The venue doesn't/can't adequately accommodate the volume of ticket holders. Honestly? Not worth the hassle, so there probably won't be a next time.
Lake Street Dive was in Top Form!! My husband and I had a fabulous time and enjoyed every minute!
I had never been to Thompson's Point in Portland, ME so it was a pleasure to see a show there! Lake Street Dive was such a breath of fresh air - the horn section! Rachel Price! Acoustic songs! It was all wonderful and we all LOVED that there were NO screens. It made you watch the performance, rather than just watching "tv."5 stars!
Great date night out, amazing band. Venue was fun with lots of food trucks and different alcoholic options. They played all the songs I knew and made me excited to listen to all their albums.
What a terrific concert! This band is outstanding and so much fun! We love you in Portland Maine!!
